"Miss Winston, perhaps you could suggest to the gentleman that dinner be held at the manor. We’ve been preparing every day since we heard you both returned," the old butler looked at Chloe Winston eagerly.

"I’ll try to mention it to him." Chloe gave the old butler a slight smile. Since they were already willing to come to the ancestral home, they might as well dine there; otherwise, she really feared the old butler might weep on the spot.

Chloe arrived in the afternoon, which was not particularly early, and accompanied the Stewart family’s old butler to the ancestral home. She had afternoon tea with a few ladies, chatted in the garden, mostly listening to Constantine Stewart’s aunt and two aunts, and the time passed swiftly.

By evening, Constantine Stewart arrived at the Stewart Family ancestral home, accompanied by two uncles and an aunt.

The man noticed the young girl wearing a fresh mint green outfit of early spring, her charming wavy long hair sitting sweetly among the Stewart family relatives, smiling while listening to their chat, causing his heart to beat fast and his steps to quicken.

"The gentleman is back." The old butler, seeing Constantine Stewart’s tall and imposing figure from afar, exclaimed excitedly.

The Countess and the three ladies of the Stewart family stood up unconsciously, all looking at Stewart family’s grandson, who had grown into a towering tree. Constantine Stewart had been away for years but had control over the Stewart family’s business. Over more than two decades, he increased the family’s assets by hundreds of times.

As this young man’s influence and position grew, the Stewart family members felt more unease, fearing he would bring up old, trivial matters that could hinder their livelihood. So everyone was quite tense about Constantine Stewart’s arrival.

Constantine walked through the Stewart family’s vibrant garden, approached Chloe, and stroked her hair, asking in a low voice, "Are you comfortable staying here?"

"Everything’s great; the butler is very welcoming, and the ladies are quite kind." Chloe, feeling her hair burning from his affectionate touch, replied.

Constantine nodded and smiled at the old butler, asking about recent events, meanwhile leaving the Countess and older family members aside.

The Countess felt unfazed, seeing him step into the Stewart Family ancestral home, noticing they remained calm and feeling relieved, especially seeing Stewart’s two younger uncles standing constrained beside her, feeling even more at ease.

Her son, now the head of the Stewart family, had everyone watching his mood.

Chloe looked at the two middle-aged men behind Constantine, seeing their enthusiastic smiles and cautious expressions; she understood they were probably Constantine’s uncles.

Constantine did not introduce his two uncles to Chloe, maintaining his gentlemanly demeanor, nodded to the three ladies, and then gently inquired about Chloe’s evening plans.

Chloe looked at the old butler, noticing his eager gaze. She reached out, tugged his sleeve, and whispered in his ear, "Why don’t we have dinner here tonight and return to the hotel afterward?"

The man slightly lowered his eyes, his long lashes covering his brown pupils, looked deeply at the young girl and, seeing her expectant look, nodded.

The old butler cheerfully ordered the servants to prepare dinner, and Constantine’s uncles and aunt rejoiced.

Though the atmosphere was awkward, the Stewart family gathered for dinner. Even the Countess shamelessly stayed.

Though Constantine’s expression remained cold and he spoke few words, only chatting with Chloe and the old butler, the Stewart family conversed among themselves, spending the evening peacefully.

After dinner, the Countess and others departed. Constantine took Chloe to the family shrine for a brief prayer, and when they emerged, his expression was enigmatic.

"Those who just left are my two younger uncles and an aunt. You’ve met my mother. Chloe, after we remarry, I still don’t want to introduce them to you," Constantine said with a slightly hoarse voice, embracing her slim waist from behind and gently kissing her hair.

Chloe sensed that since they returned to the Stewart Family ancestral home, his mood had been low, and she hugged him, whispering, "Constantine, seeing you like this makes my heart ache."

For the first time, he showed his vulnerability and sadness before her, making him more real, and causing her to feel they were each other’s anchor.

Constantine heard her, chuckled softly, hugged her tighter in the cold Paris wind, and said in a hoarse voice, "Then we’ll care for each other for life."

Lifelong? Chloe nodded, saying, "Then it’s a lifetime."

In the Stewart family’s century-old French-style castle, the man stood beneath the dim streetlight, hugging the person in his arms tighter, then spoke gently, "Chloe, let’s remarry tomorrow."

Chloe had all her documents with her, and the remarriage procedures could be quickly processed.

Chloe paused—remarry? Tomorrow? In Paris? The night wind cleared her thoughts.

"Mmm, this time I’ll be better than last. This life, apart from you, I don’t want to explore marriage with another woman," the man, tall and upright due to nerves, released her, looked seriously into her eyes, asking earnestly, "Alright?"

The man’s refined and elegant features were accentuated by the light’s glow, appearing even more tender, lacking a grand proposal scene, sweet words, and vows; it was a second marriage. Chloe watched his earnest face, her heart racing, and while she should have decisively refused him or agreed on a prenuptial agreement, it would mean little. She had tried standing apart from the influence he had over her, wanting to remove the mark he left on her since fifteen.

"Do you want kids?" she blurted out.

Upon hearing her, Constantine’s nerves vanished, tightly hugging her, and chuckled, "You should ask how much my assets are, how to draft the prenuptial agreement, rather than whether to have kids."

Such a silly girl. Constantine laughed lowly, suddenly considering his young lady a treasure.

"You can have as many as you wish." Mr. Stewart smiled, his warm broad palm gently pressing against her flat belly, with a voice both hoarse and sultry, "Maybe there already is one."

Chloe’s face flushed instantly, trying to escape his embrace but ended up held tighter.

"Then let’s remarry!" Her voice lowered to a whisper.

"Hmm? I didn’t hear that." The arc of the man’s lips grew larger, lifting her petite frame, resting his forehead against hers, breathing heavily, then chuckling deeply, "Chloe, say it again."
