Chapter 1336: Chapter 1336: Lin with Double Trees, Cheng as in Sincere

Aurelia Shaw lay on the window.

Seeing that the combat aircraft did not crash, she breathed a sigh of relief, then noticed the weak Alaric Wood.

"Alaric? What’s wrong with him?"

Alaric’s face was pale, his brows tightly furrowed, and his hand pressed against his temple.

He really wanted to tell her not to worry, but at this moment, he was in too much pain to say a word.

Vaila Mook checked him while saying, "His headache is acting up; his health isn’t good now and he frequently suffers from headaches."

She thought it was better not to tell Aurelia about Alaric’s rebirth for the time being.

Even if someone had to tell her, it shouldn’t be her.

"I’m fine." Alaric furrowed his brow and smiled at Aurelia.

Aurelia suddenly felt a bit complicated, sitting beside Alaric and helping him massage his temple.

Alaric froze, looking at Aurelia in astonishment.

"Close your eyes and rest for a bit, they probably won’t catch up again."

"Mmm."

Alaric obediently closed his eyes.

Vaila glanced at Aurelia, thinking that she’d said similar things countless times before, with the doctor’s reminders going in one ear and out the other, but when Aurelia mentioned it casually, he treated it like a decree.

Aurelia’s gaze landed on Alaric’s neck; his collar had come undone during the struggle, and below his collarbone adorned a bewitching tattoo like the other shore flower, which was actually a myriad of scars.

Though trying to hide it, careful observation still revealed traces of the scars.

Aurelia’s head started to ache slightly as memories of being kidnapped by the Mafia in her childhood surfaced.

Alaric’s words about the Mafia conducting live experiments weren’t lies.

There were many children locked up with her.

They took one child away each day, and upon returning, the child carried a strong medicinal smell, barely alive, covered in wounds.

Some children couldn’t hold on for a few days and died.

Amidst the cold and damp atmosphere, Aurelia could feel death enveloping her; she could be next any moment.

At that moment, Alaric patted her head, "I’ll protect you, don’t be afraid."

"I, I’m not afraid!" Aurelia said.

Having been used to protecting Viscount Zhou since childhood, how could she let another boy protect her?

She wouldn’t let him think she was afraid.

"Hey, you still haven’t told me your name. I’ve already told you mine."

Alaric pursed his lips.

Aurelia’s eyes turned red, pretending like she was about to cry.

Immediately, Alaric said, "Alaric, my name is Alaric."

Aurelia showed a sly smile, "Which Alaric? Which Wood?"

Alaric realized he’d been tricked and turned his head away, deciding to ignore her.

"If you don’t say, I’m going to cry again?"

After a while, Aurelia really made a crying face.

Alaric sighed, "Who tells someone they’re going to cry before actually crying?"

His tone was helpless, knowing too well she was being mischievous but helpless to stop it.

"Double wood, sincere Alaric."

"Alaric Wood." Aurelia chewed over these two words, "Alaric, will I... really get out?"

"Mmm."

Alaric was a bit surprised he’d make such a promise; he never cared about others before. He’d been here for a while, seeing people dying one after another, yet no turmoil passed through his heart.

Originally, he thought he was cold-blooded, but he never expected to meet Aurelia.

She was different from everyone else he’d met before.

Clearly a pampered young lady, but Alaric couldn’t see distaste or pity in her eyes towards him.

Those adults liked using compassionate eyes to look at him, then offer what they believed to be charity, but Alaric hated those looks.
