The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 98 94: Mutual Investment, the Eye of Truth Transforms Again
At least, he couldn't have done it when he was a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice.
'Perhaps I should re-evaluate this young man's worth.'
Wizard Yi Si's eyes suddenly turned cold. Wang Ya Harak's designated task had been affected, but that was a minor issue. Task information was rarely false. Those useless fools from the Wizard Clan hadn't even discovered the Evil God incident, mistaking it for some Vengeful Spirit.
'This young man has brought me another excellent opportunity to interfere with the Wizard Family Alliance.'
'It could even be considered a violation of the rules, and there are quite a few angles to exploit.'
'This young man already has the ability and qualifications to become a key piece on my board.' Wizard Yi Si was shocked. 'His Power is increasing far too quickly.'
'It seems the opportunities and secrets this young man is hiding are anything but ordinary.'
Wizard Yi Si wasn't about to consider killing him for his treasures; he wouldn't stoop so low. Besides, what opportunity could possibly be greater than becoming the Inheritor Disciple of an Official Wizard?
Instead, he considered sponsoring him.
The fact that he survived an Evil God incident already spoke to his outstanding Ability.
The Secret Realm competition was tied to the Darkness Cultivation Program, and every single spot was incredibly important. The Wizard Freshmen were a critical part of the Wizard Family Alliance's plans.
If Wang Ya Harak could snatch one of those spots, it would be a major blow to the Wizard Clan.
A smile touched Wizard Yi Si's lips. It was indeed a viable plan. If it succeeded, the School Lineage would gain quite a few more spots.
He had already thought of how to sponsor him.
The resources needed to increase his Power, as well as some Witchcraft from the White Bone School, could all be gifted to him after he signed a Wizard Contract.
If he successfully secured a spot, Yi Si wouldn't mind personally speaking up to have a White Bone Wizard take him in as a disciple. This would strengthen the White Bone Lineage's Power as well.
Wizards with outstanding Ability and character were hard to find, and this would also gain the White Bone Lineage an extra spot.
Sometimes, the struggle wasn't just between the School Lineage and the Wizard Clans.
It would be a lie to say the twelve Extraordinary Schools weren't constantly vying to increase their own influence.
After all, it was directly tied to all sorts of Extraordinary Resources—to tangible, personal benefits.
Wizard Yi Si thought of Xugus, the chief. Given his personality, he would likely support this matter as well.
After all, Yi Si wasn't the one who most enjoyed stirring up trouble. That honor belonged to this fellow, who was all smiles on the surface but incredibly ruthless behind the scenes.
As for the sponsorship, that could be handed over to Denno Wizard.
...
「Wizard Task Management Agency.」
Before entering, Wade straightened his Wizard Robe and combed his beard. He then took out a mirror to check his reflection. Looking much more presentable, he finally knocked gently on the door.
A cool, neutral voice called from within. "Come in."
Only then did Wade push open the wooden door and enter. He bowed to the Wizard sitting in the chair behind the desk.
"I have something for you to handle, Wade," Kelan Wizard said, putting down the Sheepskin Scroll in her hands. She glanced up at the white-haired Old Wizard.
'His Power had likely declined to the point where he could no longer fight.'
'But his steady, dependable nature and his reliability in handling matters led Kelan Wizard to hold him in high regard.'
Wade said with a solemn expression, "Please give your instructions, Wizard Kelan."
"The designated task for the Lower House Wizard, Wang Ya Harak, has been successfully confirmed. The Task Level and rewards have been changed. Take this Sheepskin Scroll to him." Kelan Wizard pushed the yellow, script-covered scroll across the desk toward Wade.
Wade was discreet enough not to look at its contents, nor would he presume to ask about Kelan Wizard's intentions.
He knew, of course, that changes to a designated task could simply be sent via a Wizard Mark notification.
And the subsequent rewards could be collected directly from the Resource Management Department.
"Understood, Master Wizard Kelan." Wade nodded solemnly. He folded the Sheepskin Scroll, placed it into a special tube, and left the office of the task management agency.
A contemplative look crossed Kelan Wizard's cool features. She wondered if Illusory Dream Wizard would react to her actions.
But she was perpetually filled with guilt. It was her fault Illusory Dream Wizard was trapped in the Dream World, forced to spend most of their time there.
'My guess must be right,' she thought. 'This young man must have caught Teacher Illusion Illusory Dream's eye. They'll take him as a disciple after the Secret Realm competition.'
'People with such outstanding inspiration are far too rare.'
With an apprehensive heart, Kelan Wizard decided to offer some help to her future junior brother.
'Perhaps it could give him an edge in the Secret Realm competition. The rest would be up to him.'
