The Villain's Story

Chapter 923 - 923: Youngest Master Ever.

Behind him, on the screen, were a few 'simple' things. In the left corner was his photograph, and to the right, was a title.

[Youngest Master.]

Below it, his age, and below that, his affinities, his known affinities of Ice and Space, and below his affinities, came the reason that everybody in the conference was startled out of their seats, their mouths gaping in disbelief.

His current stats, his SSS-rank stats.

[Statistics:]

Strength: SSS

Mana: SSS+

Endurance: SSS

Intelligence: S+

Charm: S+

Agility: SSS.

It didn't include his aura, his Aether, and his martial techniques, as well as his plethora of skills and domains, but it was enough to cause Alan to frown.

'How? And when? Even Richard doesn't know my exact stats.'

When did they figure this out? Alan was certain he would have sensed any observational skill being used, and then it hit him.

He turned around and saw Harrison looking at him with a slight smile once more. The man walked over to him, medal and license in hand. But Alan wasn't paying attention to him.

He looked at the crowd and singled out a single man. He wasn't hard to find, with his bright orange hair tinged with scarlet red and fiery eyes. Even if he was trying to avoid Alan's gaze. Alan saw Elijah awkwardly turn his head away and clicked his tongue.

'It was Elijah...'

The only thing that could go past his senses was a Dragon Eye of an equal or greater level than his own... and since Elijah had The Creator behind him, Elijah might have scanned his status and told Harrison.

Alan silently received the medal and license and walked back to his own seat. Everybody stared at him, but he remained expressionless. When he sat back on his seat, all eyes were on him, besides Daniel and Ezra, the two closest. Daniel had the same amiable smile on his face as he stared at the stage, and who knew what Ezra was thinking of?

It was hard to tell with that deadpan expression on his face. Alan, meanwhile, was preoccupied.

'The official knowledge is I have reached S-rank, it isn't right for Elijah to take a peek at my status, and it is something he doesn't do normally as well. It just isn't his character... It doesn't seem like Harrison ordered him to do it either... was it The Creator?'

A sense of unease filled him. Officially, in close circles and the top of society, Alan's rank as S-rank is well known. Harrison has no real need to force Elijah to use [Dragon Eyes] to peek at Alan, and Richard has no reason to divulge Alan's real rank to everybody. Elijah was most likely influenced by The Creator to use [Dragon Eyes], and when the Creator had what he needed, he influenced Elijah to tell it to his boss, to assume a likely course of action, or something else entirely...

His blood boiled, a result of all his genetics fuming, but Alan managed to control it. Anything related to The Creator really got his Void Spawn, Dragon, and God Beast parts acting up, especially the former. Nevertheless, Alan knew there was hardly anything he could do right now, as well as the Creator.

The Supreme Dragon of Darkness, Valus, and the Primordial of Death, Ariel, were watching over him, as was the 'Lunatic' obsessed with Fate, known as the Supreme Dragon of Frost; she would be the first to notice any odd fluctuations in the Weave.

If a scheme were being prepared, he would have had some warning, at the very least. Since none came, it was probably nothing serious. Not at this time.

The sense of unease in his heart hadn't vanished, but aware that there was nothing he could do at the moment, he didn't think about it too much.

The Conference continued when Harrison coughed once more into the mic, attracting everyone's attention. Since the 'public' part of the conference was over, he delved into deeper details.

He first explained the rules of the 'War' to the leaders of the world, and delved into their preparations, mainly highlighting the defense of cities and their means to prevent portals from materializing in important locations.

Many raised their hands to ask questions, and the talks continued for three hours. Alan rolled his eyes and went to sleep at the thirty-minute mark. Richard could brief him about the important things later.

He didn't really need to hear of the glorious defeats of the demonic humans and the countless 'preparations' being held. When enough time had passed, Alan was woken up by Sabrina through the Astral bond.

[Wake up, dummy. You need to pay attention to this part.]

His eyes instantly snapped awake, and stared at the stage. Alan made his drowsiness disappear with the help of a few spells.

"Now, I must have you all know that this room is filled with the most competent and strongest individuals on this planet. That said, we have a certain responsibility. After studying each and every one of your strengths and weaknesses, I have assigned special missions to be given to all of you.

Not only will they give a massive amount of contribution points, but they will also aid in Humanity's victory."

When he finished his words, a hole opened up in the ground in front of their seats. A small robotic servant emerged from the hole and handed every person a file. Alan looked at the robot with amusement, thinking it was a little cute.

Grabbing the file, he flipped it open to see what 'missions' the Leader of Humanity thought were best for him... and he sighed.

'Yeah, of course.'

All of them but one were related to transportation. Hell, even the 'one' required some of his special skills! It was just not entirely based on them. All of Alan's mission had to do with his spatial affinity.

As he continued to read through them all, beads of sweat started to form on his forehead, something that was nearly impossible for a Frost Dragon! It showcased his disbelief!

'Are we serious right now?'

Mission One: Establish two portals in all the mentioned locations! One that can be activated manually, and one that remains active twenty-four-seven. All material and operational costs will be handled by the Association and the World Government.

As for the locations? There were over a hundred! Important military bases and basically half of every city in the damn world! Was the association planning on sending him on a world tour?! A work trip around the entire world?

Aside from that, there was also another troublesome mission!

Mission three: Discuss with researchers and The Sage the most optimum method to stop spatial magic, mainly portals. Establish it among all the mentioned locations. All costs will be handled by the Association and the World Government.

Once again, the entire damn world!

There was also one that involved him transporting entire warships to Gigantium! An entire fleet of warships, which included three modern aircraft carriers! And dozens of aircraft!

And there were a few more as well! Alan knew he could open portals, but isn't this too much?

"What the hell am I?! Your personal transport service?!"

He cried out, which drew a few glances. Alan ignored them, reading through his file with an exasperated expression. Harrison, on the stage, coughed.

'No way! Nah! Nah!'

Indeed, every mission was related to transport! Not only did he have to establish portals in every important location in the world, but he also had to transport hundreds of tons of goods and materials each time he made a visit! Furthermore, the last mission stated in the file, which was ironically the one he had to do first... was also transport in some sense!

It was a joint mission with Amanda Wells, the unique skill wielder, and basically centered around her! Alan, along with a team of other awakened, was to assist the Unique Skill wielder and delve deep into the lost territory of the North and western America to aid her!

When the mission was complete, he had to open a dozen portals again!

Portals! Portals! Portals!

Alan knew he was a spatial type of awakened, but this has to be too much! Surely, they can do something without him! Surely! This was just abuse! How is he supposed to handle the entire burden of the portal industry by himself on this planet? Is he the sole spatial sorcerer with a sizeable amount of mana...

'...'

Ah, right, he was. He was the sole Spatial User on the Planet, the very first... who was also infamous for having an extremely large mana pool.

Whatever kind of Spatial Sorcerer Gary was... he could never compare to a Dragon... Alan was the perfect person for the job... because he was the only one for the job! He was the only one who could do it!

A single tear escaped Alan's right eye and slid down his cheek as he slowly accepted his fate.
