Chapter 1118: Chapter 1145: Wedding Dresses (3)
Louis Cox and his group had already left the outpatient building.
After walking a few steps, Louis’s phone rang. He answered directly, "Where are you now?"
"I see you," Madison Leaf said as she hung up. She approached him from afar, gazing inquisitively.
Louis gestured to the bodyguard beside him, who promptly handed over all the medical reports. Madison glanced at them and saw that the name section was filled with her name. The ultrasound showed she was 45 days pregnant.
"That’s good." She tucked the documents into the large bag she was carrying, asking as she walked, "Is her place all set?"
Louis replied in a subdued voice, "You don’t need to worry about her place. But what about you, when are you leaving?"
"At the end of the year," Madison replied with a slight smile. "Let me know when she gives birth. I’ll come back promptly. This child will satisfy the old man, so thanks for the hard work."
Louis: "..."
He gave Madison a speechless glance.
After their marriage, the two of them had lived their separate lives quite well.
But—
For the past two years, the Leaf Family had been pressuring them for a child.
With no other options, the two devised a plan: surrogacy.
After all, the child would bear the Cox surname, raised under both his and Madison’s name. Except for confidants, no one else would ever know.
Madison actually had a pleasant disposition. As she left, she gently touched the pregnant woman’s face, offering soothing words, "Don’t worry. Just relax and take good care of yourself so that we can have a healthy child."
Her long, cool fingers startled the woman, causing her to shrink back.
Madison didn’t mind, laughing heartily, amused, and drove away first.
Louis withdrew his gaze.
The pregnant woman exhaled a long breath and quietly asked, "Does the lady really not mind?"
Louis squinted his eyes at her.
The look in his eyes was deep and sharp, causing the woman to pale slightly, stammering, "I just, just..."
"Stop overthinking," Louis said in a low, indifferent voice. "Just focus on having the child. You’ll get every cent you’re promised, understand? You can never replace Madison Leaf."
"Yes." The woman hurriedly bowed her head.
Louis impatiently glanced away.
Odin Myres ignored their interaction and asked Louis in a calm voice, "Uncle, I’d like to visit my parents’ grave."
"I’ll go with you."
As Louis finished speaking, he instructed the bodyguard beside him, "Take her back."
"Yes."
The bodyguard led the woman away.
Ari Murphy drove over, helping Odin into the car, folding up the wheelchair, and leaving.
In no time—
Koa Jackson accompanied Mia Ginger out of the outpatient building as well.
It was around noon.
September’s sunshine was bright and warm.
Mia squinted comfortably, tilting her head, "Should we eat first or visit the bookstore?"
"Let’s eat first," Koa said, holding her as they walked toward the parking area. "After we eat, we’ll look at the wedding dresses. I received a call earlier—they’ve arrived; we can go together."
"Really?" Mia was incredibly surprised, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Her excitement naturally pleased Koa, who chuckled and responded with a soft "Mm" as he gently massaged her shoulder.
Mia couldn’t contain her joy.
Even during the meal, she kept imagining what the wedding dress would look like.
