Chapter 118: Chapter 117: Last negotiation (Part 2)
"Become a Maou?" Yuuji repeated.
"That’s right. While it is true that you are currently the ruler of Heaven, you don’t really have a bond of interests with them, nor with anyone in this world, right? In that case, simply become a Maou as well and become one of the rulers of Hell, that way the demonic race would accept your serum" Grayfia explained.
"But would they even accept me as a Maou in the first place?" Yuuji asked doubtfully.
"Of course. The devils would fear your strength as an enemy, but they would praise it as an ally. If you are a Maou, the demonic race is part of your strength, weakening it would mean weakening yourself, so everyone would know there is no reason to do so.
Above all, there have only been four Maous in the Underworld from the beginning, so if you become one, another will have to abdicate. With my support on your side, I’m sure everyone will accept it sooner or later"
"You’re saying you’ll give up your position and become my subordinate instead?"
"I prefer the term Maid, but yes, that is correct" Grayfia nodded.
Yuuji looked at the other three Maous.
"I was thinking the same thing, so I agree" Asmodeus nodded.
"It’s the best thing for our race" Sirzechs agreed.
"...Fine" Ajuka said with a somewhat reluctant expression.
"Wait!" Sona suddenly interrupted, drawing everyone’s attention. "Are you seriously going to accept this? Years ago, he caused the death of one of the four largest and most powerful armies of the demonic race, and because of him my sister is hated. And now you’re going to give him the position that originally belonged to my sister? It’s unfair!"
"Huh? But I don’t care?" Serafall said, confused by her younger sister’s sudden outburst.
"Sister, you don’t have to hide your feelings. I know you hate them and force yourself to smile all the time"
"Huh? Where did you get that from?"
"The last time, you trembled with rage when I mentioned them to you" Sona said.
"It was out of fear. They beat me up badly last time. I really don’t want to go through that again"
"You always smile even when you shouldn’t. Clearly, it’s unnatural"
"I just like smiling, what’s wrong with that?" Serafall replied, offended.
"Many times I see you sighing in the morning when you’re at Sirzechs’ house"
"Haha, that, well... It’s because I haven’t managed to have a child" Serafall scratched her cheek embarrassedly.
"A child?"
"A daughter, if possible. I’ll dress her as a magical girl from a young age so she’ll like it, and I’ll teach her specialized magic. Hehe, doesn’t that sound fun?" Serafall laughed.
"You really don’t hold a grudge against them or actually care?"
"No" Serafall denied. "Actually, after seeing Sirzechs work so much without rest, I feel relieved that I’m not a Maou"
"...I see" Sona said, sitting back down in embarrassment but wanting to change the subject quickly and pretend nothing had happened. "I apologize for my outburst. Please continue your discussion"
"Hehe, little Sona, do you really think I’m going to let that slide? So you’ve been worried about me all this time. My little sister is a total tsundere" Serafall hugged Sona playfully.
"N-no, it’s not like that, let me go" a blushing Sona tried to free herself without success.
"Well, leaving the sisters aside" Azazel intervened this time. "I have an idea as well. An idea that not only benefits all of us by solving our current problems, but will also help us in the future.
Since you’re the leader of Heaven and, by extension, technically the leader of the Fallen Angels as well, and now also one of the four leaders of Hell, why don’t you become a joint leader of the three, or rather four, factions, a rank above the Maous and the Seraphim?" Azazel proposed.
"Give you that much power? That’s something we’ve never seen before"
"Never? Are you sure about that?" Azazel laughed. "There was one, and coincidentally, he is your successor, the Biblical God.
Originally, God was the leader of the Biblical faction, which consisted simply of Heaven.
After that, Samael rebelled and was expelled, which ended up creating another Biblical faction. Then some Angels had ideas similar to Samael’s, but not as extreme, and ended up creating a third Biblical faction. Finally, the humans stopped being under control and became their own Biblical faction.
Heaven, Hell, Fallen Angels, Humans, in the end, they are all just part of the original Biblical faction. Let’s become one again, with our own branches, of course, but we will be united. Wouldn’t that be... perfect?"
"What would our role be there?" Before anyone else could say anything, Yasaka spoke.
"Of course, the Yokai faction of today is not what it used to be, and it is almost equal to all the others here, even surpassing my own. If Yasaka-sama is willing, we would be delighted for her to become part of the Biblical faction as well"
"In that case, I agree. My goal has always been to end this war, and a total union is the only thing that can guarantee true peace" Yasaka nodded.
"I, as the one who proposed it, of course agree as well" Azazel smiled.
