The Rule-Breaker of the Doomsday Game
Chapter 441: The Immortal Piercing Demon Makes for Excellent Fuel
'The capital of the Transylvania Kingdom? Can that be right?'
Qi Suian looked at the map. The distance from Villerlis Town to the kingdom's capital wasn't short.
It seemed unrealistic for the Piercing Demon to have flown that far with the Daywalker.
[Yes. Based on estimates from meteorological images, geographical location, and other data, the Queen's Bell Tower is struck by lightning up to... times per year.]
The AI gave Qi Suian a rough report. It stated that when it came to places struck by lightning each year, the Queen's Bell Tower had an extremely high frequency. It could even be called one of the sights of the Transylvania Kingdom.
Qi Suian hadn't been in the Blood Race World for long and hadn't paid attention to such things, so how could he have known?
The AI, on the other hand, habitually collected all sorts of information, so it had records of it.
"Perhaps the most dangerous place is the safest," Qi Suian mused with a self-deprecating laugh.
If the Piercing Demon had decided to hide in plain sight, he might really be holed up in the Queen's Bell Tower with the Daywalker.
'Then again, with the Queen's Bell Tower getting struck by lightning so many times a year, haven't the commoners of the Transylvania Kingdom ever considered that their queen might not be human...'
In a more traditional feudal world, the monarch's authority would have been questioned long ago.
Even if there was a scientific basis for the lightning strikes.
[They have, but the voices are not loud. After all, the Blood Bath Queen's control is very stable. Thanks to her management of public opinion, it hasn't become a mainstream issue. Instead, it's more like idle gossip.]
Gossip is everywhere. It's better to guide it than to suppress it, so the Blood Bath Queen didn't try to silence people, but rather steered the public discourse.
"Alright then. Fire a missile at the Queen's Bell Tower. We'll bomb it first and sort things out later."
Qi Suian was still some distance from the capital of the Transylvania Empire. He'd have to fly for a while longer before his reconnaissance network would be in range for a scan.
Since that was the case, he might as well use a missile to test the waters. Whether it succeeded or not, Qi Suian wouldn't lose anything.
As for any benefits, well, those weren't guaranteed.
[Mobilizing the Eternal Morning Star for target acquisition...]
The AI immediately carried out Qi Suian's command.
Qi Suian watched the running code, data, and so on, finding it quite interesting.
Theoretically, he could do it manually himself, but he wasn't as proficient as the AI.
He could do it manually if he had to, it would just take a bit longer.
These were issues of his own making.
He had always prioritized his own growth, which meant he had his own specializations in areas of study and research.
This left him with shortcomings in many other areas.
Qi Suian had been trying to shore up these weaknesses, but time was short, and his progress was limited.
Ever since the Profound World, he had always relied on shortcuts for rapid power-ups. The fast pace of the apocalypse had forced him to grow this way.
Things had only gotten slightly better in the Blood Race World, where a serious injury from the apocalyptic game had forced him to slow his frantic pace.
[Target lock complete. Firing...]
A missile shot out, trailing a fiery plume as it headed straight for the horizon.
Qi Suian, meanwhile, rode his mount, leisurely following the missile from a safe distance.
The missile would explode upon impact. Why would he follow so closely? If he did, he'd get caught in the blast.
One after the other, they headed for the bell tower in the Transylvania Kingdom.
'I really found them.' Qi Suian thought, looking at the data from his reconnaissance network. The Piercing Demon and the Daywalker were indeed in the Queen's Bell Tower.
"These two are playing a twisted game. The Daywalker is tied up and being electrocuted." Just as Qi Suian arrived, he happened to see a bolt of lightning strike the top of the bell tower.
The lightning traveled down the rod, giving the Daywalker a nasty shock.
From the looks of it, this probably wasn't the first time the Daywalker had been zapped.
Before Qi Suian could gather any more data, the missile struck the Queen's Bell Tower.
The Queen's Bell Tower, which had stood for ages, shattered in a thunderous explosion.
The Piercing Demon and the Daywalker were caught in the blast, but as members of the Blood Race, they both possessed immortality and didn't die.
"You again!" The Piercing Demon recovered in an instant. He snatched the more slowly regenerating Daywalker, his expression filled with rage.
'I fled all the way to the Transylvania Kingdom, and you still managed to track me down. This is just my rotten luck.'
However, Qi Suian didn't answer him at all. He went with his usual routine: a direct charge and ram.
This simple, unadorned attack was quickly replacing his signature groin kicks and eye pokes.
He instantly smashed the better part of the Piercing Demon's body into a bloody mist, leaving only the hand grabbing the Daywalker mostly intact.
After snatching the Daywalker away, Qi Suian casually crushed that hand into a pulp as well.
"Are you okay?" Qi Suian looked at the unconscious Daywalker and gave him a couple of hard slaps. "Damn, he really got zapped good. Not even these slaps can wake him up."
Seeing that he was still alive, Qi Suian breathed a sigh of relief.
'It doesn't matter if he's unconscious. I'm going to chop him into a dozen pieces later anyway. As long as he's alive, it's fine.'
