Chapter 1182: Is It a Beautiful Dream? (1)
The test results left Mia Ginger feeling anxious.
So much so that—
In the days that followed, she remained restless, hardly able to relax for even a day.
Seeing her like this, Koa Jackson naturally couldn’t feel at ease either.
The two couldn’t wait for the two-week mark. On October 27th, coincidentally the day Camden River and Tong Tong were discharged, Mia went to visit them and took the opportunity to have another ultrasound.
The results were much better than she imagined.
Apart from being a bit small and underdeveloped, the second baby’s condition had returned to normal.
The umbilical cord, which had been wrapped around the neck twice, had miraculously untangled itself.
Additionally—
Mia was eager to know the genders of the two babies, and Koa, worn down by her insistence, had the doctor privately reveal it. The results were just as Mia had hoped: one boy and one girl, with the well-developed one being the boy and the underdeveloped one being the girl.
With her concerns resolved, Mia was in high spirits.
Walking with Koa to Camden’s hospital room, she clung to his arm and muttered, “Why is Matthew so bothersome, bullying his sister from the womb, hogging all the nutrients? What to do?”
“Eat more in the future.” Koa could only go along with her line of thought for comfort.
When it comes to the growth of twins, it’s similar to the survival of the fittest in nature. The weak tend not to survive. Sometimes, people start with twins, and by mid-pregnancy, it suddenly becomes a single baby because one placenta absorbs the other.
Thinking about it is scary.
Koa, wrapping his arm around Mia as they walked, pondered, and felt a bit uneasy.
“Mia.” He suddenly turned his head and called out.
Mia looked up at him curiously, “What’s wrong?”
Koa said seriously while thinking, “Let’s give Leila a nickname.”
“Isn’t it a bit early for that?” Mia couldn’t help but laugh, “She’s not even four months along yet.”
“There’ll soon be fetal movement,” Koa said softly to her, “Having a nickname will make talking to her more intimate. The baby can sense it.”
“True.” Mia pursed her lips and thoughtfully asked, “What should it be?”
“Little Cat.” Koa replied softly.
He wore a serious expression but came up with such an adorable nickname, making Mia burst into laughter, “Little Cat?” she queried.
“Yes. Since her development isn’t great, each follow-up check is risky, let’s call her Little Cat. Cats have nine lives, it’s a nice sentiment.” Koa’s gentle explanation came with a tender warmth in his eyes.
Mia glanced at him, pouting and muttering, “You like girls, don’t you? They say daughters were their father’s lovers in a past life.”
Koa: “…”
This girl is getting jealous over an unborn baby?
Without hesitation, Koa pinched her cheek.
Mia winced from the pain, instinctively covering her cheek, and lowered her head, “Little Cat, did you see that? Daddy loves you so much, try to grow fast.”
“I can’t handle you.” Koa chuckled at her.
After Mia finished speaking, she realized it was silly to think like that when the baby hadn’t even moved yet. Laughing and clutching Koa’s arm, they reached Camden’s hospital room.
At the end of October, Cloud Capital was gradually getting cold.
Camden wore a smoky gray crew-neck thick knit sweater on top and black pants below. After over half a month without sunlight, his face seemed slightly paler. He was all dressed up now, appearing exceptionally upright and handsome.