"As Yuuji Rito’s maid, I will follow him no matter what he does"
"Although it pains me to admit it, Azazel is right this time. If we will no longer be in conflict, then there is no need to remain divided either. Unity makes strength"
"The stronger we are, the less work there will be and the more I can sleep. I agree"
"Although I don’t personally like him, I will follow the majority and whatever benefits the demonic race"
"We are already followers of God, so of course we agree"
"Agreed"
"Agreed"
Finally, the group looked at Cao Cao, the current leader of the Sacred Gear users among humanity.
At his silence, Kiba frowned. He knew perfectly well that Cao Cao was not only seeking to defeat the devils because of the current situation, but also believed in human racial supremacy and the purity of the human bloodline.
"I disagree. Humanity doesn’t need to subordinate itself to others to become strong" Cao Cao refused.
"Kiba, you are the new leader of the human faction" Yuuji immediately intervened, removing Cao Cao’s access to his Longinus and returning it to its original location before arriving there.
"What? Me?" Kiba asked in confusion, barely reacting to what had happened.
"Yes. And don’t worry, I took Cao Cao’s Longinus away because I knew about his racist beliefs, not because of his decision.
You can refuse if you want" Yuuji explained with a kind smile.
But to Kiba, that smile was anything but kind.
’You took it away...?’ he thought in astonishment, since with his strength, he had not noticed the absence of Cao Cao’s Sacred Gear before his disappearance. But remembering that the person in front of him was the current administrator of the entire Sacred Gear system, he did not find it difficult to believe that he could do it.
"Humanity joins the Biblical faction" Kiba decided immediately.
Humanity doesn’t need to subordinate itself to others to become strong? Kiba scoffed inwardly at such an idea. They had been in an alliance with the Yokai for centuries, and even so, they had only managed a draw against the devils. And those same devils had joined the new Biblical faction. Perhaps they did not need to join others to become strong, but joining others would definitely allow them to become much stronger.
"Then..." Azazel smiled as he looked toward Yuuji. "As the new God, the one with the divinity to control both Angels and Fallen Angels with a thought, with supreme control over the greatest weakness of every devil and administrator of the Sacred Gear system, humanity’s greatest strength, of course you’ll be the new leader of this new faction, right?"
"As if that hadn’t been the plan from the beginning" Yuuji made a disdainful grimace as he accepted the position.
Thus, finally, after two months of preparation, Yuuji managed to end the dispute that he himself had started.
Of course, although he accomplished this with only one conversation and a few displays of power, what followed was not easy.
On the human side, it was not too difficult. Everyone who possessed Sacred Gears were believers in God, no, it wasn’t that they believed in him, but rather that they knew of his existence, so subordinating them was not difficult. Even more so with control over the usage permissions of all Sacred Gears.
The only somewhat problematic part was that he had to deal with a personal group that Cao Cao had under his control, but this was not difficult once he found them.
And the angel and Fallen Angel side had been taken care of the moment he obtained the divinity of the sky.
But the difficult part was the devils. It was incredible how many subfactions existed there.
First of all, noble-blooded devils and common devils were basically two different species, so they had to be convinced separately. Fortunately, becoming one of the four Maous and telling them about the plan to unite the Biblical faction convinced most of them. After all, joining the Fallen Angels and Angels meant eliminating their greatest weakness from the equation.
Those who were not convinced by this were forcibly convinced thanks to the hierarchical ideal in Hell, where the strong rule over the weak.
The problem was two other groups. First, some of the many elders of the noble houses who thought too highly of themselves simply because of their age and position, going so far as to give orders to the Maous and believing themselves to be the true rulers of the Underworld.
Yuuji simply killed them all directly, and most people would never notice the difference. Such was their actual level of importance.
Finally, there was the faction of the Old Maous, followers of the original four Maous and their direct heirs, who believed they deserved the current Maou positions because of their lineage despite being dozens of times weaker than the current Maous.
With the exception of Vali Lucifer, who was at the peak Maou level, and whom Yuuji decided to deal with before anything else, since he knew that Vali had some strange methods, such as the sacrifice that allowed him to release Trihexa, the Beast of the Apocalypse, someone whom even the original Biblical God could not defeat.
Finally, with all of this done, he had to present himself before the other mythological factions of the world, something that was not really necessary but was necessary in order to be publicly recognized.
Aside from the unexpected duel against Shiva, who challenged him unilaterally, this event ended quickly, and Yuuji finally finished all his affairs in this world.
Or so he could have said before. Now he had become the new Biblical God and would have to come here every so often to oversee his faction, as well as serve as a deterrent against threats.
