Chen Yu slowly approached the girl and asked, "Are you alright? What happened?"

The girl's eyes moistened, and then she teared up. "Waa... wa... wa..."

Then she pointed her finger toward the north. Following her gesture, Chen Yu saw a group of five men wearing gray robes, their faces covered with masks.

Among them, one stood out in particular. While the others carried swords, he carried a bow and arrow.

"Who are you guys?" Chen Yu asked, but an arrow immediately came at his face. It grazed inches away from his ear.

"Leave the girl here, and pretend you didn't see anything," the man with the bow said.

Chen Yu did not move. He looked toward the man carrying the bow. The voice seemed familiar; however, Chen Yu had no time to think about it.”

"Don't say I didn't warn you!" the man carrying the bow said. Then his aura surged, late stage of spiritual qi foundation aura burst out of him.

He took out another arrow and placed it on the bowstring. Ground Qi flowed from his body and wrapped around the arrow.

And it came.

Chen Yu's eyes narrowed, and he took out his sword.

Simultaneously, he moved to the side and tried to dodge the arrow, but it was too late.

The arrow hit him directly in the shoulder.

Blood flowed, and pain shot through him as Chen Yu dropped his sword.

"I said move. I don't want unnecessary bloodshed." The man stepped forward.

Chen Yu's hands trembled.

"Uncle... Uncle... Are you alright? Uncle..." The little girl came up behind him and grabbed his leg. Chen Yu looked at her, then at his sword on the ground. He picked it up.

"Go hide behind the bushes," Chen Yu said to her, pointing at the bushes near the graves of Mofu's parents.

When the girl ran to the bushes, Chen Yu held his sword with both hands.

He pointed it at the man with the bow and said, "Don't you dare come any closer!"

His shoulder still bled, but he kept his sword pointed straight.

"I don't need to," the man said as he looked at the other men he had come with.

The other men moved and rushed at Chen Yu.

Clang!

Chen Yu's sword clashed with the sword of the first attacker, who came straight at him.

Then another sword came from the right. He struggled to move his hand to the right. The swords clashed, but pain shot up in his shoulder.

But Chen Yu did not give up; he pushed the man aside.

Clang!

Just then, another sword came from the front.

Four people attacked him from all sides.

One sword came at his face. Chen Yu bent backward, then held his sword with only one hand and swung upward.

The attacker immediately moved backward, avoiding the lethal strike from below, but his sword collided with Chen Yu's sword and flew away.

Then Chen Yu straightened and lunged at the attacker who had lost his sword, pushing him away.

Immediately, he moved backward and avoided another sword descending from above.

Chen Yu took a deep breath. His shoulder still bled.

"Enough!" the archer shouted.

The men attacking Chen Yu halted in place.

"You are wasting a lot of my time," he said, then aimed another arrow reinforced with ground qi at the girl.

Chen Yu's legs trembled, but he moved. He rushed between the girl and the archer and stood in front of her.

But the archer did not fire the arrow. He spoke, "You are an interesting one. Answer me one thing, and then I will leave her alone."

"If I fire my arrow, you will die. Who is responsible for your death?" the archer asked.

This...

Chen Yu thought for a moment, clenched his fists, and said, "I am. I lack the strength."

"Good," the archer said.

His grip on the arrow loosened slightly.

Chen Yu broke into a sweat. Then the archer lowered his bow.

Chen Yu wondered what was happening.

The archer removed his mask. Chen Yu stared wide-eyed at his face.

Yan asked, "Then why do you think you are responsible for Mofu's death?"

Chen Yu was lost in deep thought.

"Commander, you are being too harsh on yourself."

Chen Yu heard another familiar voice.

Another man took off his mask. Chen Yu glanced at him. He was none other than Gwalior.

"Yes, Commander."

The others took off their masks as well.

Chen Yu stood still. He did not move for a moment.

Then he took a deep breath and said, "I..."

"I have been blind."

Then he knelt and bowed toward Yan.

"Thank you for everything."

When Chen Yu glanced up, he saw Yan bringing his hand to his mouth and yawning.

The girl also rushed towards them and shouted, "Uncle, don't forget your promise to buy me Bran Mutton Soup."

Chen Yu smiled.

"I have to go and pretend to be General Mofu, or else Commander Leo will kick us out," Yan said.

"Yes, yes." Chen Yu nodded.

Then they all started walking back toward Golden Eagle City.

Meanwhile, in Ebonreach...

Behind the walls of the Royal Palace, in the grand courtyard, the King stood.

Beside the King stood the ministers, and in front of them stood General Hecta. Behind her stood about two hundred additional soldiers.

"How long will it take you to reach the battlefield in the east?" the King asked.

"Your Majesty, if I fly, I can reach there in fifteen hours, but my troops might take three days," General Hecta replied.

"Then go there as soon as possible. Your presence there is more important than this small number of reinforcements," the King said.

"Yes, Your Majesty." General Hecta bowed.

Back at the Medical Camp, a group of injured soldiers were in the medical cabin, sitting on the floor around Muskaan.

"Muskaan, why do you think the General wanted to see archery?"

"I even saw Gwalior bringing a bow and arrows to his room."

"What do you think he is doing?"

Just then, they suddenly stood up.

Commander Leo, who seemed to have just come back from the battlefield, walked toward them and asked, "Is the General up? And what were you talking about earlier?"

Muskaan looked at the others and said, "The General is up."

"He also made me demonstrate archery for him."

Leo's brows furrowed.

"Let me check on him," Leo said, then walked toward the door of the private room. When he opened the door and entered, his eyes narrowed when he did not find Gwalior. Then he walked toward the bed and looked through the curtains.

There was no one there.

Then he looked at the window above the bed. It was large enough for a man to jump out.

There were faint scratches on the wall near the window, probably left by the bow and arrows.

He sat on the bed and waited.

After about ten minutes, a sound came from the window above the bed.

Leo glanced up. A pair of legs came out of it.
