The Supreme Village Doctor
Chapter 121 - 122: A Fellow Angler Checks In
Chapter 121: Chapter 122: A Fellow Angler Checks In
"You’ve got some nerve!" The village chief couldn’t stand it any longer. He roared at them, "How dare you harm someone! I’m the village chief here. You will compensate them immediately, or I’m calling the police."
"Tch!" The burly man spat, completely disregarding the village chief’s authority. "You think being some village chief is a big fucking deal? Go on, call the police if you’ve got the balls. I’m telling you right now, you’re going whether you like it or not. Otherwise, I’ll show you just how tough we are."
"You’ve gone too far!" Uncle Gui Fa couldn’t take it anymore. He grabbed a stick and started forward to fight.
But Li Yang quickly blocked his path.
’Uncle Gui Fa was getting on in years; there was no way he could be a match for two burly men.’
"You’ve gone too far," Li Yang said, stepping in front of them. "You ask someone to be your guide, and you end up nearly killing them. Is this how you people operate?"
"Fuck you! What the fuck does this have to do with you? Get the hell out of my way!" The two thugs rushed forward, trying to shove Li Yang aside.
But the moment his hand touched Li Yang’s chest, Li Yang caught his wrist and wrenched it back.
"AAAAH!" The thug let out a bloodcurdling scream. The bones in his hand were broken.
The other man’s face paled. He stumbled back two steps and pointed at Li Yang. "What are you doing? You motherfu—"
THWACK!
Li Yang had snatched the stick from Uncle Gui Fa and brought it down hard on the man’s head.
The blow landed squarely on his head.
The thug felt his head spin and staggered back a few steps. "You..."
THUD!
Li Yang closed the distance again and kicked him in the chest.
The thug collapsed to the ground instantly.
"You just wait..." He tried to scramble up and run, but Li Yang planted his foot on the man’s leg.
With a sickening CRACK, it sounded like the bone had snapped.
"You..." The thug was terrified now. "What are you doing? You broke my leg! Let go..."
Li Yang said coldly, "I’ll let the other stuff slide for now. But first, you’re going to empty your pockets. Then, you’re going to get your boss over here to pay for the medical bills. Otherwise, I’ll teach him a lesson he won’t forget."
The thug frantically pulled out all the money he had on him. "I gave you everything! Let me go!"
"Get lost!" Li Yang sent him flying with a kick.
The two thugs didn’t dare linger a moment longer. They scrambled to their feet, got in their car, and sped away.
The village chief and Uncle Gui Fa stared at Li Yang, dumbfounded and in disbelief.
’That was so awesome. And so satisfying.’
"Here." Li Yang stepped forward and gave all the money he had taken from them to Uncle Gui Fa. "Buy Aunt Gui Fa something nutritious to help her recover."
"But..."
"This is the compensation they owe you," Li Yang said earnestly. "These people are completely lawless to act like this. Uncle Gui Fa, don’t you worry. When their boss shows up, I’ll have a word with him. This pittance isn’t nearly enough. He’ll have to pay tens of thousands before this is over."
"That’s not necessary! As long as my wife is okay, that’s enough," Uncle Gui Fa said, a little uneasy. "Those aren’t good people, you know."
"What’s there to be afraid of?" Li Yang shook his head. "You don’t need to fear them."
"He’s right," the village chief chimed in. "This is money they owed you to begin with. Go ahead and take it."
"Thank you!" Gui Fa and his wife thanked Li Yang profusely.
"Oh, right! You were looking to catch those vine snakes, weren’t you?" Uncle Gui Fa finally remembered why Li Yang had come looking for him. "I’ll take you to get them tomorrow," he said. "I know a place where there are lots of them. If you come with me, you’re guaranteed to catch some."
"Excellent!" Li Yang was delighted. "I’ll come find you tomorrow morning, then. By the way, I have medicine at my clinic. I’ll bring some over for Aunt Gui Fa tomorrow so you won’t need to buy any."
"Oh, I’d feel bad about that!" said Uncle Gui Fa.
"Nonsense. That medicine is for all the villagers, so it’s all the same. Don’t worry about it!"
"Alright, alright!"
Having secured Uncle Gui Fa’s promise, Li Yang returned to the village, satisfied.
「It was already dusk.」
After getting back, he first ate dinner, then went to his clinic to prepare the medicine for Aunt Gui Fa.
After he finished preparing the medicine, a number of villagers dropped by the clinic to chat.
Li Yang opened his phone and saw that the fishing group chat was buzzing with activity.
Liu Jinsheng was a truly dedicated group organizer. He was in the chat answering every question, and the conversation was on fire.
Just then, however, someone @’d Li Yang.
"Boss Li, I want to bring my wife to the village tomorrow to watch me fish. I’d also like for her to try your fish. Could you arrange that for us?"
"Yeah, me too!"
"Me too! Last time, I told my wife how amazing your fish was, and she didn’t believe me—said I was making it up! I want to bring her over tomorrow, and I’d like to stay the night, too. The scenery there is incredible!"
...
Soon, many people were asking the same thing.
Li Yang was stunned, but he also sensed a new business opportunity emerging.
’No, that’s not right. To be precise, this wasn’t a new business opportunity, but an extension of the original one.’
’I just didn’t expect it to happen so fast!’
He chuckled and immediately replied in the chat, "How about this: for those of you who want to bring guests and stay the night, you can register with Brother Liu. I’ll have to see if we have room, since we’re just a small mountain village after all."
"Sounds good!"
