The System Awakens: Rise of the Champion
Chapter 311: Initiating Rapid Growths - 2
After vanishing from the Egyptian Pantheon, Damian reappeared in Dragonia.
His figure materialized directly within the throne hall of the Golden Dragon Palace, his sudden arrival causing the atmosphere within the grand hall to shift for an instant.
"Your Highness."
The four ruling dragons immediately greeted him in unison upon seeing the Golden Dragon Emperor return.
Meanwhile, Nivara, Grace, Avenya, Hela, and Tiana had already gone back to exploring the Golden Dragon Palace, leaving Damian to deal with the matters concerning the ruling dragons.
When the invading gods had entered the Egyptian Pantheon, Damian had still been in the middle of his conversation with the four rulers.
He had been forced to abruptly stop the conversation and leave for the Egyptian Pantheon to deal with the intruders.
Now that everything had been settled, he had finally returned.
"So, you guys were watching what just happened, right?"
Damian's lips curled into a small smile as he looked at the four ruling dragons.
"We did, Your Highness."
The four dragons nodded their heads almost immediately.
In fact, they had watched everything.
They had seen the terrifying strength possessed by the invading gods. They had witnessed one of those beings effortlessly defeat one of the strongest God Kings of their universe.
And then they had witnessed what Damian had done to them.
The sight had been deeply etched into their minds.
The three invading gods had arrived with overwhelming arrogance, only to end up in a condition far worse than death after Damian was finished with them.
"Right."
Damian's smile widened slightly.
"That was what I would have done to you if you had tried anything funny earlier when you attempted to obtain the acknowledgment of the Celestial Dragon Spear."
His eyes narrowed slightly as a faint grin appeared on his face.
The reaction was immediate.
All four ruling dragons felt as though a bolt of lightning had struck them point-blank.
Their bodies stiffened.
Cold sweat instantly covered their backs.
"Y-Your Highness... we... we would never go against your will..."
One of the ruling dragons struggled to get the words out.
The thought alone was terrifying.
If they had actually done something that displeased their king or offended him, they could have ended up exactly like those three invading gods.
Their limbs could have been blasted apart while they were still alive.
They could have been forced to experience every bit of pain without possessing even the slightest ability to resist.
It would not have been simple death.
It would have been a fate far worse than absolute death.
A living hell from which there was no escape.
Damian looked at the four ruling dragons.
The expressions on their faces were so terrified that they looked as though they were genuinely about to lose control of themselves.
A chuckle escaped his lips.
"Oh, relax. I was just joking."
Despite his words, the four ruling dragons still looked at him with lingering horror.
"I only have to save the worst punishments for the invaders. For the wrongdoings of people within our universe, I would outright kill them or imprison them right away."
The four ruling dragons remained frozen.
Their minds could not help but interpret his words in the worst possible way.
It was like being given the choice between death by fire and death by drowning.
Either way, the destination remained the same.
Death.
And perhaps something even worse afterward.
A purgatory that could make the deepest hells seem merciful.
"Anyway..."
Damian waved his hand casually.
"Back to our earlier conversation. Disregard everything I just said."
His playful expression disappeared, replaced by a serious one.
"I've had a change of heart since dealing with those invading gods."
The four ruling dragons exchanged uncertain glances.
Then Damian spoke.
"So, I will let you have it."
The four dragons immediately looked toward him.
Damian slowly raised one hand and extended it toward them.
"I will grant you what your race has always wanted."
The moment those words left his mouth, four drops of blood seeped from Damian's palm.
They did not fall.
Instead, they floated above his hand.
Each drop radiated a strange red and golden glow that illuminated the surrounding space.
Then something even more mysterious appeared.
A strange energy emerged within Damian.
Silver and golden light flowed through his body, the two energies intertwining like countless threads woven together.
Yet despite moving together, neither energy mixed with nor opposed the other.
They simply existed alongside each other in perfect harmony.
The mysterious energy traveled through Damian's body before eventually converging within his raised hand.
It then began flowing into the four drops of blood.
The moment the energy entered them, the four drops underwent a transformation.
Their crimson color gradually disappeared.
In its place emerged a magnificent silver and golden radiance.
Four drops of golden and silver blood now floated above Damian's palm.
The four ruling dragons stared at them.
At first, confusion filled their expressions.
Then...
Their eyes widened.
A peculiar presence was emanating from those four drops.
A presence they had never felt before.
Something ancient.
Something incredibly powerful.
Something that resonated with the deepest part of their very existence.
Damian simply willed it.
The four drops of blood instantly shot forward.
Each one flew toward a different ruling dragon before landing directly upon their forehead.
The moment the drops touched their skin, they seeped inside.
And then...
The entire throne hall was illuminated by an intense silvery-golden radiance.
The four ruling dragons' bodies began glowing.
Their figures were completely enveloped in the brilliant light as an indescribable transformation swept through their entire beings.
Then, just as suddenly as it had appeared...
The light vanished.
Silence returned to the throne hall.
The four ruling dragons stood exactly where they had been.
Their appearances had not changed.
They still looked exactly the same as before.
Yet something was different.
Something had fundamentally changed.
Their bodies remained those of dragons, but their presence...
Their presence had become something entirely different.
They still felt like dragons.
But at the same time, they felt like they had transcended the limits of what a dragon was supposed to be.
"This is..."
The Scorch Dragon stared at her own hands in disbelief.
She could feel something coursing through every part of her body.
It was as though thousands of tiny ants were crawling beneath her skin, spreading throughout every inch of her existence.
Yet there was no pain.
Instead, the sensation was incredibly pleasant.
Almost euphoric.
Power surged through her.
Not merely physical power.
Something deeper.
Something that reached her very essence.
It felt as though her entire existence had been elevated to a level she had never even known existed.
The other three ruling dragons experienced the same thing.
None of them could fully comprehend what had happened to them.
Damian watched their reactions with a casual smile.
"Like I said, I granted you exactly what the dragon race has always wished for..."
His voice remained calm.
"I have turned all four of you into Celestial Dragons."
The words struck the four ruling dragons like thunder.
Damian continued.
"The first Celestials of the dragon race since eons."
The four ruling dragons froze.
Their eyes widened further.
For countless ages, the dragon race had desired the existence of Celestial Dragons.
It had been a dream pass
