Chapter 295: Warmth And Comfort.
Chapter 295: 295: Warmth And Comfort.
Ronan expressed how he feared that having new cubs would make everyone, especially Sunnie, not care about him and rather focus on the little ones.
As they listened to what Ronan said, everyone was quiet for a while. No one had anything to say for a moment; they simply stared at him.
"I’m sorry if I made everyone worried. I..." Ronan stared up at them. "I shouldn’t have..."
But Sunnie smiled as she patted him on the hair. "Don’t. Don’t apologize at all... it’s okay. It’s not your fault at all."
Then Sunnie sighed as she stretched out her hand and gave Ronan a warm hug. After a long hug, Sunnie said, "Don’t think that at all... okay... don’t feel like that at all because that’s not going to happen."
Sunnie stared down at him as she said, "You all are my little ones. My precious little ones... so why would I ever forget about anyone or love anyone less?"
"My love for you all are different but the same in many ways. I will never... ever forget about anyone or love anyone less... I can’t do that to my precious ones," she said with a warm smile, patting him on the hair.
Ronan stared at her. "Is that true? I thought because of the little ones you’ve long stopped paying attention to me."
She smiled, shaking her head. "No. The little ones are still so tiny and always doing things wrong. That’s why we have to give them attention so they don’t hurt themselves."
She patted him on the hair. "But our Ronan is so grown up and mature now! And I’m proud of him because he doesn’t bring me much stress of being a little boy again. He’s all grown up, so I don’t have to worry about him... that’s another type of love."
"A mother’s love never fades away for their little ones—it evolves."
Ronan was now in tears as he hugged Sunnie more. "I’m sorry I doubted you... I..."
Sunnie held him firmly. "It’s okay. Don’t blame yourself at all. It’s okay... it’s okay..."
Sunnie consoled him as Luka also patted him, saying, "Papa was also worried that Mama will forget about Papa if she has you and little ones." He smiled as he said, "But Mama never forgets about me... her love for me simply evolved better... and I also learned that loving you is another type of our love too."
Ronan stared at his father, who smiled at him. Luka leaned down and gently patted him on the hair. "So... think about that... okay?"
Ronan nodded in tears. "Thanks..."
Everyone stared at the scene with warmth on their faces.
Luna and Lune turned to Eris and asked, "Papa, brother Ronan is crying. What’s happening? Did someone hurt him?"
Eris shook his head. "No. Brother Ronan is happy."
Luna and Lune stared at each other and stared at their brother. "Oh..."
Maren stared for a while before she came to where they were. Sunnie and Luka left the two of them, standing at a side while watching as Maren sat down close to her brother.
Maren smiled as she slowly patted him on the hair. "Are you okay?"
Ronan nodded. "Sorry for making you worried... I won’t do it again."
Maren smiled as she said, "It’s okay. My little Ronan was always a rascal causing trouble... and even though it’s annoying most times... at the end I still find my little Ronan fun and cute... because that’s my little brother."
They stared at each other with a smile as Maren said, "Do you want to hear a secret?"
Ronan nodded.
Maren smiled as she said, "When they gave birth to you, I was so obsessed with taking care of you... but then at some point I got angry."
She smiled as she continued, "Everyone was giving you the attention. No one was paying attention to me anymore... everyone loved you... and they didn’t love me alone... I was so jealous and sad... I even complained to Mii about it every day... and then I told Mii that I don’t like you anymore."
Ronan was surprised. "Huh? That happened?"
Maren smiled as she said, "Yes, it was."
"Then what happened?"
Maren sighed as she said, "Well, I was so angry with Mama and everyone. And I didn’t even eat well for days because I was..." She smiled. "But then one day, Aunty Elza told me..."
"We love the little one because he’s little, and we love the growing one because she’s growing."
Maren sighed as she said, "Then I thought... I’m growing... I’m different from the little one. Why should I be bothered? We’re different now... and Aunty Elza also told me that the little one will need all my help to grow better, and it’s my responsibility."
Maren smiled. "That was the moment I realized, ’Ah, it’s great to grow up now so I can be the one to take care of the little ones better.’" She smiled as she patted Ronan. "So... remember Aunty Elza’s words... and always remember that you’re unique and we’ll always love you because of that."
With those words, Ronan burst into tears again as he crashed into Maren’s arms in a warm hug.
Sunnie and Luka sat close to each other, leaning close while smiling at the warm scene of the two siblings hugging each other and Ronan crying in Maren’s arms.
"Thank you... I will... I will never be sad again. Thanks for loving me too... I’ll love and take care of the little ones. I’ll work hard to make sure that I take good care of them all."
Maren smiled with a nod. "That’s great. That’s great to do. Don’t feel bad growing up and having little ones. Rather be happy..."
He nodded while they hugged each other firmly.
"They’re so cute," Luka smiled as he folded his arms. "I’m glad it was able to be handled."
Sunnie nodded. "That’s great. It’s great," she sighed.
---
Ronan went back with them shortly after they were done reconciling. Immediately, the whole tribe was waiting for him.
Ronan was surprised to see everyone sitting around and waiting for him anxiously. As soon as he arrived, they stood up excitedly.
"Ah! You’re back!"
"He’s safe! Everyone, he’s safe!"
"That’s great news! We were so worried about you!"
"Yay! Ronan is back!"
Everyone cheered while celebrating his return. Ronan was surprised at the amount of cheers he got and how worried everyone was.
He didn’t expect this amount of it. Sunnie, who was standing beside him, smiled as she said, "You see, everyone loves you this much."
Luka nodded as he said, "They love their chaotic, fun little Ronan. They missed that side of you. So don’t be worried about anyone loving you less... okay?"
Ronan smiled with a nod. He was already so emotional, but he held himself as he smiled and rushed into the crowd.
He met with his peers who were waiting for him, and so they kicked off to go and play as usual.
Sunnie and Luka stood there watching him set off to go and play while everyone slowly went about their business.
Sunnie smiled. "Weird little one," she said.
"Reminds me of my younger self," Luka said. "Except that he doesn’t eat as much as I did."
Sunnie smiled as she shook her head. "Well, that’s good news, then."
Luka stared at her. "I’m hungry. Let’s get something."
Sunnie smiled as she turned to leave; Luka followed behind, requesting something to eat.
---
Over the days, the tribe went back to its normal state. Everyone had their business going on—doing whatever they did, working, playing, discussing, and the like.
Everything went naturally.
Ronan became more active in helping Sunnie take care of the new cubs. He was always there whenever Sunnie was around.
He would offer to carry the tiger cub or help watch after the egg. He was always offering to help Sunnie take care of the little cubs in one way or another.
Sunnie didn’t complain at all. She would always smile with a nod and let him handle it while also learning to take care of the little ones.
"You should learn. When the cubs grow, you’re going to be the one doing most of the work as an elder brother," Sunnie told him.
Ronan happily nodded. "Yes. I will gladly do it."
And so he was always working, leaving Karl and Zayn with nothing much to help with.
The two husbands always came around to help Sunnie so they could spend time with her. But anytime they arrived, Ronan was already there and he was helping Sunnie.
This had the two husbands stand there and stare with bland expressions. They stared at Ronan and then stared at themselves.
"This kid..." Karl gasped.
"Is stealing our jobs now..." Zayn shook his head.
Sunnie, on the other hand, shook her head while smiling.
Everything went smoothly with the fun and homely feel of the tribe—all going peacefully and smoothly until one day.
Karl’s egg had suddenly gone missing!
