Chapter 1056: Chapter 1083: Having a Child (1)
Reagon Chapman’s face went through a few changes. For a long moment, she couldn’t squeeze out a single word.
People live on their pride like trees on their bark. She might not be the type to fangirl openly, but being talked to like that by a young, handsome man in front of so many people was already mortifying enough. Plus, with Koa Jackson’s height advantage and strong aura, she simply couldn’t compete.
She kept her face stiff and said nothing, and Koa couldn’t be bothered to deal with her anymore, directly looking away.
Mia Ginger was nestled into the crook of his arm and didn’t try to smooth things over for Reagon. She simply smiled at the others and said, "I really did call a designated driver, so I can’t go with everyone tonight. Sorry about that, I’ll definitely treat you all another time if there’s a chance."
"It’s fine, it’s fine, dates are important," a lively girl quickly piped up.
The others naturally rushed to smile along, all polite and courteous, repeatedly saying it was fine and telling her to enjoy her date.
Mia curved her lips and waved. "Then, see you later."
"Bye."
"Get home safe."
Everyone chimed in, talking over one another as they said goodbye.
Mia tilted her head and glanced at Koa. He gave a slight nod to the other colleagues. "Goodbye."
As soon as the words left his mouth, he wrapped an arm around Mia and turned to leave.
Mia was twenty centimeters shorter than him. Her white shirt was tucked into a slate-blue long skirt, and her back view was slim and fresh, looking particularly soft and delicate, like she needed protecting. As for Koa, there was nothing more to say. These reporters and editors had already heard of him—a man who could tick every box in a young girl’s fantasy of the perfect partner.
The two of them had already walked quite a distance, yet there were still girls looking at his back, slowly waving.
Reluctant to part, sighing one after another.
"He’s so handsome."
"I think he’s even better-looking barefaced than my idol."
"Did you notice those legs? Damn, they’re so long and lean!"
"I only noticed his hands."
"I was too busy staring at his face."
One dreamy murmur after another drifted into her ears. Reagon forced herself to cough twice, then walked toward the door with a cold face.
She was driving, so she could only take four people. After deciding on a place, the five of them headed together toward where she’d parked. Pure coincidence, they ran into Mia and Koa again in the parking lot.
Reagon was always early and often went out during the day, so she basically always parked on the ground level.
Koa hadn’t arrived long ago either, so naturally he’d just picked a convenient spot.
The two cars weren’t parked that far from each other.
So—
She had no choice but to witness their couple routine all over again.
The fact that Mia and Koa had gotten their marriage certificate was very low-key. In other people’s eyes, at most they were an engaged couple, and one that barely saw each other at that. Especially since Koa looked insanely aloof—the type of abstinent, god-tier handsome man that made women afraid to approach.
A man like that actually waited for half an hour without complaint, then the moment they met, naturally took her bag for her. And now, even just getting in the car, he waited for Mia to sit properly, then leaned over to buckle her seat belt before circling back to the driver’s seat?
In broad daylight, this level of PDA was basically animal cruelty to single dogs!
Including Lilian Jackson, the few who hadn’t gotten in the car yet couldn’t help sneaking a few more looks.
Koa dropped a kiss on Mia’s forehead, straightened up and closed the car door. When he lifted his eyes, he saw the few of them standing there, gave them a polite smile, then walked straight around to the driver’s seat and eased the car out of the parking space.
Women’s admiring gazes were something he’d long since gotten used to; he’d already built up immunity.
Being stared at a few more times didn’t bring him any pleasure at all. On the contrary, thinking back to those few sentences he’d overheard in the lobby downstairs earlier, he felt annoyed. Frowning, he asked Mia, "That colleague just now, what’s she usually like with you?"
