Chapter 1133: Chapter 1160: A Matter of Life and Death (Part 1)
Little Ann grabbed some tissue from the coffee table and headed over.
Camden River stood up to stop her, "It’s fine, let’s end here today. You should head home."
Little Ann unexpectedly glanced at Windsor Myres.
Windsor Myres said nothing, so she still went over to clean the dog pee with the tissues, then wiped it again with a cloth before going to the bathroom to wash her hands. She came out, packed her things, and left.
Before leaving, she smiled and said goodbye, "Goodbye, Miss Myres. Goodbye, Mr. River."
"Goodbye," Windsor Myres waved at her.
Camden River felt a bit helpless.
Windsor Myres knew he didn’t really like dogs, so she temporarily put the Samoyed on the balcony and came back to him, cuddling and teasing, "I’m just so bored, and living alone at home is scary. I couldn’t help it, so I asked someone to get me a dog, alright? Don’t be mad."
"..." Camden River was silent.
In this relationship, he was initially the quieter one. But gradually, because of Windsor Myres, he started talking more, sometimes advising earnestly, even he felt he was being verbose. But now, he only felt emotionally drained.
He felt as if he had aged.
Whenever he’s with Windsor Myres now, he has this feeling.
Underneath his youthful appearance lies an old soul, and all of this is because of this relationship.
Camden River took a deep breath, "I’m a bit tired, I’m going to lie down for a nap."
As he finished speaking, he raised his hand to gently pry Windsor Myres’s hand away, got up, and walked towards the room. After a few steps, he went to the door to change his shoes, then returned to go into the bedroom bathroom, looking weary.
He took a shower inside, while Windsor Myres changed her clothes outside.
It was dusk.
She drew the curtains, making the room very dim, and didn’t care as the Samoyed made noise on the balcony, humming a song as she changed into a lace-trimmed camisole nightdress, letting her hair down completely, and lay on the bed.
After not seeing him for over half a month, she missed Camden River very much.
Camden River always urged her to work, but she was a bit impatient. She’s still young, just twenty-three, at the prime of a woman’s life, how could she not enjoy herself while she can?
Besides, she wasn’t lacking money.
Isn’t the point of working earning money? Then, when she needs money, she can go earn some, there’s plenty of time!
She truly didn’t understand why Camden River pushed himself so hard for work.
The job of a journalist is tough, especially with business trips, going to desolate places, it’s practically self-torture. With Camden River’s achievements, what job couldn’t he do? Why insist on being a journalist to suffer?
She couldn’t stop Camden River, she could only go along with him, which resulted in her having to find a job herself!
However—
Currently, she’s found an excuse in taking the postgraduate entrance exam, naturally avoiding the need to work.
Camden River also commented on how she wasn’t performing well academically.
Since that’s the case, she might as well continue studying, take the exam whenever she passes, and if she doesn’t pass, she can keep trying. Most importantly, she can take advantage of this to have Camden River tutor her, increasing the time they spend together, right?
Windsor Myres mused freely, feeling cheerful.
Her gaze fell towards the bathroom.
The sound of water abruptly stopped.
Camden River emerged from the bathroom wrapped in a towel, his hair almost dry, the smooth, tanned skin covering his body exposed, looking incredibly attractive, especially his two legs under the towel, long and straight, exuding vigor with each movement.
Windsor Myres sat up, looking at him.
Camden River paused, asking her, "Did you have dinner?"
