Chapter 292

A New Beginning

The large figure stepped forward, wielding a rather ordinary weapon. If Ellie hadn’t mentioned that Eldest Young Lord Owen had enhanced it...Wint wouldn’t have dared to step forward like this.

“Nara, I think it’s best if you stop now. If you can calm the toxin in your body, you might still...”

“Get out!!! Young Lord Wint...Sob. Ahh!! Why do you care about her? Why?!!” Nara screamed in frustration. Though her eyes wavered slightly at seeing her number 1 hero approach, her emotions were too far gone to pull back now. So, even with Wint before her, negotiation was impossible.

Boom!!

A burst of magic power, tainted with demonic toxin, scattered around. Many plants began to wither and die. Ellie felt a pang of regret for their lost life force. Being a botanical magic user who had absorbed almost 40% of their life force, she felt a deep connection. Seeing her power-giver harmed this way, Ellie couldn’t let this continue.

“Wint, deal with this quickly.” Although Nara was the heroine of this story, letting her rampage any longer wouldn’t be good. Ellie didn’t know what would happen next, but Nara’s lack of control showed that the author had chosen the wrong person as the heroine.

So, Ellie would help bring this to an end...

Wint understood his duty upon hearing the order. Despite his deep sympathy for the girl before him, reason told him her existence was harmful, though he couldn’t understand the feelings deep down. His grip tightened, veins bulging visibly.

“I’m sorry, but...” Wint stepped forward, then leapt with his powerful body. Their eyes met accidentally, and tears streamed down Nara’s face. Wint saw them, of course; but no matter how sorry he felt for her, he couldn’t halt his actions.

“Die!!! Die, all of you!!” Nara’s magic power erupted again, as if this were her final explosion. Wint, leaping to end the fight, was blasted away, crashing through over 10 large trees before collapsing, coughing blood. Nara ignored Wint, focusing instead on her arch-nemesis, the root of all her troubles.

If not for her...this world would still be beautiful to me!!

“Die!!” Nara screamed again, lunging at Ellie. Golden magic power mixed with the black demonic toxin energy, forming a familiar circle. If Nara had used this perfection effectively, her strength could have rivaled top fighters. Sadly, by the time she realized how much of a Mary Sue-like ability she had been born with, she couldn’t control it anymore.

Boom!!! Boom!!! Boom!!!

The clash of magic power and defensive magical runes echoed continuously. Dust filled the air. Even Professor Lucien, who was shielding Professor Medik with his spell, was affected. This showed that Nara’s strength might surpass Professor Lucien’s ability to handle it.

"Tch!" Professor Lucien spat out blood and expanded his magic barrier further. He quickly gulped down a potion. But the person most worried was Professor Medik, who was deeply concerned about his student amid such fierce clashes.

As the dust from the initial impact settled, Ellie no longer ignored Nara’s approach. Her eyes narrowed dangerously. Beside her, a large Purple Mushroom helped dissolve the power invading during the activation of Ellie’s magical runes. The golden magic power was quickly dissolved, while the black toxin power was absorbed by something unseen.

In fact, the concentrated demonic toxin energy was being absorbed by Little Apple, who had been thought to have followed the eldest young lord. In this crucial moment, it came to assist its master.

Fortunately, the leaking toxin energy was only a small fraction. If it had been more, Little Apple couldn’t have handled it all. Ellie realized she had underestimated her opponent and now called up 5 layers of protective barriers. She wouldn’t give Nara another chance to cause trouble for her.

"Ellie....why? Why are you luckier than me?!” Nara didn’t understand. Her power was nearly depleted, but she had only managed to make Ellie stand. What was the point of her fight now!?

Hearing this question, Ellie paused. This was the last question Nara should be asking. Suddenly being asked why she was luckier made her reflect on all the time she had trained. Ellie remembered Nara spent her time happily with men, enjoying her growing power and lucky opportunities, but all that time, Ellie had worked tirelessly to increase her strength and knowledge.

Every night, she trained continuously, sleeping only 3-4 hours a day. Whether using the Purple Mushroom to boost her power or reading until her mind was exhausted, Ellie did it all to ensure her survival and timely departure. Despite all this, she never called it "luck."

But she had no reason to demonstrate her diligence to someone who didn’t truly want to acknowledge it. The petite woman sneered in response to Nara’s words, only further inciting her anger.

"Can’t you stand seeing my good fortune?" Ellie didn’t answer directly but instead posed a question to the beautiful heroine, whose half face was now black.

"You...you weren’t born to be lucky. You stole my luck, so you should give it back!!"

"Ah...so the secret’s out? Sorry about that," Ellie laughed. Even though Nara didn’t know that Ellie had actually stolen her luck and was just blaming her randomly, Ellie admitted to herself that she had indeed taken the heroine’s good fortune. She had seized everything the creator tried to bestow upon her.