"Give me back the Daywalker!!!" A bloody shadow streaked past, trying to snatch the Daywalker back from Qi Suian's grasp.
The attacker was the recovered Piercing Demon. His speed was impressive, likely due to some kind of ability.
Unfortunately, compared to Qi Suian, it was far too slow.
He threw a punch, and the bloody shadow exploded directly into a mist of blood.
Had it been any other species, they would have been dead beyond dead.
But the immortality of the Blood Race was on a conceptual level; even this wasn't enough to kill him.
Seeing this, Qi Suian knew that unless the Piercing Demon courted death himself, just like the Blood Bath Queen had, the chances of killing him were practically zero.
He finally understood why sealing away a Demon King was such a common trope.
When you can't kill them and they stick to you like a stubborn leech, sealing them away is the perfect solution.
But Qi Suian didn't plan on sealing the Piercing Demon directly. He intended to hold back a little, then beat the Piercing Demon into several pieces and stuff him into the Melting Furnace.
The blood mist retreated, quickly reforming into a human shape in the process.
"Looks like you're different from the Blood Bath Queen. You can't turn into a dragon," Qi Suian said with regret.
The Piercing Demon, however, completely ignored Qi Suian's words. After being hammered twice in a row, he knew he was no match for him.
So, he decided to run.
'If I can't beat him, I'll just outlive him.' It was the only way he could think of to win now.
But if he wanted to leave now, he'd have to get Qi Suian's permission first.
He hadn't even taken two steps before Qi Suian slammed him to the ground.
Just as he was about to turn into mist to escape, he was stunned to see fifteen Blood Race Blood Seals appear on Qi Suian's body, while twelve Blood Race Sacred Artifacts were activated simultaneously.
In that instant, his entire body was frozen in place, unable to move.
Then, he saw Qi Suian raise the Slaughter Knife and the Execution Axe and, with a grunt, chop him into three sections: upper, middle, and lower.
As the Piercing Demon watched, his lower and middle sections were stuffed by Qi Suian into some unknown space, and he immediately lost all connection to them.
"Wait, what did you do? Why..." Terror crept into the Piercing Demon's expression.
'He's going to seal me,' he suspected.
"Nothing, just doing a little... oh, you've regenerated already." Qi Suian was about to give the Piercing Demon a perfunctory answer when he saw that the rest of his body had already grown back from below the neck.
Due to his power, his regeneration speed was extremely fast.
This situation immediately invigorated Qi Suian's Spirit. His expression, however, made the Piercing Demon's hair stand on end.
He recognized that look. He'd worn it himself when he'd taken a great interest in certain prey.
The fate of that prey had, naturally, been extremely miserable.
"I think we're going to be spending some time together," Qi Suian said with a brilliant smile, simultaneously raising the Slaughter Knife and Execution Axe to chop the Piercing Demon again.
He very smoothly turned the Piercing Demon back into three pieces.
Once again, he stuffed the two sections below the neck into the Melting Furnace as fuel.
"Sigh, it's a shame the Blood Bath Queen is dead. Otherwise, it would have been great to let you two siblings catch up," Qi Suian lamented.
'If I'd managed to collect both him and the Blood Bath Queen, it would've been double the fun.'
But Qi Suian also understood that if it weren't for the three module slots the Blood Bath Queen had provided, which allowed him to smoothly install the Legendary Equipment Stone set, he wouldn't have had a way to get this strong.
You just can't have your cake and eat it too, he supposed.
The Piercing Demon was filled with despair at Qi Suian's musings.
He wanted to run, but the twelve Blood Race Sacred Artifacts were completely suppressing his dark power, leaving him with no strength to fight back.
He could only watch passively as Qi Suian did as he pleased with him.
At this moment, his eternal life and unparalleled immortality had become a terrifying form of torture.
"Wait, I know where the Evil Key is!" the Piercing Demon blurted out, enduring the pain.
"Not bad, not bad. You've even learned to answer before I ask," Qi Suian said, quite satisfied with the Piercing Demon's response.
'My intentions are obvious enough. Everyone knows I'm looking for the Blood Race Sacred Artifacts.'
"What's your condition?" Qi Suian asked leisurely, casually chopping the Piercing Demon into three pieces again.
"Can you stop chopping for a second?" The Piercing Demon's eye twitched. 'Asking for my condition while still chopping me up... isn't this too ridiculous?'
"What does it matter? You can talk in your spare time. After all, I haven't touched your head," Qi Suian said calmly.
As for how the Piercing Demon could still speak without lungs, well, his existence defied science to begin with. There was no need to think about such problems.
"It's in the Villeries family castle."
"Abel's corpse is there. If you find him, you'll be able to get the Evil Key."
The Piercing Demon spoke without hesitation, not trying to pull any tricks.
"No, I already looked." Qi Suian had searched the Villeries family castle long ago. If there were any clues, how could he not have known?
"It is in the Villeries family castle! My father, Cain, told me!" the Piercing Demon insisted, enduring the pain of Qi Suian chopping him into three pieces yet again.
Hearing this, Qi Suian thought he should go back and take another look.
'But first, I need to kill the Daywalker. I probably couldn't find it last time because my protagonist plot armor wasn't strong enough.'
