the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart
Chapter 1489 - 1479: He and Ah Chu Must Always Be Happy Together
Chloe Winston followed Constantine Stewart over, and the people in the industry were taken aback when they saw them. Most of the main actors from the crew were there, and once the director and investors learned that Mr. Stewart was present, they immediately stood up to greet him.
This mogul is notoriously generous in the industry. If someone can build a relationship with him, they wouldn’t have to worry about movie investments in the future, even though he already owns a film company.
"Mr. Stewart, hello, I’m Mao Shan. Are you here to accompany Miss Chloe?" Director Mao Shan, not yet thirty, is a young rising star. This time, he took on this youth film and even invited a retired teacher from Hong Kong to guide it, determined to make a name for himself.
His teacher hadn’t come over this year, leaving Mao Shan with the crew’s staff. Over the past year, Mr. Stewart has been actively present in the Entertainment Sector and is considered the most down-to-earth celebrity with excellent public favor.
The public had already seen Constantine Stewart’s stunning looks on variety shows, but seeing him in person, they realized his aura was overwhelming, dominating the scene, truly worthy of being a famous business giant.
Constantine Stewart gave a warm smile to the other party, elegantly slipped his hand into his pants pocket, and said in a low voice, "How long will the filming take this time? Please take good care of our Chloe in the future."
This statement by Constantine Stewart left Mao Shan pleasantly surprised. He’s a second-generation star in the directing circle, having a head start due to his father being a director. Seeing Constantine Stewart being so courteous, he quickly replied with a smile, "It’ll take about a month to film. You’re too polite, Mr. Stewart. How is Chloe?"
Mao Shan and the people around him all put on polite smiles, glancing at Constantine Stewart with a gossiping curiosity. Wasn’t Chloe and Charles Taylor a couple? Why is Constantine Stewart bringing her over, and speaking so openly? Is Chloe aiming to marry into a wealthy family?
Chloe was applying makeup on the side and did not come over to greet him. If it were other actors being aloof, it might be seen as arrogance, but with Constantine Stewart personally coming over to chat, people just felt honored. After all, he’s not someone just anyone can casually talk to.
"Ah, Chloe has been in low spirits lately and doesn’t like to talk, so I personally brought her over, hoping that the filming might bring a change. I will be accompanying her throughout this shoot," Constantine Stewart said concisely, explaining Chloe’s state while expressing his commitment to the shoot.
Mr. Stewart will accompany the entire shoot? Mao Shan was taken aback, suddenly reminded of previous rumors in the industry. The fantasy blockbuster "Deep Abyss" was a massive hit, with stellar ratings and feedback. Reportedly, during that film’s production, Chloe played the third female lead, and the entire crew lived lavishly. Even his father marveled that Faust lived in a villa, drank fine wines, and flaunted his lifestyle on social media—was it all true?
Mao Shan felt overwhelmed by having a golden opportunity fall into his lap and excitedly rubbed his hands together, smiling, "Welcome, Mr. Stewart, to join our crew. If Chloe is feeling unwell, she doesn’t have to film today. Today is just the opening ceremony, and the main actors are just burning incense for good luck. We can start filming once Chloe is ready."
Constantine Stewart nodded, smiled courteously, and said, "No need for special treatment. Interacting with more people might help alleviate her low spirits. If the crew needs anything, just talk to my assistant."
Constantine Stewart deliberately brought the young lady for filming. Keeping her cooped up at home would only make her shut in like an ostrich, all dazed and silly. Even though time could heal, Constantine Stewart couldn’t wait and brought her to the crew to pressure Chloe into overcoming her crisis.
"I am Zheng Gu, Mr. Stewart’s assistant. Mr. Stewart intends to invest in the crew, so if you need anything, just contact me." Zheng Gu stepped forward to hand out his business card, implying Mr. Stewart was here to support the entire crew.
Mao Shan was thrilled almost to the point of jumping up; here was a golden investor, and the crew was about to flourish.
Constantine Stewart, having said all he needed, nodded to the crew members and returned to Chloe, quietly watching her apply makeup.
With this god of wealth standing there, the entire crew buzzed with excitement, flocking to Mao Shan with questions.
"Director Mao, why is Mr. Stewart here with the crew?"
"Is Mr. Stewart planning to invest in our production? Are we moving into a presidential suite?"
"No, when did Mr. Stewart and Chloe get together? Are the rumors online true? Oh my god?"
"Isn’t Chloe with Charles Taylor? A love triangle?"
"Are you stupid? Chloe and Charles don’t even interact publicly. They might just be contract lovers. If it were me, I’d choose Mr. Stewart too—handsome, wealthy, the cream of the crop."
The crowd gossiping excitedly gathered around, chatting eagerly.
"Enough chit-chatting, get back to work," Mao Shan playfully scolded, feeling utterly satisfied. This time, his father would be envious of him. Being backed by a tycoon felt wonderful.
With Chloe’s makeup complete, the main actors of the crew went about the usual ritual of burning incense to pray for a smooth production.
With Constantine Stewart present and his strong aura, despite Chloe’s slightly dazed demeanor, no one seemed to mind, as all eyes were on Mr. Stewart.
Constantine Stewart was accustomed to all kinds of attention and paid it no mind, focusing solely on Chloe. Seeing her, though still silent, moving smoothly and responding to external stimuli, completing the incense ritual without prompts, he showed a gratified smile.
Fortunately, the young lady is professional, and the busy work could help her temporarily forget the blow of discovering her roots.
Originally, Mao Shan didn’t plan to film Chloe’s scenes today. However, seeing her quiet demeanor, closely matching the lead female’s aura upon entry, he inquired about her situation. Seeing her nod, he decided to shoot Chloe’s scenes.
The first scene of the movie "Birds and Leaves" opens with a cold tone. The lead female, Sang Ye, meets the lead male years later, and facing this man she once loved, she exhibits more indifference and sadness, coldly bidding farewell as the story begins with a flashback to the 1990s, a scene of two female protagonists reuniting.
Chloe’s distinct features were highlighted, dressed in cold-tone professional attire, standing under a clean and beautiful street lamp. Someone accidentally bumped into her, spilling documents everywhere. The passing lead male bent down to help her pick them up, leading to their reunion years later.
Though a cliché opening, once the characters spoke, it instantly drew emotional involvement.
"Sang Ye?"
Sang Ye looked up, her expression stiffening momentarily, her deep eyes flashing with inexplicable emotions before extinguishing, coolly replying, "You’ve got the wrong person."
The moment Chloe spoke, Constantine Stewart’s tense body finally relaxed. The man leaned against the street lamp at the corner, lighting a cigarette, taking a lonely drag. He sworn that he and Chloe would never reach that point—they would always be together, happy.
