Chapter 195: Chapter 194: Strengthened Graveyard Demon

"When this Mobile City was dragged back, its head and body were separate."

Crow’s Caw landed on Gu Su’s shoulder, its bony beak gesturing downward.

"It was deliberately arranged to look like this."

Gu Su said nothing, merely standing on the wall and silently watching the behemoth below, which was enveloped in Corroding Mycelium.

From his current vantage point, the thing truly resembled a gigantic, three-headed human corpse.

The three heads were arranged side by side. Below them lay an equally massive torso, wound so tightly with white mycelium that its original material and structure were completely obscured.

If Crow’s Caw hadn’t explained beforehand, anyone who saw it would have assumed it was the remains of some giant.

But it was a Mobile City.

Gu Su’s gaze swept slowly over the contours covered by the mycelium. The three heads were similar in size and arranged with perfect neatness, as if someone had deliberately aligned them.

The body below the necks was considerably longer. At this moment, the mycelium was cinching it tighter layer by layer, emitting faint creaking sounds of compression.

He said nothing, just stood there.

An hour passed.

...

During that time, no Undead disturbed him.

When the last bit of material finally vanished into the depths of the mycelium, all that remained where the three-headed behemoth had been was a patch of compacted earth.

In that instant, the Graveyard Demon began to tremble.

It wasn’t a violent lurch, but a low, continuous tremor originating from deep within the earth.

The wall beneath Gu Su’s feet trembled, the distant Deceitful Tree trembled, and even the previously motionless Red Balloons began to sway gently.

Immediately after, all the Corroding Mycelium within the Graveyard Demon began to float up simultaneously.

They rose from the cracks at the base of the wall, from beneath the soil at the edge of the Withered Wood Forest, and from every inch of ground surrounding the Yin Fire Heap.

Countless strands of snow-white thread ascended at once, like snowflakes flying in reverse, slowly spiraling upward as if drawn by some unseen Power.

The mycelium intertwined, coiled, and dispersed in the air, finally transforming into a sky full of fine motes of light that slowly vanished into the fading twilight.

Gu Su looked up, watching the white motes of light drift over his head, past the highest branches of the Deceitful Tree, past the giant Red Balloons, and finally merge into the dusky gray sky.

When he looked down again, the Graveyard Demon had been completely transformed.

First, its area.

The Graveyard Demon’s scale had undergone a monumental transformation. Its footprint had expanded to nearly three times its original size, now covering approximately 2,357 square meters.

The interior of the Graveyard Demon now formed a perfect rectangle adhering to the golden ratio. Precise measurements put it at 61.7 meters long and 38.2 meters wide, an area roughly half the size of a standard soccer field. The wide-open space was a far cry from its former cramped state.

The two-story building Gu Su had first constructed still stood at the very edge of the Graveyard Demon, but the number of Artillery platforms on its left and right sides had grown far beyond the original scale. There were now five on each side.

A five-meter-diameter Red Balloon floated at each of the four corners.

In addition, similar balloons floated above the walls at intervals of about fifteen meters. Arranged in neat rows, they had forcefully lifted the entire Graveyard Demon from the ground.

He turned to look north.

That was where the control room, Map Room, and Watchtower were located.

The changes were most pronounced on this side.

The platform, once flush against the wall, now extended significantly outward, jutting out beyond the ramparts like a massive balcony.

The control room’s patchwork glass window was still there, but numerous Metal braces now reinforced the frame, making it look far sturdier than before.

Most eye-catching of all, embedded in the outer wall on this side, were three human heads with gaping mouths.

The three heads stood side-by-side, each one taller than two men. Their mouths were stretched wide open, revealing dark, cavernous throats within.

A thick wooden beam jutted out from each mouth. The tip of each beam was sheathed in Metal, resembling the spike of a battering ram.

Gu Su stared at the three heads for a few seconds, his brow furrowing slightly.

These were components salvaged from the three-headed Mobile City—in fact, they were those very same giant heads.

Clearly, they were weapons for frontal assault. When the Graveyard Demon needed to ram an enemy head-on, these three battering rams would be quite effective.

But the problem was that his Graveyard Demon was at least fifteen meters tall from the outside.

The two-story building, combined with the vines and reinforced layers at the base, gave it a considerable height. Battering rams mounted at this position couldn’t possibly hit a shorter enemy.

And all his Artillery was mounted on the left and right walls. He had little use for something like a frontal charge.

’It’s of limited use.’

Gu Su shook his head but said no more. ’It was a freebie, so it’s better than nothing.’

He withdrew his gaze and looked inward, along the wall.

The interior of the Graveyard Demon was bisected by a straight road, dividing it into left and right halves.

The road wasn’t wide, but it was perfectly straight. Its surface was freshly turned, damp earth, and the land on either side had been neatly flattened.

Near the main gate was the Main Tomb Area.

On each side of the road was a sizable plot of land.

On the land to the left, familiar large Gravepiles and Large Tombstones were scattered about. Some were already fully occupied, while others were still empty.

The right side was the same, but Gu Su noticed that besides the old graves already filled with Undead, many new Empty Tombs had been dug on both plots.

The burial plots were uniform in size with neatly trimmed edges, simply waiting for new Undead to take up residence.

Past the Main Tomb Area was the Deceitful Tree.

The massive Deceitful Tree still stood in its original spot, its trunk emitting a soft, ethereal glow and its hanging branches swaying without a breeze.

But the area on either side of it was no longer the sparse Withered Wood Forest from before. To its left was still the Withered Wood Forest, yes, but to its right was a patch of woods he had never seen before.

A Swamp Forest.

The trees’ trunks were half-buried in the damp soil, with their roots exposed. Their leaves were a sickly, ink-green color.

The ground within the forest was noticeably lower than the surrounding area, covered in a thin layer of water. Fine, blood-red duckweed floated on the surface. It was clear that the plants Gu Su had sowed earlier had already taken root and sprouted here.

The outlines of several Empty Tombs were faintly visible deep within the woods, as if deliberately concealed in the shadows.

Gu Su’s gaze went past the Deceitful Tree, settling on the area deeper inside.

At the far end of the Graveyard Demon, the road forked into three small paths, dividing the final area into three even sections.

His living quarters, which served as the Graveyard Demon’s Control core; the Yin Fire Heap, its energy core; and the Deserted Twisted Corridor each occupied one of these plots, forming the mobile city’s core functional zone.

Gu Su stood on the wall, looking down at his brand-new Mobile City, and was silent for a long time.

Then, he let out a soft breath.

’This was what he wanted.’
