Chapter 251: Chapter 252: This Is How a Deal Is Made

The bald man hadn’t expected the tomato to hit him so hard. He’d never even imagined a tomato could be this delicious.

’What is this flavor?’

He didn’t know, but he knew one thing for sure: he had never eaten anything this delicious in his entire life. This was a first.

It reminded him of his mother’s cooking.

He wasn’t the only one; the others were thinking the same thing. They exchanged a look.

They wanted to smash the plates, yet they couldn’t bring themselves to do it.

’It’d be such a waste to smash such a delicious dish.’

And so, after another glance at each other, they immediately sat back down and started to wolf down the food.

The proprietress stood nearby. Although she could tell just from the smell that the food was delicious, she was still on edge. After all, these men had come here with a specific purpose.

She could only stare, dumbfounded, as they wolfed down the food.

’Is it really that good?’

Watching them, Zeng Qing suddenly felt the urge to laugh.

’Clearly, the flavor has completely won them over.’

’I can’t believe Li Yang’s move worked so well.’

Li Yang, however, sat there perfectly composed, as if he had just done something completely ordinary.

In just a few moments, the dishes were clean.

The bald man stood up. He still wanted to carry out the job he’d been given, but he found he couldn’t bring himself to say words that went against his conscience.

So, he pulled a few hundred-yuan bills from his pocket, placed them on the table, and turned to leave.

The other middle-aged men did the same, leaving with their heads bowed and without a word.

Everyone understood what had happened. The food was simply too good, and the men were too embarrassed to admit it, so this was the only thing they could do.

The proprietress let out a huge sigh of relief, a smile blooming on her face as she walked over to Li Yang’s table.

"Amazing!" the proprietress said, looking at Li Yang and clicking her tongue in admiration. "How can a tomato have a flavor like that? Don’t even try to feed me a line. Those are my own tomatoes; I know them better than anyone."

Li Yang laughed. "Proprietress, you don’t have to ask me that. After all, it’s my trade secret. If I told you, it wouldn’t be a secret anymore, would it?"

The proprietress had a moment of realization and didn’t press the issue, but her eyes were burning with enthusiasm. "This is incredible. Come on, let’s talk about a partnership."

Li Yang smiled. "What kind of partnership did you have in mind?"

’This was actually part of my plan.’

’I’ve already made a small name for myself over in Ruizhou, and the stall I set up in the village is big enough. I can start by expanding my influence. That way, when my crops are ready for harvest, I’ll have a ready-made customer base.’

’It won’t slow down my profits one bit.’

"What do you mean, ’what kind’?" the proprietress said impatiently. "With things as they are, you should obviously be my supplier! I saw it with my own eyes. Those guys didn’t dare say my food was terrible, which means it completely won them over."

Li Yang smiled and nodded. "I can supply you with vegetables, but not right away. It’ll take some time. I can’t meet the demand just yet."

"When will they be available?" the proprietress asked anxiously.

"You’ll have to wait a while. I don’t have a specific timeline..." Li Yang said with a shrug. "It’s hard to say for sure. I can only promise to do my best to hurry."

"Fine, but you have to be quick about it!"

Watching them discuss business so enthusiastically, Zeng Qing felt like a third wheel.

Soon, they finished their meal.

The proprietress didn’t charge them.

"Boss Zeng," Li Yang said, "you shouldn’t have any more trouble for now. In any case, just keep those things safe for me. I’ll call you when it’s time for delivery."

"Alright!" Zeng Qing nodded. "Then I’ll be heading back."

"Okay!"

Zeng Qing said her goodbyes and left.

"Why don’t you stay a little longer?" the proprietress asked Li Yang.

Li Yang glanced at her. "Proprietress, I’ve already eaten. Is there some other entertainment planned? You’re not going to invite me to a hotel for a massage and... the works, are you?"

The proprietress giggled. "Now you’re just being a stranger. Why go to a hotel for the works? If that’s what you want, you can get it right here."

Li Yang couldn’t help but give her a second look.

’She really is beautiful.’

"So? Interested?" the proprietress asked with a smile. "If you are, you could spend the night here."

’Li Yang was exasperated. ’Are all these worldly-wise people this bold?’’

"That’s enough," Li Yang said. "We’ve settled our business, so I’m heading back. It’s not like I can start supplying you right away anyway. We’ll talk more next time."

"Alright!" the proprietress said cheerfully. "But you have to remember us! When your produce is ready, you have to supply us first. We’ll be your first customer in Ningzhou!"

Li Yang nodded. "Understood. Don’t worry, I definitely won’t leave you hanging."

After a few more words, Li Yang prepared to take his leave.

He got in his car and started heading back to the village.

But just at that moment, Zeng Qing called Li Yang.

"This is bad! They’re saying they’re still going to cull all our pheasants! They’re already here! They insist my pheasants are unhealthy and unsafe..."
