Chapter 1227: The Sea of Fiends

Chapter 1227: The Sea of Fiends

Once the entire Proud Ember Tribe learned about the Azure Wanderer, joyous sobs spread throughout the tribe as many people hugged each other in comfort and happiness, realizing they didn’t need to separate.

The Azure Wanderer was a True Divinity-level Magical Artifact. It offered far greater security than the make-do shelter on the shattered star fragment. Moreover, it had various facilities to sustain mortal populations.

Thus, the entire Proud Ember Tribe saw no problem in following Vaan’s group.

Even if they had to venture into the depths of the Dead Lands, they would still feel completely safe.

Swoosh!

Once everyone settled inside the planetary-sized starship, the Azure Wanderer immediately set off for the Dead Lands, a place long known for its peril and almost certain doom. Yet, besides feeling dreadful on this trip, the Proud Ember Tribe’s people also felt certain anticipation and hope.

On another note, none of them expected the conditions of the Azure Wanderer’s inner realm to be great. It provided a completely suitable and large living space for creatures of land, sea, and sky.

Moreover, there were ample resources, even specialized facilities, for providing sustainable developments and living.

Honestly, the conditions were far better than their original shelter. In fact, it was even better than their former homes.

Mana permeated the environment with such richness and purity, beyond everyone’s imagination. It was akin to a legendary Holy Land, something they had only ever heard about, and never actually experienced.

Such a magical land naturally left everyone in awe.

Once they had personally experienced the realm’s endless benefits, they found it hard to leave it. If possible, they wished they could settle for a lifetime, never needing to leave.

Unfortunately, they knew they had only been granted temporary residence. Whether they could stay forever or not depended on the generosity of the True Divinity who owned the Azure Wanderer.

At that moment, Divine Lord Vaelith was invited onto the bridged, along with a few other experienced Divine Lords from the tribe, to give directions to the Dead Lands.

However, during the trip, they were quick to realize that their presence was redundant; they weren’t needed at all because someone else was there to provide far better directions than them.

"There’s a noticeably large shattered star fragment on route. Please make minor corrections to avoid collision in two minutes..."

"There’s a small black hole up ahead. Please make corrections now to avoid entering its gravitational pull in thirty seconds..."

"There’s another..."

Empyrean Oceanheart followed Vaan’s timely instructions, making repeated directional changes along their journey to the Dead Lands, ensuring a smooth travel without any bumps on the road.

Initially, everyone on the bridge was dumbfounded by Vaan’s detailed knowledge of the region. They had no idea how he had come to know about places he had never been. Even the Proud Ember Tribe’s people weren’t this knowledgeable.

Everyone suspected that Vaan’s sensory range had even exceeded Empyrean Oceanheart’s.

However, that was clearly impossible.

Nevertheless, after repeated shocks, they eventually became numb to Vaan’s foreknowledge. They just attributed it to his Soul Master Abilities, which seemed to be the most reasonable explanation.

After all, Soul Masters were mysterious beyond their understanding. For them to wield such miraculous abilities shouldn’t be surprising.

"There’s a concentrated clutter of shattered star fragments up ahead. For this region, we will have to rely on your own skill to pass it, Empyrean Oceanheart." ŔἁꞐÓ฿Ë𝘚

"Alright."

Although Empyrean Oceanheart never needed Vaan’s assistance in navigating through the Umbral Edge, the journey definitely wouldn’t have been as smooth without it. There was a big difference between hard maneuvers and minor directional adjustments.

As for why Vaan didn’t offer any more directions for the following journey, Empyrean Oceanheart easily understood why. He wouldn’t be able to instruct quickly enough due to the myriad changes needed in a short time.

Even if he could, she might not react fast enough while maintaining their current travel velocity.

Under such circumstances, it was better not to create any distractions and to just let the pilot use their own judgment and skill to navigate the upcoming tricky region.

"The concentrated clutter of shattered star fragments coming up should be the boundary of the Dead Lands. Entering this area means entering its outer region. Your Excellencies, please be careful. This place could be swarming with Undying Fiends."

Divine Lord Vaelith informed Vaan’s group with nervous apprehension and dread, recalling past experience in this perilous land.

"Oh? How big can the swarm be? Could it be in the billions?"

Empyrean Oceanheart casually asked.

Originally, she was quite guarded against the Dead Lands. However, the journey had been surprisingly smooth, without encountering a single patrol. Thus, she lowered her guard.

"Billions?" Divine Lord Vaelith forced a smile before replying, "Perhaps billion-odd swarms exist in the Dead Lands, given its vastness."

"However, our Proud Ember Tribe had only ever encountered the Undying Fiend Swarm once, and frankly speaking, its number was so immense that it had formed a small sea in the void, making it quite noticeable from a great distance."

"For Undying Fiends to form such a noticeable sea of fiends in the vast void, honestly, their numbers probably exceed the trillions by countless folds."

Upon hearing this, Empyrean Oceanheart was visibly stunned and absolutely shocked in her heart. She didn’t expect there to be so many Undying Fiends in the outer region of the Dead Lands alone, let alone them forming such a large swarm.

Such a large immortal army of foul creatures was truly apocalyptic, should it appear anywhere outside the Umbral Edge.

A land of death would be left behind wherever it passes.

Realizing this, Empyrean Oceanheart found the Dead Lands to be quite appropriately named. It was truly dreadful and dangerous beyond her imagination.

When the boundary came into clearer view, the Azure Wanderer drastically reduced its travel velocity.

At the same time, Empyrean Oceanheart cast her sensory spell to spy beyond the boundary wall. In that instant, her heart was rocked by another wave of shock, her eyes widening in horror.

The scene ahead truly exceeded her imagination.

How... How could there be so many Undying Fiends?!
