After selecting the Subordinate Corpse Explosion Skill, Gu Su felt the new Skill Energy flowing within him. He wasted no time, immediately calling up his personal Attribute Panel to carefully examine his stats after leveling up and confirm that every change was as expected.

[Name: Gu Su]

[Class: Undead Mage]

[Level: 2 (2/10)]

[Title: None]

[Talent: Graveyard Demon (Earth Attribute)]

[Attributes: Power 1.1, agility 1.0, Constitution 2.3, Spirit 2.9]

[Active Skills: Soul Summoning Technique (Level 3), Subordinate Corpse Explosion (Level 1)]

[Passive Skills: Basic Science (Level 3 + Level 2), Basic Language (Level 2), Undead Knowledge (Level 2), Basic Survival (Level 2)]

[Experience: 217/400]

Looking at the numbers on the panel, Gu Su nodded inwardly.

After this level-up, his experience bar for the current level was already more than halfway full. He was less than 200 Experience away from Level 3. ’Looks like the next level-up is just around the corner.’

Satisfied, Gu Su dismissed the Attribute Panel and walked out of the tent. A palpable sense of ease radiated from him.

Both his own level-up and the Graveyard Demon’s upgrade gave him a bit more confidence about establishing a foothold in the Game World.

As soon as he stepped out of the tent, Gu Su saw that most of the Undead he had sent out to search for supplies had already returned. Skeletons weaved through the Graveyard Demon’s grounds, each carrying varying amounts of gathered materials.

Some carried thick logs of Wood, others held scattered Metal fragments, and still others dragged the skeletons of bizarre creatures, heading toward the supply storage area in a chaotic yet orderly fashion.

However, Gu Su also clearly noticed a difference.

Only the two teams commanded by Bone Forest and Odd-Eyes had clear objectives and the ability to discern value. They mostly brought back practical, high-quality materials, usable metals, and bizarre creature components—all good things that the Graveyard Demon could use for future upgrades and development.

The remaining Ordinary Skeletons without a dedicated commander, however, were far more haphazard. They brought back whatever they happened to find. Some even carried useless, tattered plastics and discarded fabrics that had no value whatsoever.

Looking at the somewhat chaotic scene, Gu Su didn’t reprimand them too harshly.

After all, Ordinary Skeletons lacked the independent ability to distinguish value; it was good enough that they had returned safely with anything at all. He simply waved his hand at Crow’s Caw, who was waiting by his side, signaling it to relay his orders for all returning Undead to quickly return to their posts and not linger, so as to not interfere with subsequent arrangements.

Several new Empty Tombs had been added to the Main Cemetery Area earlier but had not yet been put to use. Gu Su took this opportunity, with all the Undead back in place, to make new deployments.

He had Bone Forest take the Suburban Wolf and Snake Fang squads to set up a separate garrison at one of the Empty Tombs. They would be responsible for guarding the perimeter of the Graveyard Demon and would also be able to mobilize quickly for future missions.

Hearing Gu Su’s command, the ghostly fire in Bone Forest’s eyes flickered; he seemed quite pleased.

’This means I get my own exclusive garrison area.’

Without a hint of hesitation, he immediately waved at Suburban Wolf and Snake Fang, leading the two squads briskly to the Empty Tomb Gu Su had assigned him. He pulled the Four-sided Banner from his back and firmly planted it in the soil atop the Empty Tomb.

The moment the banner was planted, a bizarre scene unfolded.

The ground near the Empty Tomb began to tremble slightly. A steady stream of moist earth surged up from below, slowly piling up and mounding along the edges of the tomb. In the blink of an eye, the originally flat Empty Tomb had transformed into a large, raised Gravepile, looking no different from the other inhabited gravepiles.

A crude stone tablet automatically materialized in front of the Gravepile, clearly inscribed with the words, "Bone Forest’s Unit, Suburban Wolf, Snake Fang," unequivocally marking its ownership.

With that, the large Gravepile where Bone Forest and his unit had originally been stationed was now half-empty.

Gu Su’s gaze swept over it, and he began arranging for Ordinary Skeletons to move into that Gravepile to fill the vacancy.

Gu Su’s reasoning was simple.

