Chapter 634 - Rightfully Belongs To Yvonne
Yvonne was in a pleasant mood after seeing the panic that had arisen in the Prince's eyes.
He had planned everything yet had forgotten the most crucial piece of information.
He was disguised as a stable boy when he had first met this girl and hence it was normal for her to be rude to him.
All along he had been harboring a grudge against her so learning about her ignorance had stumped him.
Upon learning this truth, he was prepared to bury his grievances from the past as long as no one knew of the insult he had faced.
However, he had landed himself in another mess the moment a wave of relief washed over him.
The child whose ignorance he had been rejoicing over, was now looking at him with a knowing look in her eyes.
If she was still in the dark earlier, now she had figured everything out.
The fact that he was the one who helped her come to this conclusion was making him feel worse.
If he had not interfered and left things alone as he had been suggested by his Uncle then none of this would have taken place.
The girl would still be under the impression that she had saved some unknown stable boy and he could have kept his reputation intact.
Though he would have to swallow the insult he had faced thanks to this girl, he would have at least saved face.
However, now he had brought this calamity upon himself.
The clueless child was now aware of everything and was gawking at him with her eyes wide open.
Yvonne had been perfectly playing the part of the child who was awestruck at the discovery she had made.
No one would be able to guess that she was well aware of everything right from the very beginning.
She knew that the one she had saved and called a pig was the future Crown Prince of this Kingdom even when he was disguised as a stable boy.
She was already aware of the events that would take place on that day and had come specifically to witness the drowning of the Prince from her comfortable seat behind the bushes.
However, she had somehow saved him just like in the original script but what happened after that was not what was written in the script.
Instead of calling Hilda his savior, the Prince had remembered who his real savior was.
'That was never supposed to happen.' She lamented as, until this very day, she had been under the false impression that the Prince had already put Hilda onto the pedestal of being his savior.
She did not know how she had ended up taking Hilda's place.
'Though that place rightfully belonged to Yvonne.' The child had conflicting views of the events of the past.
In Asmodeus's script, Yvonne had saved the Prince and forgotten about it while Hilda had claimed to be his savior and enjoyed the merit for this throughout the course of the script.
However, now, Yvonne did not know how the script would deviate from the original due to this misstep.
Prince Fritzen's words from earlier proved that he was sure of Yvonne's involvement in rescuing him.
Therefore, she would now have to deal with things as they came as her previous knowledge about the script would not help her, at least for the moment.
Thus, looking at the frozen Prince, Yvonne was trying to figure out what needed to be done next.
She could threaten the Prince to stay away from her using the information she possessed.
'But blackmailing him might backfire on me.' She hesitated on whether to move forward with this plan.
It was a known fact that this Prince was a hothead, therefore, she wished to have minimal contact with him.
If she were to threaten him, then she might get in his bad books and face the same doom that 'Yvonne' in the script did for going against him.
Therefore, she had to think of another way to get him off her back.
"W-what!?" Prince Fritzen choked when he finally came back to his senses.
He had been frozen in surprise that she had figured everything out until now but he had finally snapped out of his stupor.
Narrowing his eyes, he leered at the girl before him.
However, Yvonne did not shy away from his gaze nor did she show any signs of fear.
The little girl had a shocked look on her face before but now she seemed to have calmed down.
Their eyes were fixed on each other, as though they were sizing each other up.
The first to break their silence was the Prince who had to salvage the crisis he had caused.
"How much do you remember?" He questioned straightaway, dropping all pretense now.
Since she had figured it out, he would not beat around the bush but instead, try to decipher what she would do with the information that she now possessed.
'If she demands something ridiculous then…' He narrowed his eyes dangerously while looking at her.
Yvonne felt a shiver running down her spine at that very moment and knew what had caused it.
'No wonder he is the Male lead of this world.' She scoffed as he was, after all, the most favored son of the God who created this world.
Ignorant to the thoughts in her mind, Prince Fritzen waited patiently to know what she was up to.
Not wanting to drag this unpleasant conversation any longer, Yvonne decided to get right to the point.
"Everything." She revealed in a single word then watched as his jaw clenched.
He had been expecting this reply but he still harbored a bleak ray of hope which faded at the moment she uttered her answer.
"I only realized that it was the Prince I saved when you revealed it to me today." She added, pleased to rub coarse salt onto his fresh wounds.
Being reminded of the blunder he had made only caused the Prince's face to darken.
"Yes, I understand." He groaned in an attempt to make her stop bringing it up again.
Yvonne bit her lip, appearing aggrieved but that was just a ruse to cover up the smirk that had formed on her lips after noticing the annoyance on his face.
Now that they had gotten this out of the way, she decided to clear some of her own doubts as well.
"Prince?" She called out to the boy who seemed dazed.
Prince Fritzen glanced her way and gave her a weak nod, indicating her to speak.
As much as she wished to roll her eyes, she held that urge in as she needed his assistance now.
"What happened to you after you fainted?" She inquired in a low voice.
According to the script, the gardener had carried the unconscious boy to his house and treated him there.
She had followed them there so she knew that they had followed the script until that point.
However, as she had rushed back to the mansion after hearing that her parents had noticed that she was missing, she had skipped witnessing the rest of the events that took place after she left.
Back then, she had expected everything to occur as she had seen in her dream the previous night which had let her leave without any scruples in mind.
Yet now she realized that somewhere along the line, things had gone awry and she wished to know exactly where.
Hearing her query, Prince Fritzen glowered at her as an unfriendly expression took root over his face.
"You mean after you yelled at me to faint?" He retorted with a mocking sneer making an appearance.
Yvonne choked at his question but nodded nonetheless, without attempting to explain why she had done so.
Prince Fritzen did not pry too much as he then explained with that sneer still intact on his face about what had taken place once she had pulled him out of the stream.
In fact, he went a step further to describe his entire experience on that day.
'Looks like I left a deep impression in his mind.' She grimaced while he gave her a detailed recapitulation from the moment he had seen her to the point that he had left the gardener's house.
Through his recollection, she realized that her involvement had affected the flow of the script.
The Prince was thoroughly infuriated with her and her rude words that her face was seared into the recesses of his mind.
Due to this reason, when he met the daughter of the gardener, instead of calling her his savior as written in the script, he inquired about the existence of a black-haired girl who also lived in the St. Claire estate.
However, he did not gain any valuable information from her and could only let it go back then.
'So he did not fall in love with her?' Yvonne was confused after hearing this portion of the Prince's recollection.
The entire script Asmodeus had written was based on the Prince's obsession and love for his savior.
How he had struggled to look for her during his early years and then the joy he experienced upon their reunion after years of separation.
'Wasn't that the very essence of the script!?' She felt her head spin at this discovery.
The male lead's love for the female lead started after their first meeting where she saved him.
If this event did not take place, Yvonne was worried about what might happen to everything else that she had read in the script.
However, right now, there was a much more pressing question in her mind.
'Doesn't the Prince fall in love with the girl who saved him?' She shot the young boy a wary look as right now, in his eyes, she was that girl.
