Chapter 863: So Close, Yet The Farthest
Chapter 863: So Close, Yet The Farthest
Having decided where to go next, Maximus and his family left the Altheron Plane.
With little time before they begin the massive expansion of the Shadow Void Land, they first chose to visit the Tatra Plane.
Compared to the paradise of the Fernara Plane and the Combat Arena of Valhalla, they much preferred a shopping spree.
Curious about the tier 13 materials, treasures, and unique products the center of the Planar Chaos Region offered, they eagerly headed to the Tatra Plane.
Using the Omnis, Maximus brought his family to the plane in a single leap.
—
Tatra Plane:
Gazing at the massive plane that dwarfed the Altheron Plane, they couldn’t help but be amazed.
“When will the Aeon Plane grow this large?” they wondered.
If the Aeon Plane was a marble compared to the Altheron Plane, it was even smaller next to the Tatra Plane.
Yet, the Tatra Plane wasn’t the largest; in size, it ranked only in the middle among the planes of the Inner Chaos Region.
The truly enormous planes were the Overseers’, which were like suns in the inner chaos region.
“Soon, it won’t be long before the Aeon Plane advance to the tier 13 realm.” Maximus vowed, scanning the other planes.
Having seen enough, they entered the Tatra Plane.
—
“This place…”
Like the difference between a mortal world and a heavenly one, the Tatra Plane far surpassed the Altheron Plane they had visited before.
In terms of powerhouses alone, the Altheron Plane was like a kindergarten compared to the actual workplace.
Everywhere they looked, the weakest powerhouse was a tier 11 master of the River of Law, with Overlords as numerous as the eye could see.
“This place is truly different…”
Beyond the powerhouses, the atmosphere was also unique.
As the central market of the Planar Chaos Region, it drew not only those from the Inner Chaos Region but also visitors from the outer regions.
With a direct teleportation array from the Outer Chaos Region, the place buzzed with life beyond compare.
“Father, give us some money!”
“Grandfather, us too!”
Seeing such a lively market, much less his family, Maximus also felt a little eager.
Taking out countless units of plane origin, he gave each of his family a few trillion.
“Take your time to shop. I’ll call you when it’s time to return to the Aeon Plane.” Maximus shooed his children and grandchildren away, taking his wives alone.
“Haha, see you later, Father!”
“See you later!”
Exchanging the plane origin for the Tatra Plane’s currency, Maximus and his family began to shop.
From tier 1 to tier 13 materials, Maximus and his wives swept through the market.
With a collector’s passion, they wanted samples of every material in Chaos, whether it was natural or artificial.
Who knew if they’d need them one day? Even if not, having a sample of everything was always welcome.
Especially the infinitely expandable materials, they were truly a wonder of Chaos, regardless of tier.
Collecting every type available, Maximus spent hundreds of trillions of plane origin.
Fortunately, the dense Chaos in the Inner Chaos Region boosted his output, from his physique to the Chaos grass, to ten billion units of plane origin per day.
In a thousand years, he could accumulate a few quadrillion units.
As they shopped around, his wives noticed something odd.
“Why isn’t there a tier 13 ultimate treasure?”
“That’s right. Why are there no tier 13 ultimate treasures? Do they not exist?”
Having travelled across the Tatra Plane, they had never seen or heard of a tier 13 ultimate treasure.
They thought such treasures were just rare, but now they seemed nonexistent.
“Hah! Tier 13 ultimate treasure? Dream on!” an Overlord passing by sneered, overhearing their conversation.
“Oh? Why not?”
“Don’t you know there are only three tier 13 treasures in the Planar Chaos Region? Even the Overseers can’t each have one. How could they be sold here?”
“I see.”
Understanding the matter, they ignored the Overlord who had chimed in and continued chatting among themselves.
“Can you see if there’s still an unowned tier 13 ultimate treasure in the Planar Chaos Region, husband?”
Knowing their husband was omniscient, they trusted he would know if any tier 13 ultimate treasures still remained.
“There are still two unowned tier 13 ultimate treasures. However, they’re in a secret realm in Chaos, which was not easy to enter at the moment,” Maximus said with a smile.
As soon as he advanced to the tier 12 realm and condensed the Eye of Maxim, he immediately deduced the locations of all the tier 13 ultimate treasures he could find.
Unfortunately, across the entire Planar Chaos Region, only two remained unclaimed.
Moreover, they were sealed in a special realm. Unable to force it open, he could only wait until it unlocked.
As for those already claimed, there were five in total, which was more than most had guessed.
Even then, it had nothing to do with him.
Unlike lower rank treasure, once a tier 13 ultimate treasure was bound to someone, it could never be claimed again.
Even if they were killed, the ultimate treasure would merely vanish into existence and be born again in an unknown place.
Tier 13 ultimate treasures were truly a marvel of chaos.
To find more, Maximus estimated he would need to wander the boundless Chaotic Void or visit other Chaos Void regions.
“What a pity…”
Learning there were no accessible tier 13 ultimate treasures, his wives’ interest in shopping dimmed slightly.
Still, with the dazzling array of goods and entertainment, they remained energetic, as if brimming with endless vitality.
While they enjoyed their time to the fullest, Maximus and Sira also began to break down the last barriers between them.
Bit by bit, from holding hands to feeding each other, to hugging and kissing, the others even gave them space, leaving the two alone.
“Maximus~”
“Hmm?”
“Maximus!”
“What is it?” Maximus smiled, puzzled, as Sira kept calling his name.
“Maximus~”
Realizing Sira was teasing him, Maximus took her hand and hugged her from behind.
“Sira~” he whispered in her ear.
“Maximus~”
“Are you a parrot? Why do you only say my name?”
“I’m just making sure this isn’t a dream…” Sira murmured, feeling his warmth envelop her.
“It’s not. This is as real as it gets…”
“Really? Then why does it feel like an illusion?”
Having been with Maximus for millions of years, this was the closest they had ever been alone.
Yet, at the same time, Sira felt they were the farthest from each other.
They were so close, only a breath away, yet somehow, they seemed the farthest apart that Sira felt as if she were in a dream.
“It’s not. I’m here, hugging you from behind, whispering in your ear, saying, I love you, Sira…”
