The Supreme Village Doctor
Chapter 120 - 121: Reviving the Person
Chapter 120: Chapter 121: Reviving the Person
"That’s right!" the village chief chimed in. "The young man makes a lot of sense. You should at least hear him out. Who knows, this might actually work."
Uncle Gui Fa had been firm, but now he started to waver.
"Can... can you really do it?" Uncle Gui Fa asked after a moment.
"Of course I can!" Li Yang said earnestly. "Uncle Gui Fa, how about this? Let me take a look at Aunt Gui Fa first."
"Okay!" Gui Fa finally nodded. "Follow me inside."
It grew dark the moment he followed Gui Fa into the house.
When they reached the room, the overwhelming scent of medicine hit him.
"Uncle Gui Fa, who prescribed this medicine?" Li Yang asked.
"No one prescribed it. We just brew whatever we think might help..." Uncle Gui Fa’s voice was heavy. "We can’t afford medical treatment anymore. The hospital is too expensive. A few days there wiped out everything we had."
"What about the people who hired you as guides?" Li Yang asked.
"They skipped town long ago. Where would we even look? Besides, you could tell they were rich just by looking at them. How could we possibly go up against people like that?"
Li Yang sighed and stepped forward to take a look.
A woman with a weathered face lay on the old, worn-out bed, her complexion a bluish-purple.
But her breathing was stable, so her life wasn’t in immediate danger.
"She’s been poisoned!" Li Yang said, breathing a sigh of relief. "And it looks like the poison is quite potent. She’s lucky to be alive."
"Can you save her?" Uncle Gui Fa asked urgently.
"Of course!" Li Yang said with a smile. "Just stand here and watch. I’m going to perform acupuncture on Aunt Gui Fa. She might vomit afterward, and you’ll need to clean it up, but it’s nothing serious, so don’t worry."
"Okay!" Uncle Gui Fa said, his voice filled with urgency.
Li Yang immediately took out his needles.
’Golden Gate Acupuncture Technique. A single needle can snatch a soul right back from Yama.’
The silver needle slipped deftly through her clothing, and Aunt Gui Fa, who had been completely motionless, seemed to twitch.
But it was only a single twitch.
Li Yang quickly worked the needles again.
His hands moved in a blur, too fast for Gui Fa to see clearly.
His needles flew. About ten minutes later, with a loud RETCH, Aunt Gui Fa’s eyes suddenly snapped open. She sat bolt upright and vomited the contents of her stomach.
The sudden, foul stench was overpowering.
"Dear..." Uncle Gui Fa was dumbfounded, crying out in joyous disbelief. "You’re awake? Are you all right?"
"You should clean this up," Li Yang said, putting away his silver needles. "I’ve forced out most of the poison, but some of it is harder to expel. I’ll write you a prescription. Taking the medicine will clear out the rest of the toxins."
"Thank you!" Uncle Gui Fa’s face was filled with gratitude. "Please, have a seat. I’ll take care of this."
Li Yang nodded and walked outside.
The village chief was sitting outside and asked anxiously, "How did it go?"
"She’s awake," Li Yang said with a smile. "She’s out of danger now."
"Really?" The village chief was stunned. "I had no idea you were actually that skilled! Wow!"
Li Yang just smiled.
A few minutes later, Gui Fa emerged from the room, his face wreathed in smiles.
Aunt Gui Fa followed him out.
Aunt Gui Fa had changed into a clean set of clothes and looked much more vigorous.
"She’s really awake!" The village chief roared with laughter, clapping Li Yang on the shoulder. "You truly are a Divine Doctor! Even the doctors in the city said there was nothing they could do."
"That’s right, that’s right!" Gui Fa chimed in. "Just a few needles and that was it. I never would have imagined... Truly incredible."
Li Yang laughed. "You guys are flattering me too much. The important thing is that Aunt Gui Fa is okay."
"Thank you, Xiaoli," Aunt Gui Fa said. "If it weren’t for you, I would have been a goner for sure this time."
"Don’t go! You have to stay for dinner!" Aunt Gui Fa said earnestly.
But just then, the roar of a car engine suddenly broke the silence outside.
The sound of footsteps followed, and two burly men strode in from outside.
"Gui Fa, my boss wants to know if you’re finally willing to go find that big snake on the mountain!" one of the thugs demanded.
"Gui Fa!" Aunt Gui Fa suddenly pointed at them. "That day, when I was guiding them up the mountain, the big snake attacked us. They’re the ones who pushed me in front of it! If they hadn’t, I wouldn’t have been bitten, and I certainly wouldn’t have been poisoned! They’re the ones who did this to me!"
What!
Everyone present was stunned.
Aunt Gui Fa had been unconscious ever since she was brought back, so no one really knew what had happened. The story from the others who escaped was that a giant snake had attacked them. They claimed that because Aunt Gui Fa was older and a woman, she couldn’t keep up and got left behind.
Who would have thought they were the ones who had harmed her!
"So it was you!" Uncle Gui Fa’s eyes blazed with fury. "You dared to harm my wife! I’ll fucking kill you!"
The two thugs’ expressions changed. They exchanged a look. ’We heard this woman was in a coma. How is she awake now?’
"Getting a little bold, aren’t you, Huang!" one of the thugs sneered, seeing Uncle Gui Fa ready to confront them. "You take one more fucking step and see what happens. I’ll fucking kill you, you believe that?"
