Chapter 310: Chapter 310: Initiating Rapid Growth - 1

With all three invading gods defeated and rendered completely immobilized and incapacitated, Damian turned his attention back toward the spatial rift, only to see it rapidly closing.

But at that very moment, time seemed to stop for Damian.

His vision suddenly seemed to detach from his body as it traveled forward, zooming out through the spatial rift.

As his vision moved farther away, he suddenly saw a gigantic city-like structure floating in the void outside the Nirvana Universe.

Then, in the very next instant, his vision returned to him as the spatial rift completely closed, and the blue sky of the Egyptian Pantheon returned to normal.

Damian turned his attention toward the dozens of gods and goddesses who were still wounded and unable to recover, still suffering from the aftereffects of the Nether Energy of the Void.

Unlike the gods, Damian could clearly see what was affecting them.

Although the Elder God King Ra had been able to purge the Nether Energy from their bodies, the aftermath of the Nether Energy was still there.

It was very similar to an infection caused by a disease.

Although the disease itself had been cleared, the effects it had left behind in the body were still present and would take time to completely disappear.

Fortunately for the Egyptian gods, Damian was here.

Damian raised his hand and pointed toward the gods lying on the ground before activating his unique ability, the most powerful ability he possessed.

[Predation]

His hand began glowing with thick purple-blue energy, covering it like a pair of gloves.

In the next instant, mist-like black and starry energy began seeping out of the bodies of all the gods and goddesses who had been affected by the Nether Energy.

The energy rapidly flowed toward Damian’s hand, gathering together until a ball of black and starry energy formed above his palm.

Damian freely extracted all the remaining Nether Energy from their bodies, completely freeing them from its lingering effects.

Once he finished extracting all the remnants of the Nether Energy, the gods and goddesses suddenly felt their connection with their Divine Essence and their dominion over the Divine Concepts they possessed return to them.

With their divine powers restored, they quickly proceeded to use them to heal their wounds and recover their strength.

Damian stored the sphere of energy in his hand within his Spiritual World.

His figure then flashed, and he instantly reappeared in front of the Elder God King at the center of the crater.

"Your Highness... I sincerely thank you for saving our Pantheon." ℴ

Despite his injuries and the state his body was in, the Elder God King Ra still forced his body to lower itself, bowing before Damian.

"Everything in the universe falls under my protection. It is my job to deal with any external threats that might harm my universe. I don’t need thanks for simply doing my job," Damian said in a calm and casual tone.

"Furthermore, you had no obligation to concern yourself with our recovery. Yet you still personally intervened and aided the gods of my Pantheon. Such kindness deserves our deepest gratitude, My King."

The God King Ra bowed once again.

"Mm..."

Damian simply gave him a nod of acknowledgment before raising his arm and pointing toward him.

Thick golden energy erupted from Damian’s hand and struck the Elder God King.

In the next instant, all the wounds across his godly body regenerated instantly, and he felt his energy reserves rapidly recover as well.

"I am once again grateful, My King," the God King Ra thanked him once again.

"You did well fighting that God of Light," Damian said.

"I still lost... I can’t believe how powerful that God of Light was. Are all the gods from their universe really that powerful?" the Sun God Ra muttered with a sigh.

"No. On the contrary, they are some of the weakest gods in their universe. They are merely explorers, the kind of forces an invading universe sends ahead to scout a target universe," Damian explained.

Ra’s expression immediately turned solemn.

"Weakest? I was certain they were at least Elder Gods," he said, unable to hide his disbelief.

Gods were ranked according to their overall capabilities as divine beings.

Their hierarchy consisted of Lower Gods, Middle Gods, Upper Gods, High Gods, God Kings, Elder Gods, Emperor Gods, and Ancient Gods.

Excluding Damian and the gods belonging to the Celestial Races of the Nirvana Universe, the highest rank any god within their universe had ever achieved was that of an Elder God.

