Chapter 232: Chapter 232: Solving the Mystery of the Divine Medicine

"Anan!"

The Queen turned stiffly toward the cubs in Su An’an’s arms, her fingertips twitching nervously:

"One drop. Just one drop. It won’t have any effect on the cubs."

"Impossible!"

Su An’an retreated with a sharp cry, her butterfly wings flaring open to wrap the cubs in a cocoon of light.

"Stop them!"

The Queen’s roar had barely faded when the Forbidden Guard’s spears sealed the hall’s entrance.

Seville’s Golden Wings sliced through the air like a guillotine, the cold glint of his Feather Blades menacing. "Cross this line and die."

Ying Jiuyao’s tiger claws tore through the chest plate of the foremost guard, splattering blood across the carved reliefs on the pillars.

"Come and get it if you’re not afraid to die!"

Su An’an turned to rush for a side door, but behind her came the Queen’s grief-stricken, bloodcurdling cry:

"Are you going to abandon your own mother?!"

She froze, her feet rooted to the spot. The cubs in her arms, held too tightly, let out a soft whimper.

"WAAAAH!!!"

Both cubs suddenly burst into tears!

The sweet scent of milk, carrying with it flecks of golden light, swept out like a tsunami.

The void rippled, and the blood-red threads shattered.

The Queen clutched her neck and collapsed onto the throne. When she looked up again, the bloody mist in her eyes had vanished, leaving only a wasteland of despair.

Seeing her defiant daughter and the chaos strewn across the floor, she gave a weak wave of her right hand. "Go."

Seville’s Golden Wings brushed past the bloodstained reliefs as he shielded Su An’an and led her out of the hall.

Anna Feng lay in a medical pod, and the blood trickling from her eyes, ears, nose, and mouth had a strange, golden-red hue.

She struggled to grab Queen Jelena’s sleeve, her voice hoarse.

"Mother, are you really not going to save me?"

The Queen stood by the pod, her face weary, but her eyes were cold and desolate.

"If a Divine Female suffers a backlash, it means you were never qualified in the first place."

She slowly pulled her sleeve away. "If you can’t be saved, then that is your fate."

"Mother!"

Anna Feng’s pupils constricted, and her voice rose sharply.

"I was only gone for five years! And now you’re abandoning your own daughter for Su An’an’s sake?!"

The Queen did not answer. She merely turned and walked away, her back stiff and weary.

Anna Feng stared at her mother’s retreating figure. The scarlet glow in her eyes intensified until she coughed up another mouthful of blood.

She hated her mother’s indifference, hated Su An’an’s triumph.

But deep in her heart, a sliver of confusion remained.

’Hong Chengtian never mentioned the Divine Pattern would cause a backlash.’

’Did he forget to warn me, or...?’

Su An’an returned to Moonlight Palace and gently placed the two cubs in their cradle.

The little girl was sleeping soundly, her tiny hand unconsciously clutching the corner of her brother’s clothes. Her brother was curled into a ball, his own butterfly wings trembling slightly.

"Hong Chengtian is completely deranged," Su An’an cursed under her breath. "To get the cubs, he actually used Anna Feng’s life as a gambit!"

Ying Jiuyao’s tail lashed the ground in irritation.

"That lunatic schemes against his own woman!"

Night Abyss expressionlessly summoned a Light Screen, which filled with dense, flickering data.

"Anna Feng’s blood sample shows the concentration of Divine Medicine in her system has exceeded safe levels. It’s already corroding her internal organs."

Su An’an frowned. "How long does she have?"

"Three days."

Seville’s voice was flat as his fingertip traced the toxin’s diffusion pattern on the Light Screen.

"Unless the toxins from the Divine Medicine are completely purged."

Su An’an fell silent for a moment, then gave a cold laugh.

"A scheme like this... it’s sickening. For Anna Feng to end up in this state, she’s nothing more than a pawn in his hands."

She rubbed her temples. "Using someone like that... there isn’t an ounce of genuine affection in it."

Seville suddenly produced a test tube filled with dark red blood.

"Her blood. I got it."

Su An’an’s eyes lit up. "When?"

"When Anna Feng was having her seizure."

