Chapter 253: Chapter 254: Emergency Rescue

Soon, they arrived.

Director Xu came out to greet them personally.

"Director..." The man in the suit hurried forward and quickly explained the situation.

"Let me see!" Director Xu took the two pheasants and glanced at them, a look of surprise on his face. "They really don’t look like they have the chicken plague. They’re so full of life."

"It’s just a final flicker of life!" the man in the suit said. "They didn’t look like this during the last inspection. How could they have recovered so quickly? I suspect they were fed some kind of drug to make the pheasants temporarily seem fine."

"Send them for testing immediately," Director Xu said, not wasting any more words.

The man in the suit left quickly.

"Boss Zeng..." Director Xu said to Zeng Qing, "we have our own difficulties, and I hope you can understand. If this chicken plague were to spread here, think of how many farmers would suffer losses. We can’t afford that kind of disaster."

"Director Xu, I understand your difficulties..." Zeng Qing said earnestly. "If my pheasants really had a problem, I wouldn’t say another word. But the issue is, they’re fine now. They’ve recovered. You still want to cull them, so of course, I’m not going to agree to that, right?"

Director Xu gave a wry smile and looked at Li Yang. "You must be Shen Xu’s friend, Li Yang, right?"

"Hello, Director Xu." Li Yang nodded. "Yes, I’m Li Yang."

"Shen Xu made you sound like you’re capable of anything. Are you really that impressive?" Director Xu looked Li Yang up and down but didn’t see anything remarkable about him. He was just an ordinary young man.

’And his fashion sense... it left a lot to be desired.’

"You’re too kind," Li Yang said, shaking his head with a smile. "Officer Shen was just saying nice things about me. I’m not capable of anything and everything, but when it comes to the business of healing, I really know my stuff."

Director Xu nodded. "Alright then. Let’s see how things turn out. If this really works, then naturally, the pheasants won’t have to be culled."

"Deal!" Li Yang was full of confidence.

The testing didn’t actually take very long. A little over an hour later, the results were out.

"This is strange..." The technician came out, dumbfounded, holding the sample data. "There’s absolutely nothing wrong with these pheasants. On the contrary, they’re incredibly healthy... I don’t know how many times stronger they are than ordinary pheasants."

"How is that possible!" The man in the suit was immediately displeased. "You were the one who tested them last time, too. This is the same batch of pheasants."

"I know!" the technician said seriously. "That’s why I’m saying this is so strange. But the facts are the facts. Look at the data—everything is normal, excellent even. And their nutritional value is even higher than that of a typical pheasant."

Everyone was stunned.

"The tests don’t lie..." Director Xu took the test report, suddenly growing excited.

’This is fantastic! They’re really cured! This means that this man, Li Yang, actually has this kind of ability.’

At this thought, he felt an urge to pump his fist in the air.

"You really cured these pheasants!"

Li Yang felt a bit overwhelmed by their stares. He nodded and said, "I told you I did from the start. You’re the ones who didn’t believe me."

"Haha!" Director Xu laughed heartily and clapped Li Yang on the shoulder. "Don’t blame us. We’ve just never seen such an incredible method before. If you had told us about this beforehand, we wouldn’t have even been able to imagine it. But you actually did it. It’s truly breathtaking!"

The man in the suit held the report, his expression turning awkward.

’He’s right. The guy really did it!’

"Alright, we can put this matter to rest for now..." Director Xu said to the man in the suit. "You don’t need to worry about Boss Zeng’s situation anymore. All of you can go back for now. Oh, and Li Yang, why don’t you come in and chat with me for a bit."

Zeng Qing breathed a sigh of relief and shot Li Yang a grateful look.

Li Yang said to her, "It’s fine. You go on back and look after the pheasants. I’ll go talk with Director Xu."

Zeng Qing nodded, thinking she would have to find another opportunity to thank Li Yang properly in the future.

After they entered Director Xu’s office, the director began to brew some tea.

"I heard from Xiaoxu that you’re a village doctor, is that right?"

"That’s right!" Li Yang was very relaxed. "And because I’m a village doctor, I have to know how to do a bit of everything. Whether it’s people or animals, I can treat them."

"Heh!" Director Xu chuckled. But his impression of Li Yang was genuinely good.

"Incredible!" Director Xu exclaimed. "This chicken plague... we’ve consulted with numerous experts, and they all said there was nothing to be done, that it was completely incurable. For you to actually cure it... this is a first. By the way, I have a meeting to attend in a bit. Why don’t you come with me?"

"Huh?" Li Yang was taken aback. "A meeting?"

"That’s right!" Director Xu said with a laugh. "A meeting. What’s wrong, don’t want to go?"

"It’s not that..." Li Yang hadn’t quite processed it. "What kind of meeting would I even attend?"

"You’ll know when we get there. You’re confident you can cure the chicken plague, right?" Director Xu asked.

"I am!"

"Then that settles it!" Director Xu declared loudly. "It’s decided. We’re going to the meeting!"
