Chapter 112 - 110: Gu Su’s Good Friend and the Treacherous Merchant
Chapter 112: Chapter 110: Gu Su’s Good Friend and the Treacherous Merchant
"Pah! Are you dreaming? A hundred corpses?"
Liu Zu’s temper flared the moment he heard this. He rolled his eyes and cursed without holding back, his tone filled with exasperation and complaint. "We know each other so well, and you still dare to joke with me like this? A hundred corpses? Do you have any idea how big a target that would be? Forget getting them to the mining area—we’d get caught by patrolling players just trying to move them out of the graveyard district!
You might as well just have me lie down and be one of your corpses!"
Gu Su didn’t get angry. He knew Liu Zu was telling the truth; a hundred corpses was indeed impractical.
After his outburst, Liu Zu’s tone softened. He thought for a moment, then stated his bottom line. "Two at most. I can only help you bring in two. Any more than that is really impossible. It’s too conspicuous.
But I can find a good spot for you. It’ll both increase the success rate of your Soul Summoning Technique and, under the cover of the chaos, you can secretly turn the summoned Undead into Zombies without being easily discovered."
Hearing this, Gu Su just shook his head slightly. He didn’t press the issue, saying casually, "Forget it, two it is. No need to go to all that trouble. Just help me bring a couple of corpses that are easy to move. Anything too bulky will be a pain to handle."
In truth, when Gu Su initially asked for a hundred corpses, he never really intended to transport that many. The idea was to leverage the special Traits of his Soul Summoning Technique and see if he could summon a High Tier Undead from a large number of bodies.
After all, his Graveyard Demon was still stored away in Ghost Valley, not with him. His Skeleton Undead Team had also been left behind. At this moment, he had almost no useful combat power at his side.
His opponents, the Cyan Ghost Gang, were a small but organized gang. While most of their members were Level 1 Game Workers without Golden Fingers who could only scrape by through mining, they still had a few official players with basic combat abilities.
If his Graveyard Demon were with him, he wouldn’t fear a force even stronger than the Cyan Ghost Gang, let alone that small fry.
But as he was now, all alone and without any backup, he had no intention of attempting a frontal Assassination on the Cyan Ghost Gang’s players. His strategy had always been simple and sound.
No direct confrontations. A sneak attack under the cover of chaos, a single successful strike, then a swift retreat. It would settle the grudge and allow him to escape unscathed.
Liu Zu was unaware of these schemes brewing in Gu Su’s mind. He didn’t know the corpses were for dealing with the Cyan Ghost Gang; he just assumed Gu Su wanted to take advantage of the chaos in the mining area to summon a few Undead, do some secret mining, and rake in some profit.
He had no intention of refusing Gu Su’s small request in the first place, so when he saw Gu Su was no longer insisting on a hundred corpses, he agreed readily.
Just as Liu Zu nodded in agreement, muttering, "Alright, leave it to me. I’ll head to the graveyard district in a bit to pick out two," Gu Su reached out and pushed open the door to his rented capsule home.
The door swung open with a CREAK, revealing a simple, crude interior that bore the marks of his three years living in the Night Ghost Market.
He turned, gave Liu Zu a small wave, his tone a mixture of relief and reluctance. "Brother Liu, you know my current situation.
If I’d gotten one of the other three types of Golden Fingers, I might have been able to stay here a while longer. It wouldn’t have mattered where I lived.
But I got an Earth Type Golden Finger. The Graveyard Demon is my domain, so from now on, I’ll definitely have to live on my own territory. I’m afraid I can’t stay in this capsule home for much longer."
After a pause, Gu Su continued, his gaze sweeping over the room’s contents. "I just wanted to come back and grab a few things. They’re just small objects I’ve gotten used to over the last three years, things I’d miss. They’re not valuable, but they’re keepsakes. ℴℴ𝘮
As for everything else, see if there’s anything you need. Whether it’s ore, tools, or some basic Undead materials, it’s all yours. It’d be a waste to just leave it here."
