The Supreme Village Doctor
Chapter 295: The Deal
Chapter 295 -296: The Deal
Li Yang was no fool. The moment he stepped outside, he breathed a sigh of relief.
He could tell what He Tianba thought of him with a single glance.
Although He Tianba had helped him out for He Zinan’s sake, being treated with such disdain still left a bad taste in his mouth.
But it was unlikely they’d ever meet again, so Li Yang quickly put it out of his mind and got ready to leave.
However, he hadn’t gone far before he saw someone approaching.
Li Yang’s eyes narrowed. The man was one of the people who had been in the room. If he remembered correctly, it was the same young man who had vehemently opposed him providing treatment.
The young man walked up to Li Yang, flashed a chillingly white grin, and said, “Didn’t expect you to actually have some skill. Looks like I misunderstood you before.”
Li Yang gave a faint smile but said nothing.
“Hello!” the man said, extending his hand. “I’m Huang Ji.”
‘Huang Ji?’
Li Yang extended his hand and took the other man’s.
But just then, the man’s grip tightened abruptly. It was like an iron vise, clamping down on Li Yang’s hand as if to shatter his bones.
Against an ordinary person, it might have actually worked.
But he wasn’t facing an ordinary person. He was facing Li Yang!
Li Yang’s body reacted on instinct, immediately pushing back.
In an instant, immense force surged from Li Yang’s hand.
If Huang Ji’s hand was an iron vise, then Li Yang’s was a hydraulic press. There was simply no comparison.
CRACK!
A crack echoed from Huang Ji’s palm.
Huang Ji’s face contorted, instantly flushing beet red.
Li Yang watched him with a placid expression, having already eased his grip. “Is this your way of thanking me? A little over the top, don’t you think?”
“You…” Huang Ji never imagined he’d be so thoroughly humbled. With his hand still caught in Li Yang’s grip, he was in a complete bind. He glared at Li Yang and said, “Stay the hell away from Zi Nan.”
‘Oh,’ Li Yang thought. ‘So this is about He Zinan. That explains it. I was wondering why you’d come looking for trouble when I’ve done nothing to offend you.’
“Who I associate with is none of your business,” Li Yang said coldly. “Don’t let me see you again. You won’t be so lucky next time.”
With that, Li Yang finally released his hand.
Huang Ji yanked his hand back. For a moment there, he thought his hand was crippled for good. Looking at Li Yang now, his expression was tinged with fear.
‘There’s more to this young man than meets the eye!’
Li Yang didn’t spare him another glance. He got into his car and drove back to the village.
Back in the village, things were bustling.
Li Yang, however, headed straight for the mountain.
‘Yesterday, I watered those small wild ginseng plants with the water from my thumb ring. I should go see if they’ve grown.’
He was familiar with the path this time and quickly found the spot.
When he went over for a look, his eyes widened in disbelief.
That’s right. They had all matured. They looked to be at least a hundred years old now!
“My God…” Li Yang stood there, stunned. A thought suddenly struck him. “If I plant wild ginseng here, won’t I make more money than doing anything else?”
Excitement surged through Li Yang at the thought.
‘I don’t want to profit from my medical skills, but I can certainly grow medicinal herbs. In a way, it’s still helping people. This is just a business venture, so there’s nothing wrong with making money from it, right?’
‘The more he thought about it, the more promising the idea seemed.’
After checking on the wild ginseng, Li Yang left them untouched and went back down the mountain to find Zhong Lin.
Zhong Lin was in the fields.
The professor really did love farming; he was always the first to get his hands dirty.
“You want to plant ginseng?” Zhong Lin was stunned when he heard what Li Yang had to say. “Are you sure?”
“Positive!” Li Yang said, rubbing his hands together. “The mountain behind our village is perfect for growing wild ginseng. We plant it there, and when the time comes, we can go dig it up. That stuff is worth a fortune.”
Zhong Lin chuckled. “It is expensive, but wild ginseng is extremely particular about its growing environment.”
“You don’t think the environment here is good enough?” Li Yang shot back.
Zhong Lin paused, then nodded. “The environment here is excellent.”
“Well, there you go!” Li Yang said earnestly. “We don’t need to plant a huge amount. A hundred or so at a time is enough. We can just harvest them as they mature.”
Zhong Lin gave a wry smile, thought for a moment, and said, “We can give it a shot, but I can’t guarantee what the results will be.”
“Sounds good!” Li Yang said happily. “So, when can we go buy the seeds?”
“Alright. I’ll find some time and take you.”
“Great!”
Li Yang returned, smiling.
Back at his small clinic, Li Yang gave Manager Zhang a call.
“Manager Zhang, have you managed to get that iron wire grass I wanted?” Li Yang asked.
Manager Zhang hesitated before replying, “That item requires official clearance. It’s not something I can get my hands on so quickly…”
“I have at least three hundred-year-old ginseng roots right here,” Li Yang said immediately. “If you sell me the iron wire grass, I’ll give you the ginseng. If not… I’ll just go to the manager in the North District. Iron wire grass might be rare, but in terms of value… it’s nothing compared to my ginseng, is it? At that point, I’m sure he’d be more than happy to do business with me.”
