The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 288: Elemental Fission Science, a Witchcraft Artifact Born into Blood and Bone
Chapter 288: Chapter 183: Elemental Fission Science, a Witchcraft Artifact Born into Blood and Bone
Pushing open the window, Wang Ya took a deep breath. The cool, early spring air filled his lungs, calming him down.
The mental pressure was getting to be too much; he needed an outlet.
When Wizards conducted high-intensity Wizard Experiments or studied Extraordinary Knowledge, mental stress accumulated much faster than usual.
He couldn’t shake the restlessness deep inside him.
Wang Ya took off his Wizard Robe, leaving him in his white tunic. His figure then vanished within the active Witch Array.
When he reappeared, he was already in the Level 3 Laboratory.
He put on his Wizard’s Experiment Suit. His exclusive Dissection Knife, the Shadow Slayer Blade, had already been given to a Divine Blood Wizard to be reforged.
Wang Ya had paid a considerable price for the service.
Half a day later, Wang Ya emerged from the laboratory with a faint smile, but the faint scent of blood clinging to him refused to fade.
The analysis of the Evil God Origin was still ongoing, though Wang Ya had left it running on just a single, first-level process.
The analysis time hadn’t increased by much, only going from six years to eight and a half.
Of his two remaining objectives, one was permanently set on the High-tier Chapter of the Dream-Recalling Meditation Method. This was a far more difficult task; he estimated that he would first have to finish crafting his Extraordinary Witchcraft Artifact and successfully analyze his first High-tier Rune.
Harak flapped its wings and landed on Wang Ya’s shoulder as he stepped into the Level 2 Laboratory.
The matter of the Evil God Origin could not be rushed, as it concerned special concepts like universal rules.
Wang Ya began to take stock of his Wizard Path.
As for High-tier Extraordinary Knowledge, he had only grasped the paths of the Elemental Wizard and the Dream Wizard.
His knowledge leaned toward the fundamental principles of Witchcraft, which was why he had been able to create the High-tier Chapters for the Nightmare Witchcraft School and the Flame Demon Witchcraft School.
According to the knowledge passed down through the Inheritance Lineages of the Illusory Dream School and the White Bone School, their respective Inheritance Witchcraft was largely similar, extending only up to the High-tier Chapters.
Anything further, regarding Sublimation Witchcraft, was not included in the inheritance.
However, an Inheritance Lineage contained a vast amount of Extraordinary Knowledge. For example, the Rhine Lineage’s inheritance included at least six sequential forms of Inheritance Witchcraft, such as the Fury of Hephaestus and other types of High-tier Witchcraft.
Some inheritances were stronger than others, but they were always systematic, allowing a Wizard to progress upward from Low-tier Witchcraft.
There were also numerous miscellaneous forms of Witchcraft, each created by various Heritage Wizards to complement their primary Witchcraft School, strengthening it and shoring up any potential weaknesses.
There were also Wizards like Wang Ya, who constantly refined existing Witchcraft or created their own unique Witchcraft Schools.
When it came to Witchcraft—offense, defense, and mobility—Wang Ya excelled at versatile and uncanny techniques.
As for offense, he was well-covered thanks to his Flame Demon Witchcraft School.
However, Wang Ya was somewhat lacking in the areas of Biological Cultivation, Magical Plant Cultivation, and general Wizard Experiments.
It wasn’t so much that he was lacking, but rather that he had prioritized creating and perfecting his Witchcraft Schools.
As a result, his progress in these other areas had naturally stagnated.
‘For a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice… skills like Extraordinary Dissection should at least meet the Advanced standard, if not the High-tier one.’
Wang Ya’s grasp of Biological Cultivation was fairly profound, supported by the wealth of experimental data from Harak.
As for Magical Plant Cultivation, however, he was truly deficient. For example, during his Magic Plant Fusion experiments, Wang Ya used the laziest possible method: simply letting nature take its course.
While this method wasn’t necessarily bad, it ultimately stemmed from a lack of knowledge in Magical Plant Cultivation.
A qualified Wizard absolutely cannot afford to have any weak points in any aspect of their Wizard Experiments.
To stay true to his chosen Wizard Path, Wang Ya should have been specializing in the fundamental nature of Particle Energy and its transformations. For example, he should be studying what changes occur when the frequency of Fire Element Particle Energy reaches a certain amplitude, or what types of vibrations could cause different Elemental Particle Energies to undergo physical or elemental transformations and derivations.
All of this fell under the purview of High-tier Extraordinary Knowledge.
The highest of the High-tier, in fact.
Currently, Wang Ya had only taken the first step through the doorway of research into his Wizard Path.
Official Wizards were already mastering and delving into this area of Extraordinary Knowledge. They had successfully thrown the door wide open and walked right in.
What Wang Ya needed to do was keep pushing that door open until he could truly see his Wizard Path in its entirety.
‘The transformation of Particle Energy’s properties is a long-term research process. The Black Sun Inheritance can help shorten it, but it’s still an unavoidable grind. It will take a great deal of time to master and learn various kinds of High-tier knowledge in Energy Science.’
This was what in-depth research of Extraordinary Knowledge entailed.
Particle Energy Science, Dream Spirit Science, Astrology, Bloodline Root Source Science, Soul Conduction Science…
There were too many categories, too many disciplines.
The reason Wang Ya found it so incredibly difficult to research Wind Shadow Particle Energy was his insufficient foundation.
Different tiers of research for Wizard Experiments all required different foundations of knowledge.
‘In my past life, conducting that kind of experimental research required one to go through university, graduate school, master’s and doctoral programs, and on to professorship… You had to elevate yourself to that foundational level, step by step, just to be qualified to begin.’
‘Otherwise, forget research; even just understanding the material would be incredibly difficult.’
It had taken Wizard Yi Si and the Xugus Wizard a very long time to master White Bone Particle Energy… Compared to their long lifespans, Wang Ya, at twenty or thirty-something years old, was as young as they come.
