Chapter 151: Chapter 150: The Enemy Appears

Crow’s Caw looked down at the pipe opening, which was only slightly larger than a person’s fist. After a moment’s thought, he slowly shook his head, a hint of helplessness in his voice. "My Lord, this opening is too narrow. Even Drilling Mountain wouldn’t be able to get inside to investigate."

"Alright."

Gu Su sighed softly, his fingertips unconsciously stroking the Plague Cutter at his waist as the doubt in his heart grew stronger.

’He couldn’t shake the feeling that this seemingly insignificant little pipe was no accident. It had to connect to some unknown location.’

’Perhaps it led to another secret base hidden behind this underground bunker.’

’Or maybe to a mysterious, undiscovered area buried even deeper underground.’

After all, most military plans account for the worst-case scenario.

This was clearly one of various Communication pipelines, to be used when radio contact was lost.

If it was just for contacting a few other bunkers, a pipeline of this quality would be a waste.

Only a much larger underground base would need something like this.

The more he thought about it, the more the doubt in Gu Su’s eyes faded, replaced by a sharp glint. He quickly made up his mind and looked up at Crow’s Caw in the air, commanding, "Notify Bone Ash immediately. Tell him to bring the prepared Corroding Mycelium here."

"Understood!"

Crow’s Caw didn’t dare delay for even a moment. It sprang into the air, its flapping wings kicking up a light breeze as it turned and flew away.

While Crow’s Caw was relaying the order, Gu Su didn’t linger. He turned and walked slowly out of the bunker’s entrance, returning to the surface.

The battlefield was still desolate. In the distance, ruins were faintly visible in the twilight, and the air was filled with the mixed scent of dust and the Yin Qi of the Undead.

He had just steadied himself when several familiar plumes of Black Fog began to spread nearby.

Immediately after, Bone Ash appeared before Gu Su with five pickup trucks.

The bed of each pickup was packed to the brim with snow-white Corroding Mycelium, which glowed faintly in the twilight and gave off a weak scent of decay.

Gu Su strode forward and gave a crisp order, "There’s a map inside the bunker. It marks the locations of several other bunkers of a similar scale nearby.

Take your men and pour all this Corroding Mycelium into them.

And remember this: next to the map, there’s a fist-sized pipe opening. Pour as much as you can in there. Fill the pipe up as much as possible."

Bone Ash understood immediately. Without any further questions, he gave a slight nod, then turned and gestured to his subordinates.

The Skeletons of the Ash Squad sprang into action. They methodically unloaded the Corroding Mycelium from the pickups and proceeded steadily down the bunker entrance, beginning their deployment according to Gu Su’s instructions.

As for Gu Su, after giving his orders, he took an off-road vehicle and quickly returned to the Graveyard Demon.

After all, the battlefield was fraught with danger. No one could predict when the enemy might launch a surprise attack, and exposing himself on the open battlefield like this was undoubtedly a significant risk.

With the situation still unclear, retreating to the Graveyard Demon was not only for his own safety but also to better oversee the entire situation and command the battle. As for exploring and patrolling the battlefield, leaving it to his Undead Squads was safe enough.

Gu Su had just retreated within the walls of the Graveyard Demon, before he could even finish finalizing the details of his defenses, when the color of the sky suddenly changed.

The sky, which had still been washed with the afterglow of sunset, was now silently stained by a strange, fluorescent purple. The light was hazy and eerie, instantly dispelling the twilight and blanketing the entire battlefield in an unnatural violet glow, exuding a heart-pounding sense of oppression.

This unnatural sight made Gu Su’s heart tighten, and he instantly knew what it meant.

’The enemy is coming.’

His gaze sharpened, and a sense of urgency rose within him. He never would have thought the enemy would arrive so quickly. With many of his defensive preparations still incomplete, the situation was unavoidably Passive.

Fortunately, however, the bizarre purple light wasn’t a physical attack—it was merely a sound and light effect.

The sky was now completely enveloped in purple light, but the enemy still hadn’t appeared.

’Gu Su calmed himself slightly and speculated internally. ’This is probably the first line of defense on the outskirts of the battlefield making contact with the enemy. The enemy just hasn’t managed to break through the front line yet, which is why this is happening.’’

’But judging by the way the sky has been completely dyed this color, this beast tide is probably going to be a big one.’

While quickly contemplating the current situation, Gu Su didn’t dare to delay for a moment. He immediately began deploying his forces on the main battlefield.

He quickly dispatched his Undead Squads, adjusting their defensive formations and reinforcing the wall’s defense line. Every step was arranged in an orderly and methodical fashion.

As Crow’s Caw continuously relayed reconnaissance intel, streams of key information flowed to Gu Su. He gradually developed a comprehensive and clear understanding of the overall battlefield situation.

Gu Su even had the presence of mind to divide the entire area into different combat coordinates based on the battlefield’s topography. This would allow him to dispatch forces with precision, quickly reinforce various battlefield nodes, and greatly increase combat efficiency during the coming battle.

About thirty minutes later, a Stinging Eyes crimson bolt of lightning suddenly streaked across the purple-shrouded sky. With a crackle, it tore through the violet clouds, instantly illuminating the entire battlefield before vanishing without a trace.

After the lightning faded, countless specks of golden light streaked across the sky like falling meteors, hurtling toward the ground in a dense swarm, accompanied by a whistling wind.

The meteors seemed to be moving fast, but their speed across the sky wasn’t all that great, and Gu Su could tell at a glance that they were still quite far away.

They were even flying at an altitude beyond his usual reach.

’I wonder if these meteors will be intercepted.’

Sure enough, just as Gu Su was thinking about this, the meteors in the sky seemed to be affected by something and exploded outright.

A large number of the meteors were extinguished, but some changed direction.

One of the points of light was particularly fierce, hurtling straight toward Gu Su’s position on the battlefield.

’What the hell!’

Gu Su muttered to himself.

He instantly understood. The enemy had broken through the outer defensive line. The real battle was about to begin.

He no longer hesitated. He stood up decisively, his aura instantly turning sharp as he issued his final combat orders to the Undead Squads under his command.

Almost at the exact moment the order was given, a deafening roar erupted from a location about three thousand meters from the Graveyard Demon.