Seville said nonchalantly, his Golden Wings catching the cold light of the lamp.

"The guards at the medical pod were lax."

Ying Jiuyao’s tiger tail twitched, a teasing note in his voice.

"So you know how to steal now, too?"

Seville shot him a look. "Shut up."

Su An’an took the test tube and stared at the viscous blood inside, a cold smile playing on her lips.

"Hong Chengtian, it’s time to break your little game."

Inside the laboratory, Su An’an stared at the flickering data on the analyzer, her brow furrowing ever deeper.

Anna Feng’s blood sample was continuously broken down by the instrument until a stark red warning flashed on the screen.

"Something’s not right."

Su An’an tapped the console.

"Little Pink, run the analysis again."

A mechanical arm moved rapidly. [Detecting components of Hong Chengtian’s blood. Contains Pseudo-god Gene sequence.]

Little Pink’s Light Screen flickered non-stop:

[This gene allows his blood to control other organisms. No wonder he can manipulate Mutant Beasts and soldiers.]

"Continue analyzing for a counter," Su An’an commanded.

Little Pink quickly displayed a formula:

[Requires a mixture of the cubs’ birth hair, Gang Vine Essence, and Pure Divine Light.]

Seville stood to one side, his Golden Wings slightly spread.

"Do you need my blood?"

"Let’s try it without, first."

Su An’an nodded and began preparing the mixture according to the formula.

She carefully ground the two cubs’ birth hair into a powder, added the Gang Vine Essence, and finally infused it with her own Divine Power.

The solution gradually began to emit a soft Golden Light.

Seville suddenly cut his palm, letting his golden blood drip into the test tube.

"My blood should enhance the effect."

The solution reacted violently, roiling and boiling before finally turning into a brilliant, golden-blue liquid.

Ying Jiuyao impatiently coiled his tail around the test tube and dripped a single drop onto a Blood Erosion Beast sample in a petri dish.

"HSSSSSS."

The creature in the projection writhed in agony, its scales sloughing off in large chunks as it let out a piercing shriek.

"It worked!"

Ying Jiuyao wagged his tail in excitement.

"Now let’s see how arrogant Hong Chengtian can be!"

"He uses such dirty tricks to control people. It’s time he got a taste of his own medicine—the backlash."

Su An’an injected the antidote into a specially modified Crystal Energy Gun, where it condensed into countless tiny genetic particles.

These genetic particles just needed to be combined with other medicinal ingredients to mass-produce the antidote.

Meanwhile, in the Imperial Palace’s medical bay, Anna Feng’s condition was rapidly deteriorating.

She lay in the treatment pod as black blood trickled from the corners of her mouth. The Divine Pattern on her collarbone flickered between light and shadow.

In her coma, she dreamt she was standing by a pool of blood while Hong Chengtian gently caressed her face.

"My little butterfly, are you filled with hatred?" he asked softly.

"I hate them!"

Anna Feng murmured. "I hate them all."

"Then live," Hong Chengtian’s voice coiled around her like a venomous snake.

"All you need is the blood of the Divine Fetus, and you can become a true Divine Female."

Anna Feng’s fingernails dug deep into her palm, drawing blood.

As her consciousness faded, a thought suddenly struck her.

’Does Hong Chengtian love me, or the Divine Female?’

Back in the lab, Su An’an was finalizing the antidote’s formula.

Seville suddenly placed a hand on her shoulder.

"This formula can’t be released under your name."

"Why not?" Su An’an asked, confused.

"Right now, the person the public trusts most is Jiu Su."

Seville explained, "Releasing it under her name is the only way to ensure the public will trust and use the antidote."

Su An’an considered this for a moment, then nodded.

"You’re right. We’ll have Jiu Su announce the formula."

Ying Jiuyao was already rubbing his hands together in anticipation.

"Once the antidote is distributed, just watch me take care of that bastard Hong Chengtian!"

Seville calmly reminded him, "Not so fast. We first need to ensure the antidote can be mass-produced."

Su An’an looked at the golden genetic particles in her hand, then glanced in the direction of the medical bay, her expression resolute.

"This time, we’re ending this farce for good."
