Viscount raised an eyebrow and followed the girl.

With someone to guide him, he had no reason to refuse; he just took the girl as a mere guide.

Seraphina Parker gave Viscount an innocent smile, "What’s your name? Are you a guest here? Are you my grandpa’s guest?"

But regardless of her questions, Viscount ignored her, making Seraphina feel a bit disappointed.

Seeing Viscount walk into Hudson Parker’s courtyard, Seraphina quickly ran back to the second wing to inquire about the man’s identity.

When Viscount returned, Aurelia Shaw was just about to say goodbye to Hudson Parker. Coming out from Hudson Parker’s place, Viscount said in a surprised tone, "I didn’t expect your grandfather to be so nice to you."

"He’s really nice." He’s considered everything for her, even worried she might be uncomfortable at the coming-of-age ceremony, and consoled her.

A warm current flowed through Aurelia Shaw’s heart.

Viscount noticed it, "You really like this?"

"I wouldn’t say I like it or dislike it. Hmm... maybe because it’s been so long since I’ve felt the warmth of family," Aurelia Shaw said softly, lowering her eyes.

Viscount suddenly halted, seriously looking at Aurelia Shaw, "Aurelia, I am your family. I know the family you speak of isn’t what I mean, but no matter what happens, I am your family! If you’re wronged, you can come to me; my place will always be your home."

Aurelia Shaw suddenly felt Viscount had grown up.

She had thought he was grown before, but this moment felt especially clear.

It wasn’t a physical growth, nor a change in his gaze, but rather he had become a hard wall behind her, no longer the little boy hiding behind her for protection; he could now protect her.

"What is this coming-of-age ceremony about?" Viscount asked again.

"It’s the daughter of the second household, turning eighteen this year," Aurelia Shaw said.

Viscount thought for a moment, "So it’s the second son of this family’s daughter? Tsk tsk, are they planning something tricky again? Maybe they intend to stir up trouble at the coming-of-age ceremony?"
