Chapter 285: 285: Home Sweet Home

The others stood there watching Sunnie apply the liquid over his hand. "How does it feel? Does it hurt?" She smiled while gently applying it.

Zayn smiled while he slowly nodded his head. "A bit..." he said.

Sunnie nodded. "Okay, I’ll be more gentle."

Eris and Luka shook their heads, folding their arms while staring at them.

"I never knew anything this little hurt Zayn at all," Luka raised an eyebrow.

"He’s probably lying," Eris sighed. "Anything to get the female’s gentle attention."

Luka shook his head more as he said, "Cunning tiger indeed."

Karl stood and stared for a while before he said, "I can go and get more water. Should I?"

Sunnie stared at him. "No. No need for that. We’re already leaving."

Karl sighed as he slowly nodded. "Okay," with a little pout.

They continued their journey back with the beast husbands carrying Sunnie from one person to another. They never let her walk at all until they finally arrived at their destination—back at the tribe.

As soon as they arrived back, the first set of people they met were the group of women, Elza included.

The group of women and kids were at the streamside, getting some water while washing some meat and foodstuff they’d be preparing earlier. Some were washing their clothing.

Sunnie had taught the women how to wash their clothing with some materials. They had all begun doing so. Instead of wearing clothes for ages until they were unfit to wear and tossing them off, they had learned to wash them at least some days a week.

The tribe had grown more open and lively now. The atmosphere and environment where Sunnie and the rest lived was more developed and bright with people and space around.

It wasn’t the busy, dark, and isolated evil forest it was when she and her husbands arrived. Rather, it was a more open space now.

Trees were cut down, sunlight entered the atmosphere more. Houses and some storage spaces were built around, people moved around the scenery more. There was also another stream built around.

The women had come here to wash stuff while the kids who followed them would run and play around.

"Sunnie!"

"Sister Sunnie!"

"Uncle Black!"

The little ones playing who had seen them had instantly called aloud while they happily rushed to them to hug them.

One crashed into Sunnie’s arms for a while. Sunnie smiled, hugging the little deer and some other kids circling her.

But immediately, Zayn and Karl panicked. Sunnie was pregnant, so they didn’t need any pressure on her at all. So they stepped in.

Karl pulled some of the kids aside while Zayn hugged them all instead.

"Come to me," Karl said. "Welcome me."

The women also turned and watched the kids running to welcome them happily. It had been a while since they’d seen them, and everyone was worried.

But on seeing their return, everyone was clearly at ease now.

They smiled as they watched the warm scene of reunion. Most of the women, including Elza, had dropped all they were doing and rushed to the scene.

They had gone to welcome them as Sunnie hugged Elza warmly.

"We were so worried. I’m glad you’re all back," Elza smiled as she watched her from head to toe. "So... how are you doing? Is anything wrong? Did you get hurt? What did they do to you? Did they hurt anyone?" She asked while the other women monitored her from head to toe as well.

But Sunnie smiled, brushing it off while she shook her head. "No, I’m okay. Nothing happened at all. Rather, we were the ones who won and are able to return safely with Little Black."

She said, patting Little Black on the head.

Elza smiled as she stared down at Little Black. She patted him on his long rabbit ears and also played with his cheeks too. "You cute little one. I’m so glad you’re back and safe. You didn’t even know how much everyone missed you."

Little Black smiled as he said, "I’m also glad to be back." He expressed.

Elza stared at Sunnie and her husbands. "It must’ve been a long journey. We won’t waste any of your time at all. Hurry up and head back. They will get you something nice to eat."

She added, "And you should certainly get some rest. Okay?"

Sunnie nodded with a smile. "Sure." She looked around. "I don’t see my cubs playing with the kids. They usually do. Where are they now?"

Elza smiled as she shook her head. "Well, I guess our Maren has an answer to that."

"Maren?" Sunnie smiled. "What happened?"

Elza smiled as she said, "She insisted that her little siblings must learn how to do the basic chores. So she took the rest to go teach them how to clean, wash, and do all things."

Sunnie smiled as she shook her head. That was certainly her eldest daughter for sure—bossy at best. She smiled as she said, "That’s my daughter indeed."

She added, "We’ll go then and get some rest. Are you sure you don’t need any help?" Sunnie asked.

Elza and the other women shook their heads. "No need at all. We can handle this. So easy. You should go and get some rest. We’ll be fine."

Sunnie sighed as she nodded. "Okay, then." She said as she and the rest made their way in to settle down.

While they moved, the little kids happily followed behind. They were playing around happily while they followed her and the rest in.

When Sunnie and the rest arrived inside, everyone had happily gathered.

The tribe was already bustling with more people, and they had all come out to see Sunnie and the rest.

They celebrated them, singing for their triumphant and safe return.

Some had even come around to ask how they were doing and what had happened. After they were done explaining, they showed their relief.

"To celebrate," Zayn had said with a dominant voice that was happy, "We’ll be hosting a little celebration tonight! Everyone is invited to come as there shall be a lot to eat and drink!"

Everyone was happy with the news. They praised and celebrated while looking forward to the celebration tonight.

They believed it was a celebration for their successful fight at the tribe, for saving Little Black, and for returning safely.

But Sunnie could tell it was also for her bearing their cubs. Zayn and Karl certainly wanted to use the opportunity to announce their cubs.

She casually smiled as she shook their heads.

While everyone had already gone out to begin making preparations for the celebration at night, the men were already setting out to gather some meat and foodstuff that would be used to cook a great feast tonight. The women were making preparations for the cooking and all.

Sunnie was already in her room. Zayn and Karl had insisted she lay down gently in bed while they brought in her food for her to eat there.

The other beast husbands were standing around and watching. Zukka and Little Black had already gone out to help the others with the preparation.

"Eat while we’re watching. I need to make sure you have a healthy meal. It’s vegetable too," Zayn said.

Karl nodded in agreement. "Yes. You need something healthy like this. So eat more while we’re watching."

Sunnie blinked as she stared at them, speechless. "Well, at least I should go and help the ladies prepare the feast."

"No, you can’t go and work," Zayn shook his head.

"You can’t," Karl agreed. "You need to get more than enough rest. No work in the meantime."

Sunnie blinked. "But you know it doesn’t affect me... right?"

They both nodded.

"Still, we can’t see you work," Zayn said.

Sunnie sighed. She guessed she couldn’t get away from her stubborn husbands this time around. "At least let me help the other females."

"Don’t worry, we’ll help them," Zayn proudly said. "We’ll go and do all you’re supposed to do."

Sunnie stared at them, speechless. "You’ll go and help them cook...?"

They nodded proudly. "Yes. So you should just sit around and enjoy."

Sunnie didn’t know if she was to laugh or what. She casually shook her head as she ate. "Okay, sure then... I guess." She shrugged.

While she sat there eating, she heard some loud noises outside. As everyone turned, they saw the kids rushing inside.

Ronan and the twins were happily rushing into the cave room to meet their mum, whom they were told had finally returned.

They hadn’t seen them in ages, so they were rather worried and sad. But as soon as they learned she had returned, they rushed happily to meet her.

Everyone stared in surprise as the three of them rushed in and came to stay at Sunnie’s side. The twins had rushed into Sunnie’s arms with a hug, happy to see her.

And Sunnie had also embraced them with a smile. She hadn’t seen her little ones in a long time. She had truly missed them.