"They were, at most, Middle Gods. They were nothing more than scouts. That’s also why only three of them appeared. If this had been a genuine invasion, hundreds of them would have arrived, including several God Kings and Elder Gods," Damian said with a sigh.

"I can’t believe the Middle Gods of that universe are capable of fighting an Elder God like me..." Ra muttered, his expression becoming increasingly troubled. "Then what about their God Kings? What about their Elder Gods? Just how powerful are they?"

He lowered his head as a sense of unease settled over him.

"I can’t believe how weak we are compared to them..."

"Our universe is no longer part of the greater cosmos. We were cut off from it a long time ago. Without the cosmos supplying our universe with the energy required for its continued growth, we have remained stagnant for billions of years."

Damian paused for a moment before continuing.

"Because of that stagnation, our universe has grown far weaker. Since it hasn’t been actively developing as it should have, the quality of our universe and everything within it is far inferior to that of other universes."

Damian then looked directly at Ra.

"And I have no intention of leaving it that way."

Ignoring the stunned expression on the Sun God’s face, Damian flashed away and reappeared in front of his wife, Hathor, the Egyptian Goddess of Love.

Without saying anything, he wrapped his arms around her in a warm embrace.

"I’m glad you weren’t caught in that," Damian said softly.

Hathor smiled sweetly as she looked up at him.

"Well, you know, darling, even if I had been caught in it, I know you wouldn’t have allowed it to hurt me. I’m sure you’re always protecting me, even when you aren’t standing beside me."

She leaned closer and placed her lips against his.

The two shared a deep and loving kiss.

"So, what now? They’ll be coming again, won’t they?" Hathor asked after their kiss ended.

"Yes."

Damian gently caressed her fair cheek.

"There is nothing to worry about. As long as I exist, nothing can threaten us. However, I’ve realized that I need to accelerate my plans. Fortunately, I believe I already have most of everything prepared. All that remains is to put those plans into action."

"Hmm... What are you going to do about those invading gods?" Hathor asked.

Her gaze shifted toward the three gods lying nearby.

Their bodies were broken and battered, with pieces of their divine forms scattered around them as they writhed in agony.

Damian had not killed them.

Instead, he had severed their connection to their divine powers, stripping them of their abilities as gods and leaving them completely incapacitated.

"Oh, I have plans for them..."

A cold grin appeared on Damian’s face.

"For now, I’ll let them experience this agony for a few more days. Consider it punishment for stepping into our universe without my permission."

"What do you want us to do with them, Your Highness?" the Sun God Ra asked as he walked toward Damian.

"Just let them cry in agony until I come back for them. I’m planning to use them in the most painful and efficient way possible," Damian replied, not even sparing them a glance.

"You’re leaving?" Hathor asked with a pout. She had been hoping to spend a few days alone with her husband, just the two of them, here in her home pantheon.

"I’ll be back. I was in the middle of something before I came here..."

Before she could say anything else, Damian suddenly leaned forward and captured her lips in a deep kiss. It lasted for several seconds before he finally pulled away.

Hathor’s face was flushed a deep pink, her eyes filled with affection as she looked at her husband.

"We’ll spend some time alone here soon," Damian said softly.

Hathor nodded.

She was a goddess, and she understood how important his work was as the Heavenly Son, the Son of the Universal Tree.

She knew she could not stop him. And even though she also knew that Damian would stay if she asked him to, she would never ask him to abandon something important for her sake.

Damian smiled before leaning forward and giving her one last gentle peck on the lips.

Then, without another word, he vanished from the spot.

Seeing that the Heavenly Son had left the place, the Sun God narrowed his eyes and looked over his pantheon of gods.

"Now that His Grace has left, it is time to deal with the problems within our pantheon. No one is returning to their temple until everything is resolved." The Sun God’s expression turned stern.

"Grandfather, I..."

"I don’t want to hear it. It was my mistake to think you would resolve everything yourselves. Now, I have to correct that mistake..." He turned his gaze toward one of the gods and issued an order.

"Send a summons for Set in my stead."
