Chapter 453: Sort Things Out, Bro

“So it didn’t really matter whether it was an angelic Apostle or a demonic Avatar?” Adrian asked. “You just couldn’t enter a Dungeon?”

The Demon nodded grimly. “Yes. We couldn’t. Well, we technically could… but we never returned. The Demons who walked inside a Dungeon never, ever returned. Be it their Avatar’s physical bodies or their true spiritual bodies. In your words, their souls. We lost a lot of our best men back then.”

Adrian frowned. “Right. When you previously said that you took a lot of heavy losses when you fought with the High Elves… don’t tell me you actually just blindly walked into a Dungeon.”

The Demon let out a deeply embarrassed sigh.

“Well… yes, we did. After we successfully took over the World Tree, we rushed into a massive Dungeon because that was the very first time we had ever found one. We knew about the native Dragons being the protectors of this world, and we had to actively make sure that we didn’t break the laws set upon by this world. Because on this planet, it didn’t matter how strong we were. Even an adolescent, untrained Dragon could easily execute us if we broke the rules.”

He rubbed his face.

“So when we found out about the massive Dungeon, we immediately formed a massive, heavily armed group and rushed right in. We foolishly assumed back then that the Dragons were probably using the place as a home. Back then, we didn’t even call it a Dungeon. We basically just called it a Dragon’s Lair. But lo and behold, it wasn’t exactly a Dragon’s Lair. We don’t even know what was actually inside. Our best people proudly marched in and never, ever returned.”

Adrian nodded slowly, processing the absurdity of it. “Okay, so you guys literally cannot walk out of a dungeon if you ever enter one.”

Adrian suddenly laughed loudly. “Now this is really funny.”

He smirked at the Demon. “Do you want to enter a Dungeon right now?”

The Demon immediately took a step back. “I am not interested in entering any Dungeon.”

Adrian chuckled again. “Sure.”

He mentally pinged the system.

‘Will this Demon survive if I actually allow him inside the Dungeon?’

[Affirmative. As long as the Dungeon Master actively wishes him alive, then he will stay alive. But the exact moment you mentally wish for him to die, or any Apostle, or any Angel, then the Dungeon will execute them instantaneously. This specific instant-kill function does not work on regular native species.]

Adrian smirked wider.

“You wouldn’t actually die even if you entered one right now. Because I am the one who officially owns the Dungeon, and I can completely control it however I want. Do you see exactly where I stand right now?”

Chief just stared at Adrian in complete awe.

“I had a few wild assumptions of my own, but I did not ever imagine that you could actively be a Master of a Dungeon. I knew that you had a certain level of control over the monsters, but definitely not to this terrifying extent.”

Adrian chuckled. “So, what is your answer to my offer?”

The Demon thought about it for a long, tense moment.

“Sure. We have a deal.”

Adrian smirked darkly. “What will happen to my daughter’s demonic blessings if you suddenly die right now? Will they disappear?”

The Chief looked at him. For the very first time, there was an expression of genuine, unfiltered fear in his eyes.

“You’re joking, right?”

Adrian just chuckled playfully. “Of course I am joking. Why don’t we go and take a look at my Dungeon together?” he said amicably, rubbing his hands together.

The Chief immediately shook his head repeatedly. “Yep. Nope. I am absolutely not interested. I am very happy right here. You can happily go into your Dungeon by yourself.”

He paused, and his fearful expression went entirely serious.

“I hope you actually talked things through with Aria.”

Adrian took a deep breath. “I did talk to her. But considering the fact that she came back in time, and you magically knew about it… I have a question for you.”

“You don’t even have to ask me,” the Chief interrupted. “Well, we did not really know for sure, and we definitely didn’t sense it when the exact temporal shift happened. But we can actually actively look at everything that people do in the world, as long as it is not actively inside a Dungeon. And we have seen her do certain things that a normal child would never, ever do. Unless she is either possessed, which she isn’t, or she has magically come back in time somehow. And before you ask if we keep an eye on everyone, the answer is no. I just kept an eye on her because she was that valuable.”

He shrugged.

“Anyways, going back to the main topic… since there is literally no one else who possesses the methods that we use to take over other people’s bodies, the logical option was pretty simple. It was either her going back in time, or someone from a completely different world taking over her body exactly the way that it happened to you.”

Before Adrian could even ask another question about it, the Chief spoke again.

“You are not the first person who took over the body of someone else on this planet. There have been a few others in the past, but they have all failed.”

He waved his hand.

“We just closely kept an eye on her movements. The specific way she did things basically told us that she knew the people around her, and she knew about the future events. She also knew a lot about the world, which helped us narrow it down to time travel.”

Adrian nodded slowly. “Okay.”

“I genuinely hope you sorted things out between you two, and I hope that you can help each other out,” the Demon said softly. “I gave her such great, powerful blessings in her past life. It is a massive pity that she never found out what they were, and I am pretty sure that she still doesn’t know about them in this life.”
