THE VILLAIN'S POV

Chapter 811 The Devouring of Death (2)

Chapter 811  The Devouring of Death (2)

“I can see them…”

Frey spoke coldly, his eyes opened so wide they seemed ready to burst.

“I can see everything.”

“Every strike he launches… every particle of aura…”

“I can see his attack before he even thinks of releasing it.”

Slash!!

Frey tore through Thanatos’ body.

Thanatos screamed in fury as his body exploded like a nuclear blast directly in Frey’s face.

But arcs of black lightning devoured the eruption of blue flames.

Thanatos retreated, launching attacks from afar to widen the distance between them.

Frey pursued him immediately, deflecting everything thrown his way.

Then, gripping the Shadowbolt Spear, Frey’s hand ignited with a terrifying light … a fusion of darkness and violet flame.

His arm resembled a rocket launcher as he hurled the spear forward.

It detonated into black lightning merged with violet fire.

Thanatos could not even see it due to its speed.

All he heard was the sound of bones shattering—

And his dead flesh being crushed and scattered in every direction.

His eyes slowly shifted downward.

He extended his right hand to feel the left side of his body …

Only to realize that the entire left half of his torso had vanished, leaving nothing but empty space.

“Thanatos… this is your final warning.”

Frey appeared before him in a single instant.

With one strike, he sent Thanatos flying.

Thanatos crashed into the ocean of blue fire.

But Frey blasted the inferno apart with a raging bolt of lightning, carving a massive crater through it.

Thanatos’ body burned under the effect of the black lightning, struggling desperately to regenerate.

But he could not.

Because Frey was already standing before him.

“My Pursuer ability is no longer active.”

Frey spoke calmly from behind his mask, staring coldly at Thanatos as he stepped closer—until they stood face to face.

“You know what that means… don’t you?”

SLAAAASH!!

Frey’s sword hand moved like a phantom.

His blade shredded Thanatos’ body at terrifying speed, preventing him from regenerating.

“You are no longer stronger than me.”

“You have already lost, embodiment of death.”

Frey said coldly, raising his sword before Thanatos’ face.

“I will not repeat myself.”

“Submit and do as I say…”

“Or face the consequences.”

The roles had reversed.

Thanatos knelt on the ground, suffering amid his own blood … his body unable to regenerate.

Frey stood above him, looking down with open disdain.

The Pursuer had pushed Frey from the first stage…

To the third.

And once he reached Origin Revelation, awakening the trait of Krat—

Combined with all his abilities and weapons—

Frey had truly surpassed Thanatos.

Thanatos was no longer the superior one.

The latter trembled.

Frey narrowed his eyes when he saw Thanatos’ body begin to blaze with a violent and destructive aura.

“Don’t get carried away.”

“Just because you managed to land a few insignificant blows.”

Thanatos rose again.

His body regenerated completely as a terrifying aura pressure erupted from him.

“This battle has only just begun.”

“Creatures like you do not get to decide my fate.”

“No one does !”

From within Thanatos’ body, a colossal pillar of fiery aura exploded into the sky.

From beneath the earth, skeletal hands burst forth as corpses rose from nothingness, answering his call.

They surrounded Frey from all directions.

Frey tightened his grip on his sword.

“So be it.”

Frey stepped forward, intent on continuing the fight.

But he stopped when a voice echoed from within him.

“That’s enough, Frey. Switch with me.”

It was Nameless.

Frey hesitated for a single second—then nodded.

Slowly, Frey’s aura subsided… and his entire presence changed.

Thanatos was screaming like a madman, unleashing tons of aura as it erupted violently around him.

But his mouth snapped shut without warning.

A dreadful sensation seized him.

Something dangerous. Something terrifying.

A feeling he had not experienced in a very long time.

“…Agaroth?!”

He gasped, fear flashing across his face.

But the figure before him was not the Demon King.

It was still Frey.

And yet—

Somehow, the presence he radiated now felt eerily similar to that of the Demon King.

“…Who are you?”

Thanatos asked, unconsciously taking a step back.

His opponent walked toward him calmly.

There was no aura pressure.

Nothing at all.

Compared to the raging volcano of flames surrounding Thanatos, he seemed utterly insignificant.

But Thanatos understood …

Appearances were deceiving.

That was not Frey.

It was Nameless.

Nameless slowly raised his sword toward Thanatos.

“Close your mouth.”

“Do not speak.”

“The time for words has already passed.”

Nameless’ eyes ignited with a roaring violet glow.

“All that remains for you now…”

“…is eternal torment within a night without end.”

SLASH!!!!!!

“…What?”

Thanatos whispered, astonishment written across his face.

He did not understand what had happened.

With a single swing of that sword—

He and all of his aura had been erased.

His body was completely destroyed.

Only a fragment of his head remained.

The entire space behind him had vanished.

The earth had been vaporized.

Ocean waters surged from afar, rushing in to swallow everything …

Yet they did not dare approach the place where Nameless stood.

Nameless stepped forward.

His body began to glow.

He dispersed his weapons, then moved his hands gracefully, forming a strange seal.

“Manipulation of Life and Death: Soul Cage.”

From nothingness, a massive violet circle appeared.

Strange runic symbols revolved endlessly across its surface.

The circle erupted with a tremendous surge of aura—

And from it emerged dark chains that wrapped themselves around Thanatos.

Not around his body …

For almost nothing remained of it.

They bound his soul.

Trapped by the chains, he was slowly dragged toward Frey ..

No…

Dragged into him.

“Did you think yourself invincible…”

“…simply because you cannot die?”

Nameless spoke coldly.

Terror flooded Thanatos’ face.

“Your soul is unique.”

“It is immortal. It will never fade.”

“Do you know what that means?”

Those words struck Thanatos like thunder.

“I can burn your soul forever… and draw upon its power without ever fearing its loss.”

“You are an endless source of strength for me—and for that boy you looked down upon.”

Thanatos screamed in misery, desperately grasping at anything to stop the chains from dragging him into Frey.

But it was useless.

The outcome had already been decided.

Those final moments of terror were witnessed by dozens of eyes.

For at that very moment, the delegation of the Shadow Sect arrived ..

Just in time to see the sight that left them frozen in shock.

Before their eyes—

Frey devoured the embodiment of death, turning him into yet another soul among the countless flames he wielded and drew power from.

Amid a shattered continent…

And a raging natural catastrophe—

A storm of black lightning and blue fire.

The victor between Frey Starlight and Thanatos had been decided.

It was a crushing victory.

For the Dark Knight of Earth—

Who had begun moving forward along a dark path…

One he had chosen for himself.
