The Villain's Story

Chapter 821 - 821: Supreme Dragon of Darkness, Valus.(3)

Alan Peccator was the first human ever to awaken a spatial affinity, and it gifted him one of the most broken abilities there could be.

Teleportation. He possessed two types of it: instantaneous teleportation, which only he could use, and normal teleportation with the help of a portal, which everyone could use if he activated it.

Both of them were powerful, but had their weaknesses. A portal was a fragile construct by nature; therefore, it had to be placed in safe environments where the mana was calm and controlled, not wreaking havoc. A portal in a chaotic place would break down instantly.

Both sides of the portal must be in an area where everything is in control. The mana levels must be stable, lest a portal will not work.

It was an incredibly versatile and powerful ability, despite this drawback. It was this ability that could facilitate interplanetary travel; it was the backbone of the entire economy of the Alliance.

The alliance wouldn’t exist if there were no portals, and similarly, even the invasions of the abyss wouldn’t exist if there were no portals. It was an ability that was the backbone of the entire universe at this point.

Everyone depended on it, and those who didn’t have access to it suffered deeply. Humanity’s expedition into Gigantium was entirely possible because of it. The attention that the Alliance finally gave them was because of portals.

They stepped up the ladder and were given a chance precisely because they had access to portals. And even now, there were projects underway to introduce portals to everyday life. Transport between cities and continents in a matter of seconds.

Transportation through the air had been revolutionized with the introduction of aerial monsters. Not many awakened could fly, and not a single awakened under the rank of A+ could fight well on a high-speed object in the air.

A portal had a weakness indeed, but the strengths far outweighed it. It couldn’t be used in combat, but who cared? It had far better uses.

Instantaneous teleportation, however, could be. A portal created a safe pathway to travel from point A to point B, a pathway anyone could travel on.

Instantaneous teleportation simply teleported one from point A to point B, without bothering to create a safe pathway. Even among spatial sorcerers, or anyone with the capability of teleportation, no one was crazy enough to do it the way Alan Peccator did it.

There were always some safety measures, which unfortunately didn’t make it an ‘instantaneous’ teleportation. Alan Peccator had a different way of doing it, however.

He said,

‘Fuck you.’

To the normal ways of teleportation, those with safety measures. He just teleported, performing an insane and suicidal move. Now, how could he handle a form of teleportation that would rip any human, elf, or dwarf who attempted it without any safety measures?

The answer was simple: Alan Peccator was built differently. He was, from birth, special. A dragon may be physically weak compared to a God beast, but that was to the God Beasts. A dragon was still greatly superior in terms of physical toughness and strength to any other lower race.

In addition to that, Alan wasn’t like other dragons, other ‘traditional’ dragons. He was a human from birth, who gradually became a dragon with the help of his guardian dragons. He wasn’t raised like a dragon.

Furthermore, he didn’t shy away from physical combat and resort to spamming spells… most of the time. Unlike other dragons, he paid attention to his physical performance. And this trait was further enhanced under the training of the sword saint.

He was closer to a God Beast than any dragon was. He had aura as well to enhance physical performance even further. He was built differently, which was why he could withstand his dangerous form of instantaneous teleportation. He also never noticed any abnormalities with his body after attempting it because his regeneration was so potent.

It left almost no traces of mana, due to no safety measures… but it did have a weakness. His opponents could figure it out. The Sword Saint had done it, and even Alexander and Lucas had done it after a while.

Alan needed a clear picture of where he was going, without focusing too much on teleporting instantly, he needed a clear view of the area. It relied on his eyes.

Ever heard of ‘Pay attention to the shoulders of a boxer?’. It was the same for Alan Peccator; it was a trick that worked once or twice on an opponent with a lot of battle experience, but after that, they could predict it.

After five uses of it, even an idiot could figure it out, but the thing was, anyone who could make Alan use it five times against them wasn’t an idiot, or they were, but so incredibly powerful they could handle it fine enough to not notice.

He was aware of his weakness, and Sword Saint Arken had even tried to teach him a way to eliminate it, so that instead of focusing his pupils at a certain location to teleport, to be able to focus on the entire environment in the middle of a fight, to be able to keep track of everything.

Alan still hadn’t succeeded in this, unfortunately. Therefore, this weakness of his was still apparent.

He was certain that Shi Lam would notice even before he fully attempted instantaneous teleportation; he was just at a different caliber. In fact, he would even notice the new version he was going to do. But Alan wouldn’t be going at Divine beings with multiple millennia of experience all the time.

His eyes told his opponents where he would be teleporting, and he couldn’t use Instantaneous teleportation without his eyes… But what if he could without ‘his’ eyes?

What if, instead of using his own vision to get constant information about the area, he used another sort of vision, something he recently acquired?

What if he didn’t use ‘his’ eyes, but the eyes of His Shadow?
