The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 317: Forging the Dream Territory, Experimental Variables, Reunion of the Four
“These are all your favorite Wizard’s Beverages.”
“Haha, you’re the one who gets me, Gray.” Mas boisterously picked up the goblet and guzzled it down. His coppery face instantly flushed, and he already looked a bit tipsy.
The black liquid swirled in the glass, seeming to glint green in the light. A frog’s leg dangled over the rim.
Wang Ya raised the goblet to his lips and took a sip. A sour taste exploded on his tongue before quickly fading away.
‘He wasn’t even sure when everyone had decided he liked this Wizard’s Beverage. He supposed that since he’d never refused it, Gray had just made it his regular drink.’
This reunion of the four friends was ultimately different from the ones they had in their youth.
As they talked, the topics of conversation had shifted. They no longer just shared experiences with Witchcraft or gossiped about this or that Official Wizard or Extreme Wizard Apprentice. Instead, their discussions now stretched to the political situation in the Dark Land Headquarters and the changing rules for various resource territories.
The conversation even turned to the headquarters’ manhunt for those on the blacklist, with a particular focus on the Berkeley Clan’s situation.
The squad leaders of the Law Enforcement Wizards were so furious they could hardly sleep, frantically searching for Beta Berkeley and the other Wizard members of the Berkeley Clan.
“It’s tough. They’ve been searching for so long without any results. The only thing they can confirm is that they’re still somewhere within the Dark Land.”
Gray took a sip from his goblet and added, “The Berkeley Clan probably doesn’t dare show their faces. They wouldn’t even risk using large amounts of Particle Energy. I heard that Master Sea Wizard has been constantly performing divinations.”
Mas chimed in, “As for Big Bone Wizard City where I’m stationed, we haven’t seen any suspicious Wizards. My days are just patrols, making rulings, and handling conflicts between Wild Wizards.”
Wang Ya glanced at Gray, curious. The information he had was clearly not something an ordinary Wizard would know.
‘Don’t tell me Gray actually managed to join the Divine Eagle School, and even its Inheritance Lineage?’
Gray winked at Wang Ya, raising his Wizard’s Beverage to clink against Wang Ya’s goblet.
On instinct, Wang Ya used the Eye of Truth’s preliminary analysis function on Gray.
‘He was shocked. Gray’s Power had actually reached the level of a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice, with a Spiritual Power value of around 31!’
‘Even the prodigies from the Wizard Clans, like Zack Antuun, hadn’t broken through to become Level 3 Wizard Apprentices yet; they were all still hovering on the verge. Gray’s rate of improvement was still astonishingly fast.’
‘I’ve only reached the level of a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice this quickly because I’ve been consuming Dream Creatures, plus the synergistic benefits of the Dream Mage and Elemental Mage Systems.’
‘He must have become a Heritage Wizard of the Divine Eagle Lineage, with all the resources and privileges that entails,’ Wang Ya thought. ‘Otherwise, even with some special opportunity, it would be impossible to advance this fast.’
As evening fell, the four friends smiled and parted ways, each heading in a different direction.
This reunion had held a different weight. It was a farewell to the past, and a look toward their own separate futures.
A bleak autumn wind stirred the maple leaves, sending them fluttering into every corner of the Dark Land.
The four figures flickered in and out of sight, finally vanishing at the ends of different streets.
Their next reunion would likely be a long, long time from now…
