Chapter 399: Chapter 396: Fatty’s Research Results

Xiyue Frost explained with a faint smile, "The Li Family is a renowned family of archers. This is their special inherited Secret Technique, Li Ying. It allows them to condense their Divine Sense into an eagle for long-distance reconnaissance and communication."

"Jeez, such an amazing Secret Technique exists?" Feng Hao stared at the Li Ying on Li Haoyang’s shoulder, marveling aloud.

It wasn’t just him. Aside from the two Xiyue Family sisters from Rongcheng, everyone else was stunned by the miraculous Li Ying.

"What’s so strange about it? Li Mufeng can do it too, can’t he?" Xi Yueyao pouted dismissively.

"For real? How did I not know that?" Feng Hao asked, stunned.

"You’re always running off to other places, so of course you wouldn’t know," Xi Yueyao complained with a pout.

Feng Hao gave a helpless laugh and squeezed Yao Girl’s little hand. On second thought, she was right. He hadn’t been with Zhang Meng and his two other little brothers for long before coming to Five States City, and then he’d taken a trip to Mu Country.

Come to think of it, he didn’t really know much about his three little brothers’ current situation. Xi Yueyao actually knew more than he did.

"There’s no time to waste. We need to hurry and provide support," Yun Jiansong said gravely.

Feng Hao nodded in understanding, then turned to City Lord Zhong Yuntao and Barbarian Three Punches. "Seniors, please head over to support the Elder Hall by tying up their forces. Buy us time for the rescue."

"No problem." Zhong Yuntao gave a slight nod, and after a few brief instructions, he grabbed Barbarian Three Punches and flew out of the city.

Meanwhile, Feng Hao and the others once again boarded two Magic Energy Flying Vehicles and, under the guidance of the Li Ying, set off to rescue Sun Yaowen.

...

West of Five States City, at an encampment composed entirely of Celestial Eagle Team Mages, Zhang Meng and his two little brothers were launching an all-out assault alongside Xie Kuangfeng’s team.

Although the experts in the camp were currently tied up by the Thief God Hall masters outside the array formation and various other experts from the city, the defending forces within the camp itself were not to be underestimated.

Furthermore, this was the Celestial Eagle Team’s main stronghold, and with Sun Yaowen held captive here, the number and strength of the guards were considerable.

The members of the academy’s elite squad were mostly between the fourth and fifth ranks, meaning there was still a noticeable gap in power compared to the Celestial Eagle Team Mages.

"Lao Li, did your message get through? With just our two teams, there’s no way we can break in!" Zhang Meng shouted to Li Mufeng, unleashing a barrage of Secret Techniques as he spoke.

Li Mufeng focused his perception for a moment before nodding. "It got through. The Boss and the others are heading this way."

"That’s a relief." Zhang Meng let out a breath and smirked. "Good thing you got your cousin onto the Boss’s team. This would’ve been a real mess otherwise."

"What can I say? I call that foresight!" Li Mufeng said, looking smug.

"Look at you, getting all cocky." Zhang Meng shot him an annoyed glance before turning his eyes back to the battlefield. ’Heh heh, I, Master Fatty, have been trying to combine the five legacies... I wonder how it’ll turn out?’

Li Mufeng was stunned. "Whoa, combining the Five States legacies? Is that even possible?"

"Who cares? There’s only one way to find out!" Zhang Meng grinned, mustering all his Magic Power and pouring it into the bizarre Secret Technique Mark in his sea of consciousness. "Damn it, what’s with this Secret Technique? It’s draining all of my Magic Power! Lao Li, cover me."

"Alright, but be careful. Don’t end up hitting our own men," Li Mufeng teased with a nod.

"As if. I, Master Fatty, am a professional," Zhang Meng snorted. Under Li Mufeng’s covering fire, he funneled all his remaining Magic Power into the Secret Technique Mark.

Soon, the Secret Technique Mark, which had fused the five legacies, began to glow with an ominous black light, ready to be unleashed at any moment.

But just as Zhang Meng was about to unleash it, he saw Tu Xiaoshan rampaging through the enemy army, protected by his Gang Qi shield.

"Shit, Old Tu, get the hell out of the way! I can’t hold this thing back much longer!" Zhang Meng roared in frustration.

"Fuck! Didn’t we agree you wouldn’t use any Secret Techniques without a Dharma Soul?" Tu Xiaoshan was in the middle of an exhilarating charge. Hearing Zhang Meng’s shout, he cursed under his breath and scrambled to break out of the enemy throng.

Fortunately, having integrated the Demon Pattern for ’Swiftness,’ his charging speed had increased considerably. Otherwise, he never would have made it out in time.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

As Tu Xiaoshan charged out of the crowd like a wild bull, a massive black shadow descended upon the Celestial Eagle Team’s forces. Then, under everyone’s shocked and bewildered gaze, the shadow exploded, transforming into five imposing, black-clad figures.

The five figures took up positions at five points, forming an eerie black Pentagram Array that trapped dozens of Celestial Eagle Team Mages inside.

The next moment, the five figures moved in unison, unleashing countless flashes of sword light within the black Pentagram Array. What was astonishing, however, was the complete silence. There was no sound from the sword flashes, not even the screams of the trapped Celestial Eagle Team Mages.

From start to finish, apart from the initial explosion, the Secret Technique was utterly silent, annihilating dozens of Celestial Eagle Team Mages without a single sound.

Outside the Pentagram Array, one could only see the twisted, agonized expressions of the Celestial Eagle Team Mages, but not a single sound could be heard.

"Holy shit, it actually worked!" Zhang Meng collapsed to the ground, completely drained. He stared at the black Pentagram Array ahead and swallowed hard.

Elsewhere, Xie Kuangfeng, who was leading his team in a flank attack, suddenly witnessed this scene and was left completely dumbfounded.

"Am I seeing things? Dozens of fifth and sixth-rank enemies... just gone?" In his shock, Xie Kuangfeng flipped up the visor of his helmet and shouted with excitement, "Incredible, Brother Zhang Meng! A few more of those, and we’ll be able to break through!"

"I’d love to! But the damn thing uses up all my Magic Power in one go!" Zhang Meng replied, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"No problem! We’ll cover you! Just focus on chugging pills to recover your Magic Power!" Xie Kuangfeng flashed a knowing smile. His Fifth Gear Light Blade swept out, unleashing a wave of Sword Qi that drove back the approaching Celestial Eagle Team Mages as he led his squad toward Zhang Meng.

Li Mufeng had the same idea. "Fatty, now’s not the time to be stingy! Use all those High-tier Qi Recovery Pills you’ve been hoarding!"

"But..." Zhang Meng winced, the thought clearly painful.

"No buts! Once this is over, you think the Boss won’t make it up to you?" Li Mufeng said, exasperated.

"You’re right." It dawned on Zhang Meng. Without further hesitation, he pulled out all the high-tier pills he had saved up over the years and began stuffing them into his mouth as if his life depended on it.

The effects of chugging so many High-tier Qi Recovery Pills were immediately obvious. Though the sudden surge of medicinal power was uncomfortable, his Magic Power began to recover at a ridiculous rate, shooting up like a rocket.

Meanwhile, the Celestial Eagle Team Mages had also realized the threat Zhang Meng posed and began to organize their forces to converge on his position.

"Quick! Concentrate your fire and kill that fatty!" one of the leading Sixth-rank Mages roared. "Just hold out until our superiors get back, and we’ll be fine! But if they manage to rescue Sun Yaowen, we’re all dead!"

Hearing this, the Celestial Eagle Team Mages went into a frenzy, charging forward with a reckless disregard for their own lives.
