Chapter 454: Recovered Memories

He sighed.

"Truth be told, the blessing that she originally got... I mean, you probably already know about this. Humans are naturally born with a blessing and a curse randomly assigned by the world since the start. All we Angels and Demons actively did was forcefully lay claim to them. That was about it."

He looked at Adrian. "She was uniquely born with two highly powerful blessings. So we fought against the Angels to successfully claim her blessings for the Demonic faction. But considering the fact that she came back in time, I can only assume that things did not go well for her."

He looked at Adrian with genuine sincerity. "I hope you can actually change that."

Adrian nodded firmly. "Yeah. I will take a look at her exact blessings tonight."

He smirked playfully.

"By the way... I don’t know if you actually know this, but this specific clearing is literally a Dungeon’s Extended Area. While you are not inside a Dungeon right now, you are in a Dungeon’s area of influence. Simply saying, you are currently standing in a Dungeon’s territory."

The Demon blinked twice in pure shock. "Wait, what? How do you know that?"

Adrian smiled widely. "Well, let’s just say that it is a unique perk you get as a Dungeon Master. And well... something else that I came here with when I took over this body."

The Demon nodded slowly, looking around the mud hut nervously.

"Well, at least I’m not currently dead. I guess strictly staying outside the main Dungeon, even though it is in the magical influence of the Dungeon, doesn’t actually kill me."

Adrian nodded. "Okay, now tell me more. I want every single bit of useful information that you have about this world and the history."

The Chief let out a frustrated sigh. "Okay then. But it might take us until nighttime to cover everything."

"It doesn’t matter," Adrian ordered. "Start."

The Chief let out another heavy sigh. "I am supposed to be a terrifying Great Demon, and I am sitting here being a bedtime storyteller."

Adrian smirked. "Do you want to come with me into my Dungeon instead?"

The Demon’s lips twitched violently. "No."

He let out a defeated sigh. "Okay, fine, whatever. Let’s start then."

The two of them sat in the mud hut and talked until the evening, covering everything from the world’s politics to the unique liquid mana system, before Adrian finally walked out of the hut.

And the moment he did so, the Chief turned his head sharply to the side, almost like he was looking straight through the thick mud walls of his home.

Right outside his hut, in the specific direction that he was looking, there was actually no one there. At least, if one looked with their naked eye.

But there in fact, was someone. Or to be more accurate, something.

A formless soul flew rapidly backwards towards a certain direction the exact moment it sensed the Demon’s terrifying gaze. It didn’t take the soul too long to rush through the jungle and forcefully slam back into the body of a bald man sitting inside a hut.

Yuusha opened his eyes and frowned.

"She is here too," he muttered. "And she’s a child."

He frowned deeper, thinking hard for a few seconds.

"I remember killing her father in my past life. If I am not wrong, he was the one behind that huge monster horde attack against Vaneira’s territory. But I beat him up black and blue before executing him. And if I am not wrong, he was supposed to have abandoned her. But they are together now. And Claire is also with him... Serena too."

He frowned even more.

"Looks like something massively changed in this timeline."

Then he blinked, rubbing his temples.

"Wait. I am sure I used my soul to safely listen to the whole thing in that hut. So why can’t I remember anything they said?"

He bit his lip hard and tried to remember, but not even a bit of what he had heard from the discussion between Adrian and the Chief could be recalled. It was like his mind was completely blank.

He bit his lip so hard in frustration that he drew blood.

And the exact moment he tasted his own blood, the suppressed memories came flooding back in.

For a few seconds, he sat frozen in place. And then, he started laughing like an absolute maniac.

"Right! I forgot about the ’Gods’. I forgot about the massive deal I originally made to come back in time, and I also forgot a lot of other things. But now I remember it all! Ahahahahahahaha!!!."

He wiped the blood from his lip.

"There should technically be a reason for this memory block. But nah, it doesn’t even matter. I don’t fucking care who is controlling my memories or who is pulling the strings behind this whole regression thing. But they made a massive, catastrophic mistake by giving me access to this specific information today."

He smirked darkly, staring down at his reflection in the water.

"So as long as I gather this ’Faith’ energy, along with an excessive, massive amount of Karma... and it doesn’t even matter whether it is good or bad Karma, I can literally become a God."

His eyes widened with pure, unadulterated ambition.

"And this way, I can finally go back to Earth! Yeah! Who in their right mind would even actively want to stay on this backward, primitive planet? There are no video games, no modern technology, nothing. I am constantly bored out of my fucking mind here." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

He stood up and walked out of his hut to the center of the massive tribal camp before he looked around at the various people inside his tribe.

He smirked in utter disgust. "I have already tasted almost every single girl here, and now even that is boring."

Without any verbal warning whatsoever, he casually reached out and grabbed a heavy stone axe that was resting against the wall right beside his hut’s door.