"Ellie!!" Nara screamed loudly. She wanted to kill Ellie right there. She had nothing left to lose anyway. But the power she had received still wasn’t enough to deal with the woman in front of her.

As Nara was in a frenzy, not knowing how to deal with Ellie, it became Wint’s opportunity. The young man leaped from behind, braving the black magical storm with his sword in hand.

"Let’s end this, Nara," he shouted, drawing her attention to him. Before she realized it, the sword, charged with lightning magic power, had already pierced her.

Initially, Wint intended to strike her heart to prevent prolonged suffering. But Nara, unwilling to die easily, quickly dodged, causing the sword to stab into her abdomen instead.

"Ugh!!" The young woman spat blood, her face showing intense pain. Wint almost pulled the sword out to kill her again, but Ellie warned him. The sword could only be used once; pulling it out for another strike would render it incapable of sealing the demonic toxin.

The demonic toxin in Nara’s body was so strong that the weapon could only absorb half of it. Anyone who ended Nara’s life would likely get the demonic toxin as a parting gift. Thus, letting her suffer slowly was the best option.

However...when Nara had no other options left, she desperately pleaded for mercy.

"Help, help me...please help me," Wint turned his face away, unable to meet her eyes. This young woman had a hardened heart and was always envious of others. Yet, what she had done to him wasn’t terrible enough to warrant such suffering.

Ellie took a deep breath before deciding to hand another weapon to Wint. However, before Wint could end Nara’s life himself, something suddenly intervened.

“Ugh!!” Nara’s eyes rolled back, and the pain that should have ended her suffering instead made her scream even louder.

Wint was shocked. He quickly turned to see who the newcomer was and saw a petite woman, seemingly around his age, stepping forward slowly. The moment she appeared, it felt as if the whole world stopped. Ellie felt like she’d been struck on the head with a hammer. She couldn’t understand what was happening either, but the face of the woman looked just like her "best friend" from her previous life, didn’t it?

"Is everything alright?" The sweet, bell-like voice of the newcomer seemed to put Wint under a spell. The more she listened, the more certain Ellie became because the voice was so familiar to her.

"Are you alright?" The petite woman tilted her head slightly, looking naturally cute and lively, without a hint of pretense. A woman like this had immense charm without trying, which Ellie remembered her "best friend" from her past life had in abundance.

"U-Uh, we are fine, but...but you! You killed someone infected with demonic toxin, so you might be..."

"He he, don’t worry about it. My magic power can handle this level of demonic toxin."

"Magic power?" Wint raised his eyebrows slightly upon hearing that. Could it be true...that someone had a magic power specifically for fighting demonic toxin?

"Yes, this is my magic power," the woman said nonchalantly, not intending to boast but merely showing her power.

A magic power darker than the demonic toxin itself appeared. It was terrifying yet mysterious, intricate but shimmering with a radiant glow. Everyone was captivated by it inevitably. At first, they didn’t understand what it was until Professor Lucien remembered.

"You...May I see your magic power?"

"Certainly," the newly arrived woman replied, unperturbed. As Professor Lucien grasped her hand in his excitement, she simply summoned her magic power once more. The sight made Professor Lucien’s eyes widen even further.

"This is it! This is definitely that magic power!" Professor Medik, who had never seen Professor Lucien this excited, was very surprised, so he couldn’t help but approach and ask with curiosity.

"What kind of magic power is it?"

"Don’t you see? It’s a legendary magic power we’ve only read about in books."

"Uh..." Seeing that Medik clearly still confused, Professor Lucien explained.

"This is dimensional magic power, a rare magic power that doesn’t appear easily. Even among the high-ranking beings who ascended to the upper floors of the Tower of Eternity describe it as exceedingly rare. With this magic power...if properly trained...one can create secret dimensions, magical devices, dimensional rings, dimensional plots, and more. It’s a power that might only appear once in many tens thousands of years!!"

“.......!!...........” Finally, Professor Medik understood the source of Professor Lucien’s excitement. He looked at the charming young woman before them again and nodded in approval.

"Excellent, truly excellent. With this power, the kingdom will certainly take great care of you. Who are you? Could you introduce yourself to us?" Medik asked. The beautiful woman smiled warmly and nodded.

Ellie’s heart fluttered slightly. She was really worried about this matter. She glanced at Nara, the story’s heroine, now dead. Instead of the hero of the story delivering the final blow, it was this inexplicably familiar woman... She truly did not know what would happen next!

Ever since this woman had appeared, Ellie had been on high alert the moment she saw that familiar face. She had tried to send her spores to take root in the woman’s body, but they were easily destroyed. From that moment, Ellie had marked her as someone to watch closely!