For now, he would fill all the Level 1 Empty Tombs to activate as many new Undead Minions and Bosses as possible.

On one hand, he wanted to assign some Minions with combat Talents to assist core Bosses like Bone Forest, improving the overall combat effectiveness of his forces.

On the other hand, he was even more desperate to find some Bosses with work-related Talents to share the burden of the Graveyard Demon’s daily operations.

After all, Gu Su currently only had two Minions with clearly defined work roles: Bone Ash and Tooth Bone.

Bone Ash excelled at Scavenging and could always find useful materials.

Tooth Bone was proficient in repairs, responsible for maintaining the Graveyard Demon’s structures and equipment. While both were very useful and could handle things on their own, it was obviously not enough for just two of them to manage all the miscellaneous tasks of the entire Graveyard Demon.

Not to mention, when the Graveyard Demon leveled up from Level 1 to Level 2, its area would expand to over seven thousand square meters—nearly ten times its current size. At that point, everything from building maintenance and resource management to Undead dispatch and Defense placement would require a massive amount of manpower.

Gu Su had to get the personnel ready before the Graveyard Demon’s upgrade and be fully prepared to avoid scrambling later.

As Gu Su’s orders were given, Ordinary Skeletons marched neatly into the designated Gravepiles. For every twenty or so that entered, the Gravepile would tremble slightly.

Then, a new Undead Minion or Boss would slowly climb out of the Gravepile’s soil, exuding a faint Undead Energy. They would bow to Gu Su and await his command.

For Gu Su, the results of this new round of activations were neither good nor bad. There were no major surprises, but no disappointments either.

After a quick count, a total of four Minions and one Boss had been activated. Unfortunately, only one of the Minions possessed a work-related Talent; the rest were all combat-oriented.

Red Bone, Minion. Talent: Planting. When cultivating plants, their growth speed increases by 20%.

Red Bone’s Planting Talent was a rare work-related one, perfect for cultivating the Deceitful Trees and the Withered Wood Forest within the Graveyard Demon, as well as planting various other flora. He was essentially a farmer.

Bone Joint, Boss. Talent: Rapid Attack. The Attack speed of all troops under his command increases by 50%. This was an extremely strong combat support Talent that could significantly boost the damage output of his subordinates, making him a frontal combat-type Boss completely different from Bone Forest.

Thick Arm, Minion. Talent: Power. The Power of all Skeletons under his command +1. A pure combat power amplification Talent that could enhance a team’s offensive capabilities.

Broken Bones, Minion. Talent: Patchwork Repair. When Skeletons under his command are injured, they can seize enemy bones to quickly repair themselves, greatly increasing the squad’s Endurance and reducing casualties.

Curse Wind, Minion. Talent: Weakness Curse. Attacks from Skeletons under his command will carry a Weakness Curse effect, which can subtly weaken the enemy’s combat strength. When paired with Bone Forest’s troops, the effect would be multiplied.

After reviewing all the new leaders’ Talents, Gu Su immediately made his assignments.

He assigned Curse Wind to Bone Forest.

Additionally, Broken Bones and Thick Arm were temporarily assigned to Bone Joint. By combining their Talents with Bone Joint’s Rapid Attack, they would form a close-combat squad with high damage output and high Endurance.

At the same time, Gu Su also promised Bone Joint that once new Empty Tombs became available, he would also establish an exclusive Gravepile for him so he could have his own independent garrison.

While Gu Su was methodically organizing his Undead minions, arranging their deployments, and planning future personnel allocation, time was quietly ticking away. The moment he was scheduled to exit the novice world, as indicated by the system, was drawing ever closer.

Suddenly, a crisp DING! rang in Gu Su’s ear.

[ID 629SHD2S0FXC30, you are about to exit the novice world 5QPRPZ222FT. Please prepare for departure.]

The instant the notification sound faded, a bizarre black mist appeared out of thin air without any warning. It spread rapidly, firmly pinning Gu Su, the Graveyard Demon, and all the Undead in place, rendering them immobile.

Immediately after, a denser gray fog surged in from all directions, swallowing everything in sight like a tidal wave. In just a few seconds, it completely erased all traces of Gu Su and the Graveyard Demon’s existence, as if they had never been there, leaving behind only vast, dead silence.
