Chapter 1042 Entertainment Of The Highest Order

(Meanwhile, Leo’s POV, The Time Stilled World)

It was just another quiet day inside the Time Stilled World as Leo stood on the edge of the training field, his arms folded across his chest as he observed Caleb and Mairon train with calm focus.

Caleb moved with careful discipline, his wooden blade striking in measured patterns as he repeated the drills Leo had taught him countless times before, while Mairon attacked the practice dummy nearby with far less restraint, his movements energetic yet chaotic as he rarely repeated a single pattern for long before growing bored of it and trying something new.

Leo watched both of them silently, when suddenly- “My Lord.”

The voice came from behind him.

Leo turned slightly as Shadow Number One approached, the fox-beast operative bowing respectfully before speaking again.

“My apologies for the interruption, my Lord,” Number One said. “However, this is a matter of utmost urgency.”

Leo’s expression sharpened instantly.

“Is it time?” he asked, as Shadow Number One nodded.

“It is time, my lord. The Deceiver Mauriss has been confirmed on Planet Helion-6. We do not know how large the window of opportunity will be, however what we can confirm for now is that Planet Granada should currently be unguarded.”

Leo did not hesitate.

In one smooth motion he pulled the dagger from his belt as his aura surged outward, the blade cutting through the fabric of space itself as a narrow Fourth Dimensional portal tore open before him.

*SWOOSH*

The air distorted violently as shimmering light bent around the wound in space, as without wasting another word, Leo stepped forward and walked into the portal, ready to make the journey to Granada.

(Meanwhile, Mauriss’s POV, Planet Helion-6)

For a moment, Mauriss felt utterly confused.

Just a few seconds ago he had clearly been able to sense the six divine auras seated inside the tent, their presence unmistakable even through the layers of enchantments surrounding the structure.

And yet suddenly…

They were gone.

Completely gone.

Mauriss blinked slowly as he hovered above the ruined plains, his storm still raging across the shattered continent beneath him while his senses searched the area once again.

Nothing.

Not a trace of their presence remained.

“What?”

His eyes narrowed.

For several seconds he remained completely still in the air, his attention focused entirely on the tent below as he carefully extended his perception outward again.

But the result did not change.

The structure still stood.

The protective charms surrounding it were still active.

And yet the six divine auras that had been sitting inside just moments ago had vanished as though they had all opened fourth-dimensional portals at the exact same instant and escaped the planet.

Mauriss tilted his head slightly.

“Why can I not sense them anymore?” he murmured to himself.

However, instead of being alarmed, the strange development only made his smile slowly return.

Because somehow…

The situation had just become even more interesting than before.

“What exactly is going on in there?”

His eyes flickered with growing curiosity.

“What kind of enchantment are they using to conceal their auras to this degree?”

Mauriss wondered aloud as he slowly began lowering himself toward the ground, drifting downward through the raging storm while the shattered battlefield below gradually came into clearer view.

The ruined plains were still drowning beneath the remnants of his Destructive Rainfall, the continent itself trembling from the

devastation he had unleashed.

And at the center of it all….

The tent remained untouched.

Mauriss continued descending, his movements slow and cautious

now while his eyes remained fixed on the structure.

He knew this was a trap.

Everything about the situation screamed trap.

And yet…

His curiosity refused to let him walk away.

“So you’ve hidden yourselves…” Mauriss muttered thoughtfully as his

feet finally touched the ruined ground.

“…and now you’re waiting for me to come inside?”

He chuckled softly.

“Well then.”

Mauriss began walking toward the tent.

Each step deliberate.

Each movement guarded.

His senses remained stretched to their limits while his reflexes prepared for the sudden explosion of violence that could occur at any

moment.

Because if the Gods truly had not fled…

Then they were waiting.

Watching.

Preparing.

And sure enough…

Inside the tent, six pairs of senses were tracking his every movement.

The moment Mauriss stepped close enough to the threshold they had predetermined, the trap would be sprung.

Seconds passed.

Mauriss moved closer.

Then closer still.

The distance between him and the tent slowly shrank as his expression remained calm, though his body was already prepared for

the inevitable ambush.

Then finally-

He crossed the invisible line.

And the trap activated instantly.

*BOOM*

Violent explosions erupted around him the ground beneath his feet

shattered in a sudden storm of fire and debris, the blasts detonating

in rapid succession as a deliberate distraction meant to disrupt his

senses.

And at that exact same moment-

The tent burst open.

Six figures exploded outward in a rapid rush.

Yu Kiro.

Lu Han.

Mu Shen.

Du Trask.

Ru Vassa.

And Kaelith.

But the first three had already closed the distance.

Yu Kiro moved like lightning.

Mu Shen struck from the side.

And Lu Han lunged forward directly toward Mauriss.

“Your ass is mine, Deceiver!” Lu Han roared as he charged, as Mauriss

felt his eyes widen at the sudden attack.

“Oh?”

Mauriss muttered, as his lips slowly stretched into the widest grin

imaginable, before eventually breaking into an outright chuckle.

“Ahahahaha-“

Mauriss laughed, because this was exactly what he had expected.

A trap.

An ambush.

A carefully planned attempt to kill him.

And yet…

He was not the least bit disappointed. Quite the opposite.

Standing there at the center of the ambush while six Gods descended

upon him from every direction, Mauriss felt something he had not

experienced in quite some time.

Excitement.

Pure, intoxicating excitement.

Because for the Deceiver… This was the thrill of the highest order.

A thrill he sought more desperately than anything else in existence.

“So this is what it must have felt for you Soron…..

All your life, you lived so beautifully you lucky bastard!” Mauriss muttered, as he prepared to defend and escape from his

opponents.
