Chapter 1294: Chapter 1294: This Time Something Really Is Going to Happen!
"I am not losing my mind." Aurelia’s red lips parted slightly, her expression cold and clear, as she restrained the chill of murderous intent in her eyes, frowning lightly.
Suddenly, a thought crossed her mind and she began searching everywhere, "Ava? Ava?"
"Aurelia." A muffled voice came from inside the cabinet. Ava Thompson tried to climb out of it, but Aurelia firmly held the cabinet shut with a snap. Glancing at the chaotic scene and the people writhing in pain, she said, "Don’t come out yet. Those people haven’t completely left. You’ll be safe inside."
"Oh, okay." Ava agreed without doubt.
Aurelia gave Grayson Quinn a look and quietly said, "Find someone to move Ava out. Don’t let her see such a bloody scene."
"You knew it was bloody and still went hard," Grayson muttered, but he had no intention of blaming Aurelia nor did he look at her as if she were some anomaly. In moments of danger, any mercy could cost one’s life.
Especially since this group of people were specially trained assassins.
The cabinet was carried away, and Grayson looked at Aurelia, seemingly wanting to say something but hesitating whether or not to speak.
"If you have something to say, say it." Aurelia said.
"This attack was premeditated. They distracted the military here and then attacked the presidential house."
Aurelia suddenly froze! She thought Grayson would question her harsh actions, but she never expected it would be about the presidential house. Mason Nightshade was still there, so what about him? Has he also been affected?
Thinking about this possibility, Aurelia’s heart tightened as she quickly ran outside.
Henry Fletcher was walking in, and as he came face to face with Aurelia, he was stunned, then immediately sensed the strong smell of blood, his pupils suddenly tightening, and his gaze sharply looking inside!
The corpses inside had not yet been cleared, exposed right in front of Henry Fletcher.
Aurelia saw his usual expressionless face turn pale and then grow cold, with a sharp gaze piercing through her, scanning her blood-stained fingers clutching a knife.
Grayson internally shouted that this was not good! Henry Fletcher was definitely here to intentionally stop them. Left Xiang Feng had people attack the presidential house, and sent people to raid the military camp, then dispatched Henry Fletcher to delay them. Originally, as a lieutenant general, Henry had no right to stop them from helping the presidential house.
And now he sees this!
Henry had the expression of a lifeless face, appearing ruthless in action, yet detested private actions and brutality.
From his perspective, Aurelia’s actions seemed like legitimate self-defense, but in Henry’s view, it seemed entirely different.
This time, trouble was truly brewing!
Brother Mason had long seen that Aurelia was unstable in certain aspects spiritually, and if Henry grabbed hold of this point, then his attitude toward Aurelia...
Aurelia also realized this, her eyes darkening, as she hesitated. Yet, thinking that if she reacted intensely, it would cause trouble for Mason, implicating Mason—she herself cares little about consequences, but Mason cannot suffer because of her. He is a favored son of heaven, a pride of the nation, and she cannot let him become tainted because of her.
Someone came in to clean up inside, and Grayson was pondering what excuse to use to smooth things over for now, leaving it for Brother Mason to handle later. Yet, Henry Fletcher was the one who spoke first, "Take her away."
"Lieutenant General Henry, something happened at the presidential house, sending people there to support is the priority, isn’t it?" Grayson said.
Henry replied indifferently, "The people who should be sent to support have already been dispatched."
"But we can’t just detain people casually, right? This attack left everyone anxious, and all our people are at the front. If it weren’t for Miss Aurelia, even the First Lady would have been in trouble. Our military are not turncoat people, this approach seems a bit excessive." Grayson argued.
