The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 323: Luring the Tiger Away from the Mountain, Chaos, Wizard War
Hanhai Wizard City has a Teleportation Array. It can be reached directly without using a Long-distance Teleportation Array.
The Wizards from the Berkeley Clan triggered Hanhai Wizard City’s City Defense Witch Array, which was how the Sea Wizard’s Divination Witchcraft was able to lock onto them.
Similar to Celestial Wings Wizard City, the Witch Array Cores are uniformly controlled by the Dark Core Hub, which holds the highest authority. Headquarters has updated the Witch Array Inspection Technique in all Wizard Cities, allowing for the immediate detection of any Wizard on the wanted list.
The Teleportation Tower.
Figures of Wizards arrived here one after another, having rushed over by various means. Their auras were powerful, all having reached the realm of Extreme Wizard Apprentices.
Many Wizards currently using the Teleportation Tower froze on the spot, stunned by these terrifying auras.
One of the more perceptive Wizards shouted, “The elite law enforcement unit, the ‘Dark Hand,’ is departing on a mission! All other Wizards, clear the Teleportation Tower!”
Only then did the other Wizards’ expressions change. They belatedly retreated from the Teleportation Tower and stood on the edge of the street, watching the dozen or so figures with curious sidelong glances.
The Dark Hand was too mysterious. They were said to be the elites among the Law Enforcement Wizards, their ace unit.
Most knew very little about them.
A tremor of shock ran through the onlookers. Today, they were finally gaining some understanding. Every single one of them was an Extreme Wizard Apprentice, or at the very least, had the power of a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice. They were all the cream of the crop among Wizards of their level, and each held the title of Child of the Dark. The very idea was staggering.
Only Wizards who had triumphed in the Secret Realm competitions or emerged victorious on the Battlefield could earn the honor of being a Child of the Dark.
That title was forged through bloody battles, honed in harsh environments, and earned through sheer, undeniable power.
To be targeted by such a group of Law Enforcement Wizards would be the worst nightmare of a lifetime, especially since they possessed the absolute authority to judge—the power to decide life and death on the spot.
As long as it was within the rules of the Dark Land, even Wizards holding positions in some of Headquarters’ own institutions could be directly judged if they broke the rules.
Thirty seconds later, a total of fifteen members of the Dark Hand had assembled. Among them were Wizard Yi Si and Xugus Wizard; even the figure of the Wind Wizard was present.
There were also quite a few members of the Dark Hand from the Wizard Clans, all of them familiar faces from the past.
“Let’s go straight to Hanhai Wizard City. We’re not waiting. For the mere Berkeley Clan, those of us who are here are more than enough.”
A cold, clear female voice spoke, her tone indifferent. Her stunningly beautiful, fair face held an icy expression, and her sky-blue pupils swept over the assembled Wizards.
The Level 3 Wizard Apprentice members seemed somewhat uncomfortable. The Extreme Wizard Apprentices, however, calmly met her gaze.
Polaris reached up and straightened a few strands of her long, straight black hair, half of which was tucked into her dark Wizard Robe. Her facial features were as exquisite as if divinely crafted. Her thin lips were pale, lending her an aloof pride as cold and remote as a plum blossom in winter.
She was a Wizard from the Dark Inheritance Lineage, her power having reached the Extreme Wizard Apprentice Level. She was also the deputy leader of the Dark Hand, responsible for determining the basic battle plan during operations.
As for a captain, one didn’t really exist. Or rather, one could say that the upper echelons of Headquarters itself served as the captain.
“Some people still haven’t arrived,” Saiya Wizard said, his expression solemn. Those who knew him understood his rigid personality; he insisted on following the rules to the letter.
“It’s not necessary,” Polaris said, her tone detached. “There are twenty-one members of the Dark Hand in total. The remaining five or six—a mix of Extreme and Level 3 Wizard Apprentices—are of no consequence. At its peak, the Berkeley Clan had only four or five Extreme Wizard Apprentices, let alone now.”
“Let’s move out now. The sooner we deal with those eyesores, the better. It’ll stop them from running around causing trouble inside the Dark Land.”
She took the lead and walked into the Teleportation Tower.
The agreed-upon assembly time was two minutes. Barely more than forty seconds had passed.
Xugus Wizard said with a grin, “Polaris has a point. What do you think, Yi Si?”
The corner of Wizard Yi Si’s mouth twitched. He silently removed the other’s hand from his shoulder and stepped into the Teleportation Tower.
‘He was right. With this many of them, forget the current Berkeley Clan. Even two of the Ten Great Wizard Clans combined wouldn’t be their match.’
‘They would crush those traitors with absolutely devastating power.’
‘It didn’t really matter whether the last six people showed up or not. By the time they arrived, the problem would likely already be solved.’
……
「One minute later.」
Wang Ya arrived at the Teleportation Tower within the specified time, his expression turning a little strange. The scene was not at all what he had imagined.
“Well, if it isn’t young Wang Ya. So you came too.”
A familiar voice called out. Wang Ya turned to see Lando Wizard strolling over leisurely, yawning. He held a Wizard’s Beverage in his hand, his eyes still heavy with sleep.
He, too, was wearing the Dark Enforcement Wizard Robe, which could only be worn when the Dark Hand was on a mission.
The robe was entirely black, and the faint Dark Light on its chest formed the symbol of the Dark Land’s Wizard Mark.
“Looks like they’ve already gone ahead,” Rod Stark said, stepping out from a side street with a slight frown.
He was also wearing a Dark Enforcement Wizard Robe.
Wang Ya’s Eye of Truth perceived that Rod Stark’s power had also reached the level of a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice. His Spiritual Power had increased significantly, with its value now around 34.
‘That’s far above Gray.’
‘Of course, compared to me, it was still far from enough.’
