The Villain Reborn as Game's Final Boss
Chapter 403: Sword
Leon had given me the offer to ask for his assistance before the tournament, if I required any, and well... wasting such an opportunity would have been a foolish thing to do.
"So, you want a sword?"
"Yes."
"You don’t have a sword of your own?"
Leon asked with a raised brow, prompting me to shrug my shoulders in return.
"I have the basic ones issued by the academy, and well, though they are of good quality, my opponents in the tournament wouldn’t be normal ones."
"..."
"Noah... you must have seen that guy fighting against me."
On my words, a look of realization dawned on Leon, though he didn’t speak anything else and waited for my words.
"From what I had seen during the fight, Noah’s original ability grants him a sword of mana which I feel is directly connected to the world’s mana."
I remained ambiguous in my answer.
"I can fight Noah even if he uses the ability to increase his rank, but my sword... I don’t think it will be able to last for long against his mana sword."
I had already asked Alfred and the blacksmiths under D.X to make a special sword for me which would suit my abilities and fighting style, and they had indeed begun working on it, but given the quality of the sword that I wanted... it was going to take some serious time and resources to make it.
So till then, it wouldn’t be bad to get a sword using the resources available at the disposal of House Black.
"Alright, so tell me, what type of sword do you need?"
After a moment’s silence, Leon easily agreed to my demand, which should have been a given thing, yet I couldn’t help but feel a little goodwill towards him.
"Nothing much. Just use materials at the Immortal level so that the sword remains usable for a long time, and well... I will leave the design and other details to you."
"..."
My demands were pretty reasonable, yet looking at the expression on Leon’s face... it didn’t seem to be the case.
"You sure are being considerate in your demands. Not asking for using materials at the Sovereign level is in itself a great control on your part—"
"If you can provide materials at Sovereign rank, then that would be great—"
"No! I mean... the sword will be sent to you according to your original demands."
Leon looked a little anxious as he spoke the words.
Were the Blacks facing financial troubles for him to be on such a guard against me?
"I will contact you later."
Saying the words, Leon left the area, and for some reason I found the pace of his steps a little faster than his normal—
Maybe... it was just my imagination.

The tournament was on its way, and though I was fairly strong... I had to get stronger.
Not only in the level of my cultivation, but also in the way I fought.
When facing Noah or any other opponent I had to use more spells so as to completely overpower them.
My techniques were strong enough and I had practiced them quite thoroughly, so that wasn’t going to pose much of a problem.
In case of abilities... I could stretch the limit of Mirage clone from its present limit of seven clones, which should have already been expanded after I became a Gold 3.
And I could feel it.
At my current power level I could form around eight clones without burdening my core, as for forming the rest... it would have a considerable impact on my body during combat.
As for my barrier spell, it was a basic one, and its strength depended on how much mana I was ready to sacrifice for forming its circuit as well as to keep it operational during combat.
The more mana that I could provide, the stronger my barrier would be.
In terms of the means of attack, I had till date learnt four major attack spells.
Taking a deep breath, I channelled mana through my core, forming the circuit of my first attack spell.
With it being a major spell, the circuit was a little complicated one, so it was given for it to take some time.
There was a reason why I had come specifically to the training facility, as I wanted to rehearse all the attack options available at my disposal, while forming new types of combos involving several different attacks, so as to create the maximum destruction possible during live combat.
Haa...
It had been more than twenty seconds, and the circuit of the spell was nearly completed, as I channelled another wave of mana in it, while the circuit materialised itself above me.
"Imertio."
The moment I whispered the words, an unrestrained rain of fire was released from the circuit before it launched itself in all directions.
Using mana to guide the spell, I focused the fire in a single direction, and channelled more mana to increase its power.
Almost all of my spells were taught to me by Arthur, as the guy had specifically handpicked the best spells suitable for me, as well as those... that weren’t too difficult to learn for me.
Though every spell, irrespective of whether it was a major or a minor spell... wasn’t something that could be easily learned.
It was due to my immense mana control and... well, my intelligence played a large part in it, as I was quickly able to analyse the structure of the spell, and replicate it in the form that was the most suitable for my body.
The fire had now been focused straight ahead, as it clashed against the wall of the training room, and for a moment it appeared like the wall might just get destroyed, but fortunately... none of that occurred, at least not yet.
Still, what I was trying to learn today wasn’t just the application of my spells, but using multiple of them at the same time.
Honestly, I wasn’t trying to learn it, as I already knew how to cast two spells at the same time... it was just that I wanted to practice it thoroughly, as executing two attack spells at the same time could put a considerable burden on my mana core.
