Chapter 1055: Cyrena's Chance
Chapter 1055: Cyrena's Chance
Naturally, when Vaan witnessed the embryo fade out of reality, he immediately thought of Fourth Dimensional Beings like the Outer Beings. Only they appeared invisible and distorted the surrounding space with their presence.
However, Vaan could also see the embryo clearly when it faded back into reality, something uncharacteristic of Fourth Dimensional Beings.
Instead, the embryo within the frozen egg appeared to be closer to the Spirit Sentinel of Earth, which had shown traits of the third dimension and fourth dimension.
That said, the Spirit Sentinel of Earth was a spiritual life form.
On the other hand, the embryo was biological and countless times stronger even before it was born.
Although Vaan suspected the Outer Beings laid the unknown frozen egg, he didn't understand why or how it produced such an existence.
After all, Outer Beings were believed to be anti-life existences, killing every living being in sight like it was their most basic instinct.
Empyrean Scarletsea's world was destroyed because of that.
As such, if the embryo was a product of an Outer Being's copulation with a third-dimensional life form, why did it do it?
Why didn't it kill the third-dimensional life form? What changed its mind?
If the embryo wasn't the product of copulation between a fourth-dimensional being and a third-dimensional being, then for what other reason did it produce such a unique existence?
To adapt to the third-dimensional world?
As Vaan considered this, he wondered if their understanding of the Outer Beings had been incorrect from the start.
Maybe the Outer Beings weren't really anti-life. Maybe they slaughtered everyone in Empyrean Scarletsea's world for a different reason.
What if the Outer Beings were simply viewing other life forms from their world as pests?
If humans found a nice patch of land to settle down on, they would obviously clear the area of weeds and pests.
On the other hand, if they found pests in their homes, most wouldn't even think twice about eradicating them and rooting out their nests.
After all, normal people would want to keep their homes clean and the presence of insects would only imply otherwise.
'Maybe Outer Beings didn't think much about killing people like how humans don't think much about spraying ants in their homes,' Vaan mused.
In fact, most humans wouldn't even try to understand the ants' feelings and circumstances after finding them in their homes. The mere sight of ants would just displease them immediately.
That said, it was only Vaan's suspicion regarding the Outer Beings' behavior. He had no conclusive evidence.
The only undeniable truth known to him was that the embryo with the frozen egg was a mixed breed related to Outer Beings.
'What should I do with this egg?' Vaan pondered.
Considering the intensity of the danger he sensed from the frozen egg, the embryo most likely already possessed the power of a Rank 9 Divine King or greater. ℞𝓪ǒ𝔟Ε𝐒
While it was ridiculous for something unborn to be so powerful, Vaan was also aware that he was too weak to deal with it.
He could incinerate it with True Divinity-level flames from the Purpleflame Territory, but it wouldn't guarantee the embryo's death due to its fourth-dimensional aspect.
On the other hand, his Nihility Law was not at Rank 9 Divine King or greater. As such, his damage to its fourth-dimensional aspect would be limited.
If he couldn't kill the embryo outright, he would only anger it and risk its retaliation. It might be unborn, but it was still a godly existence. There was no telling what it could already do.
There was not enough information.
As such, killing the embryo was not an option. However, Vaan could leave behind a ticking time bomb, either.
'I'll take it with me,' Vaan ultimately decided.
He couldn't deal with it, but the world he was going to had many beings who could. Of course, he would only borrow their help as a last resort if the embryo went out of control.
Until then, Vaan still wanted to keep the embryonic life form close for research. It was worth studying.
Vaan still remembered when Varuna was able to command marine and aerial-type Outer Beings during his journey into nothingness.
As such, there was room for understanding between third-dimensional and fourth-dimensional beings. It just hasn't been established yet.
However, until he possessed the strength to make that possible, Outer Beings were still extremely dangerous.
After storing the frozen egg inside his Heaven-Swallowing Space, Vaan traveled back to Pangea.
Meanwhile, the United Pangea Federation readily sent off its second 10-million-ton Dreadnought-class starship, SS Pioneer, to the Celestial Belt, carrying over a hundred thousand androids and humans with varying specialties.
Their purpose was to advance the outpost and colony developments in the Celestial Belt and send resources back to Pangea.
While the entire Celestial Belt had not been fully mapped yet, the outer regions were cleared and designated safe.
As such, SS Pioneer was given the green to develop them.
Before Vaan left to enter the Myriad Sea God Palace, he decided to spend the last day with Cyrena.
Cyrena's romantic feelings for him were something Vaan had always known.
Unfortunately, there were never any opportunities or circumstances between them that would allow their relationship to develop beyond that of a teacher and student.
As such, Vaan never held any romantic feelings for Cyrena. He only viewed her favorably due to her efforts in advancing Potioneering.
Initially, Vaan intended to keep the status quo.
However, during his time with his women, each of them mentioned Cyrena's matter at least once, even requesting that he accept her feelings.
Little did they all know that men were very simple beings.
If Cyrena had actually made any move, he wouldn't have refused her advances. Of course, this was only possible since they were already close. It would be a different story if she were a complete stranger with no prior history with him.
Unfortunately for Cyrena, she had only ever kept her feelings to herself, never mentioned them to anyone, and never even acted a little on them.
Had Cyrena mustered even a little bit of courage to confess her feelings, they wouldn't have waited until now to be in an intimate relationship.
Nevertheless, her feelings were strong enough that even the least brightest mind among his women saw through her heart, let alone all of them.
Although Vaan didn't know who among his women came up with the idea to bring them together, he had to admit that Cyrena would have continued to keep her feelings to herself if nothing was ever done.
Some people were hopeless regarding matters of the heart. They would keep their feelings to themselves, then endlessly regret all of the missed opportunities to do anything about them once it was too late.
Fortunately for Cyrena, Vaan decided to accept her feelings and not let her live with regrets.
Still, it wasn't an opportunity that everyone would get.
As such, people shouldn't wait until it is too late. Be bold and take a chance. Nothing will happen if nothing is ever done.
