Chapter 760: A Battlefield Unfit for Mortals (1)
The battle that was meant to bring an end to Gehrman and the Shadow Sect had finally reached its final stages.
What had begun as a carefully prepared trap had transformed into an astonishing, evenly matched conflict… one that shattered every expectation. Wesker had fallen early, utterly outclassed by Gehrman, who decisively settled their clash.
And now…
external forces from Helmond had intervened in an attempt to resolve the conflict.
Even so, the Shadow Sect endured—standing firm until the very end.
A battle of this magnitude and level surpassed everything humanity had ever experienced throughout its history.
The complete destruction of the moon.
The earlier earthquake that devastated the Southern Continent.
And now .. this ongoing war within the lands of the Empire.
Countless powers observed the battle from afar… yet none dared to intervene.
To interfere meant certain death.
It could be said that every living being on planet Earth was watching this conflict unfold .. waiting to learn its final outcome.
The price, however, was cruel.
The residual damage from the previous clashes alone claimed the lives of thousands of imperial citizens—people who never even had a chance to react.
It was a brutal reminder that, in this world, power alone defined one’s worth.
The strong lived.
The weak died .. unnoticed, unmourned.
While the entire world watched from afar…
Frey Starlight continued to clash head-on with Amon, standing his ground against him.
After a prolonged exchange, the battle began to reach a deadlock.
Amon stubbornly refused to use his world-breaking ability until the very end.
And despite stacking six world-breaking abilities, Frey Starlight was still unable to finish him off.
Those abilities gave Frey superiority in most aspects .. but Amon remained a genuine monster.
After an extended period of relentless blows, the two finally paused, both trying to catch their breath.
Frey leaned on his sword, his body hunched forward, hot steam escaping from his mouth.
His body was still wrapped in violet Soulfire, burning fiercely across different parts of him—yet his face had turned pale.
Two thin trails of blood leaked from beneath his eyes, the result of overusing Void.
That terrifying ability functioned like a super-instinct .. allowing Frey to perceive and evade every single strike Amon unleashed.
But Frey’s body couldn’t always keep up with what his eyes saw.
And when that happened… the demon landed his blows.
In those moments, Frey relied on his monstrous regeneration to suppress the damage—
—but such moments were becoming increasingly frequent.
On the other side, Amon exhaled deeply as well, smiling calmly at his opponent.
During their last exchange, he had suffered considerable damage from Frey’s sword.
Yet his innate nature as a demon allowed him to endure and withstand punishment far better than most beings.
It was safe to say .. he was nowhere near exhaustion.
Frey, too, appeared capable of holding out for a long time thanks to the power of the Souls .. but in reality, the immense strain caused by activating all those abilities simultaneously was taking its toll.
“Nameless’ vessel…”
Amon stretched slightly as a haze of dark Aura wrapped around his body.
“This battle has dragged on long enough. I believe it’s time we end it.”
Then—at a speed surpassing even light itself ..
Amon lunged at Frey, relying on his Flash Strike.
Frey evaded the attack thanks to Void, but Amon never stopped pressing him.
“Your ability is remarkable. No matter how much I increase my speed, your eyes still track every attack I throw at you.”
Amon shattered the ground beneath him as he continued chasing Frey.
“And even if I destroy those eyes of yours, you regenerate them instantly. The ability never disappears.”
“Truly… an annoying power.”
Hearing this, Frey remained calm .. but he knew Amon was right.
“These eyes allow me to track every one of his strikes…” Frey thought.
“But his speed is terrifying. Faster than anyone I’ve ever fought.”
He continued retreating, relying on short-range teleportation to evade each assault.
“It’s true that Void allows me to perceive his Flash Strike .. but I only get one chance to evade each time.”
“If I’m late by even a fraction of a second… the next Flash Strike will hit me instantly.”
And that had already happened several times.
“He can unleash thousands of those strikes every single second.”
“And each time, I must detect it, react to it, and use teleportation .. since it’s the only ability in my arsenal capable of matching his speed.”
Doing all of that simultaneously placed an overwhelming burden on Frey’s mind.
It was like processing an infinite number of possibilities .. and with each passing moment, Amon increased those possibilities, piling on even more pressure.
To bypass Void, Amon began attacking in new ways .. approaching from different angles every time .. searching for a gap, a weakness he could exploit.
Like searching through millions of needles… to find the single one he could pass through.
Amon found it several times already .. but each time, Void instantly sealed the new possibilities.
“To defeat you…”
Amon said coldly, tightening the pressure.
“I need to strike you with an attack you won’t rise from.”
He attacked without pause, completely occupying Frey with defense and evasion—leaving him no chance to counterattack.
The most terrifying part of it all ..
was the fact that Amon never slowed down.
On the contrary…
He seemed capable of using Flash Strike infinitely.
And capable of attacking from any direction, endlessly.
It defied logic.
Yet Frey’s Void Eyes uncovered the truth during the battle.
And similarly ..
Gehrman realized it as well, watching the fight with sharp focus.
“An Eleventh-Rank Demon…”
Gehrman muttered grimly.
“When exactly did that bastard pull this off?”
He turned his head, scanning the battlefield carefully.
After focusing for a moment longer ..
he finally saw it.
“…From the very beginning.”
“We’ve been fighting him inside this thing all along.”
Surrounding Amon, Frey, and the others ..
was an invisible barrier, circular in shape.
Something resembling a domain…
or a technique that distorted the very geography of the battlefield itself.
Amon knew full well that his opponents had already uncovered the truth.
He simply didn’t care.
“It’s true that I possess an exceptionally powerful ability granted to me by the King himself… but it’s not the only power I hold.”
“Beyond that ability… I also possess my own world-breaking power.”
Amon’s smile widened as he tightened the pressure on Frey.
“The Transparent World .. a technique rooted in the Law of Space.
It is an inferior version of Crimson’s Red World, yet it remains an extraordinarily powerful ability.”
Amon’s fist collided with Frey’s sword as the output of his aura surged.
“Within the Transparent World, I can attack from literally anywhere.
And I possess infinite aura, so long as my feet do not step outside its domain.”
The Transparent World was a terrifyingly powerful ability .. one with countless advantages.
