Chapter 287: Chapter 183: Elemental Fission Science, Birth of a Blood-and-Bone Witchcraft Artifact

Rilis walked out of the Wizard’s Residence, the smile on her face gradually fading.

It would be extremely difficult for the Berkeley Clan to accomplish this, and it would require a massive amount of time for preparation. As one of the cornerstones of the Dark Land’s power, the Long-distance Teleportation Array held absolute strategic significance.

It allowed Wizards to be teleported to any location within the major jurisdictions at a moment’s notice.

Alternatively, they could use the Teleportation Witch Arrays within the jurisdictions’ Wizard Cities to teleport back to Headquarters.

In the event of a war between Wizard factions, it would enable the swiftest execution of a series of tactics, such as reinforcing, retreating, and encircling.

The Witch Array resonance point in White Lake Wizard City was guarded by a considerable number of Wizards. There were at least five Extreme Wizard Apprentices stationed there, conservatively speaking, and no one knew how many more were hidden.

The Berkeley Clan’s task was to scout everything out and simultaneously set up a Teleportation Witch Array to allow the Extreme Wizard Apprentices from the Natural Ring Tower to teleport over.

Official Wizards could not get involved; their intervention would carry entirely different implications.

The number of Extreme Wizard Apprentices couldn’t be too high, either.

This was merely an attempt by the Natural Ring Tower, intended more to gauge the Dark Land’s reaction.

Rilis’s expression was exceptionally grim. Her current situation could be described as utterly disastrous.

The failure at Celestial Wings Wizard City had ruined her reputation, especially since she had fallen at the hands of the Child of the Dark, a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice.

In the eyes of the higher-ups, her value had plummeted.

She had been relegated to participating in the White Lake Wizard City mission. It was an extremely dangerous assignment, with a high probability she would die at the hands of the Dark Land’s Wizards.

Of course, she had actively sought this opportunity. If the mission succeeded, she wouldn’t be stripped of everything she had.

If she didn’t fight for it, both her Extraordinary Resources and her status in the Natural Ring Tower would be taken from her.

The law of the jungle in the Natural Ring Tower was a level of cruelty that other Wizard factions couldn’t possibly match.

Rilis had made another fatal mistake: she had failed to maintain the calm mind of a Wizard.

When she discovered her curse target had left the Dark Land Headquarters, she couldn’t hold back. She didn’t prioritize the White Lake Wizard City mission and chose to follow him.

As a result, she died at his hands, and also lost the Shadow Robe and the Rusted Iron Sword.

Even after being resurrected via her Sub-Soul, it would take an unknown and lengthy amount of time to recover her original power.

The Dark Bat Wizard, who had high hopes for her, had been willing to give her another chance. He had lent her the Shadow Robe, his purpose being to ensure she survived the mission in White Lake Wizard City.

“Wang Ya Harak.” Rilis bit her lip so hard it bled. “You’ve utterly ruined me.”

She could only hope that this time, the mission in White Lake Wizard City would be a success, allowing her to atone for her failures and giving her a sliver of hope.

…

「In the study.」

Wang Ya scrutinized the dark Wizard’s Robe. It was incredibly smooth, like silk, and vastly different from an ordinary Wizard Robe.

Across the shoulders and back of the Wizard Robe was a small patch of black cloth that could seemingly extend into a special cloak. To enter the Shadow State and travel through shadows, one had to wrap their entire body in the cloak, leaving not a single part exposed.

He did not rashly try to imprint his Spiritual Brand on it.

It clearly had an owner, and it was an Ascension Witchcraft Artifact of an Official Wizard, of an extremely high Grade.

If he did so, he would likely provoke the Spiritual Brand within the Shadow Robe’s Magic Core to resist.

He compared the brand’s strength to the Extraordinary Spiritual Power of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice.

This was not something Wang Ya could resist.

However, he knew of an Official Wizard. There was one right at Heart Dream Lake.

A smile appeared on Wang Ya’s lips. ‘Looks like I’ll have to trouble Teacher Illusory Dream again.’

As if sensing something from afar, the Illusory Dream Wizard adjusted the Wooden Mask on his cheek with his right hand.

With a light wave of his left hand, a swirling torrent of countless maple leaves flew toward the Maple Forest.

He sat upon Heart Dream Lake, fishing, but his hook wasn’t even in the water, and it held no bait.

And yet, all the fish in Heart Dream Lake leaped frantically from the water, trying to bite the empty hook as if drawn by some invisible force.

The dark Wizard’s Robe, carried by the maple leaves, drifted down from the sky.

The Illusory Dream Wizard placed the fishing rod to his side. The fish in Heart Dream Lake went into a frenzy, swarming madly, scrambling over each other to bite the hook.

The Shadow Robe floated before the Illusory Dream Wizard. His brow furrowed slightly beneath his Wooden Mask. “To think this belongs to that old bat. This kid really knows how to find trouble. That old bat is as vengeful as they come; if he wears this, he’ll probably hold a grudge for a lifetime.”

The Illusory Dream Wizard then smiled faintly. “But, as my disciple, it’s just an old bat’s Shadow Robe. If he wears it, he wears it. It’s no big deal.”

…

Wang Ya didn’t waste the next three months, instead choosing to conduct experimental research on Special Particle Energy.

First, he tried to master the Wind Shadow Particle Energy, researching the key to the transformation of its properties.

The difficulty was very high. Even with the aid of the Eye of Truth, Wang Ya found it strenuous.

The knowledge recorded on the Special Sheepskin Scroll was simply too vast and complex… For the first time, Wang Ya felt a sense of aversion, like he was back in his previous life, facing a high-level math course filled with dense blocks of minuscule symbols.

However, learning and mastering Special Particle Energy was much more difficult than any high-level math course.

And this was with a clear goal and a method, allowing him to study and master it step-by-step. One could only imagine how difficult it would be to create a Special Particle Energy from scratch.
