Chapter 74: 74 The Great Alchemist’s Inheritance

The Great Alchemist’s Inheritance

"If it is their process, then let them go through it."

The energy continued to rise.

"Eighth."

The first warrior took a deep breath.

"Ninth."

Then came the final leap. The spiritual energy exploded for an instant.

"Tenth."

Silence.

The first warrior opened her eyes, and the pressure emanating from her body was completely different.

Profound Nascent, tenth stage. At the same time, the other two began undergoing the same changes.

One.

Then another.

Each one successively broke through her own barriers as the spiritual energy continued to rise.

Until all three reached the same realm—Profound Nascent, tenth stage.

No one dared to say anything, and for several seconds, everyone simply stared at them.

The three warriors who had previously been on the verge of death were now standing, and each possessed the same cultivation level as the four elders and the Queen herself.

Lian Yue was the first to understand the consequence.

"There are nine of us now."

Guo Han looked at her.

Lian Yue continued:

"Queen Ariselle, the four elders, me..."

She looked at the three new cultivators.

"...and them."

Nine cultivators at the tenth stage of Profound Nascent. Zhao Ming remained silent.

Even he had to admit that the situation had changed, but Guo Han did not allow the impact of the moment to make them forget reality.

He pointed toward the map on the table.

"This improves our situation."

Everyone looked at him.

"But it doesn’t solve the war."

His voice remained firm.

"The enemy still has more than thirty thousand combatants."

He paused.

"In addition to the beasts."

Then he looked at the three new cultivators.

"And there are still approximately fifteen cultivators at the tenth stage of Profound Nascent among them."

Silence returned.

Nine against fifteen.

Seven thousand against more than thirty thousand.

The difference remained enormous, but now there was something that had not existed before—a new possibility.

Thesira observed the three new cultivators.

"This changes our defense."

"Yes," Nysara replied.

"And not by a little."

Vaelra continued looking at Yun Che. Her expression no longer carried the same contempt as before.

There was neither trust nor complete acceptance, but the absolute hostility had disappeared.

Mirevra noticed.

"Don’t look at him as if you need to understand everything right now."

Vaelra turned her eyes away.

"Then how should I look at him?"

Mirevra replied:

"As someone who has just changed the balance of this room."

Ariselle remained silent, her eyes first on the three warriors and then on her daughter.

Finally, they settled on Yun Che.

"You already knew this would happen, didn’t you, daughter?"

Seraphina remained still, but Ariselle continued anyway:

"Before we brought these warriors here."

The princess slowly nodded.

"Yes."

"You knew he could do this?"

Seraphina hesitated before answering.

"I knew he had a way to help them."

The Queen narrowed her eyes.

"That’s not the same thing."

"I know."

Seraphina lowered her gaze slightly.

"That’s why I didn’t tell you beforehand."

Ariselle remained silent. She now understood that her daughter had taken a gamble.

The alchemists of the Profound Flower Sect remained before the furnace. Chen Ruyue still seemed unable to take her eyes away from the marks left behind by the refinement.

Su Meilin mentally analyzed every step she had witnessed.

Guo Han remained thoughtful, comparing the result with everything he knew about alchemy.

Zhao Ming looked at Yun Che with an expression that was difficult to interpret.

Lian Yue remained silent.

But for the first time, her attention toward the masked man was not merely curiosity. There was caution now.

Yun Che turned toward the furnace. No one immediately noticed that his hand was trembling slightly.

The pain within his core had intensified. The price of that refinement was still being paid.

A window appeared before his eyes.

[Core Status: Critical.]

Yun Che remained motionless. Another message appeared.

[Time remaining: less than one day.]

His eyes narrowed behind the mask. Around him, people were discussing.

The three new cultivators were being examined, and the elders were assessing the possibilities.

The cultivators of the Profound Flower Sect were trying to understand what they had just witnessed.

Seraphina silently watched Yun Che.

Ariselle was trying to understand how much her daughter knew.

And no one in that hall realized that the man who had just offered the Medusa people a new possibility was, at that very moment, drawing closer and closer to his own death.

Yun Che slowly clenched his hand.

Less than one day.

He had no time to celebrate, no time to explain, much less to rest.

The six pills had altered the balance of the meeting, but they had not solved the problem.

Neither the war nor his own.

If he wanted to survive, he needed to find a solution before his core collapsed.

Part 2

Silence.

For several seconds, no one was able to say a single word.

The three warriors remained motionless, still trying to comprehend the strength coursing through their bodies. Moments ago, they had been seriously injured. Now, each one had reached the tenth stage of Profound Nascent.

Seraphina silently watched the three of them. Ariselle also remained motionless, examining the change before her.

However, something else happened.

The ground suddenly shook violently. It began with a vibration, and then a force swept through the entire mountain range.

BOOM!

The mountains trembled. The cavern walls shook so violently that small rocks began falling from the ceiling. The torches attached to the walls swayed violently, casting distorted shadows across the hall.

Several Medusas lost their balance.

"Protect the Queen!"

"Form a defense!"

The cultivators of the Profound Flower Sect reacted immediately. Lian Yue stepped forward, while Guo Han and Zhao Ming watched the entrances to the hall.

Vaelra stood up.

"Are we under attack?"

Thesira closed her eyes for an instant.

"I don’t sense any enemy."

Another tremor passed through the mountain range, this time even stronger, and then...

Everything stopped.

Yun Che remained exactly where he was.

The white mask concealed his face, but his eyes remained calm. He looked at the ground, then the walls, and finally turned his eyes toward the mountains.

Ariselle noticed the subtle behavior.

"Necromancer."

Yun Che looked at her.

"Yes?"

"Did you see something?"

"No. I only thought I saw something, but it’s nothing."

Yun Che continued staring at the walls.

"If it were an attack, we would probably already know."

The Queen did not respond.

A short while later, the doors suddenly flew open, and a Medusa warrior rushed inside. She was out of breath, and fear was evident on her face.

"Queen!"

Ariselle stood up.

"What happened?"

The warrior tried to catch her breath.

"Something appeared in the mountains."

Mirevra frowned.

"What?"

"Many formations."

The word caused the elders to exchange glances.

"There are several of them. Some cover large parts of the mountain range."

Vaelra stepped forward.

"Are they defensive or offensive formations?"

"We don’t know yet."

The warrior took a deep breath.

"But there is something else besides the ants that suddenly appeared."

"What?"

"A barrier."

The hall became completely still.

"The barrier covers the entire Medusa territory. We can barely see it, but the spiritual light reveals its surface."

Mirevra slowly turned her face toward the other elders.

"That wasn’t there before."

"No," Nysara replied.

She remained silent for several seconds.

Then her eyes changed.

"The mausoleum..."

Thesira looked at her.

"What about the mausoleum?"

Nysara slowly took a breath.

"The inheritance."
