The rise of the pervert primordial

Chapter 778 - 778: The fourth day of the development trial (part 11)

The previous might look like cowardness, but the anaconda actually did have a way to continue the exchange with the little wyrm while on land, she had also dominated the capacity to use her tail to grab things so she could throw rocks towards the enemy herself, though it would require more effort since her attacks will have to move upwards, also she was sure it would be harder to land a hit on Espi due to her smaller size and high movement speed in land, but luckily she didn’t have the need to do so.

‘Now what will you do, unlike me, your life has a “time limit”, so you can’t take your time to analyze from afar’, though the anaconda.

Though not exactly not a glorious way to fight the duel, she could simply maintain distance from the little wyrm and once two hours passed, she’ll be declared the winner automatically, so she could remain in a defensive stance for a long as she wanted, it was the enemy the one that had to approach her.

Seeing the anaconda so obviously boasting of her “superior intellect”, Espi for a moment couldn’t help but think.

‘Should I collapse the whole ceiling above the river and crush her to death?’, however that dangerous and though absurd sounding plan for a mortal ranked beast, which was actually within the possibilities of the little wyrm, so long as she destroyed key spots with her tail and overexerted her strength a bit, was rejected by Espi as she shook her head to herself.

‘No, Aster said he didn’t want me to get hurt and that anaconda is not strong enough for me to have to ignore my current safety limiters anyway’, thought the little wyrm, as she changed Aster’s original phrase which was that he didn’t want “anyone” in the team to get hurt to that he didn’t want “her” to get hurt.

Not like it was a lie, the little wyrm is the only one who can exert a massively different power if she were to let go of all brakes as of currents, besides Aster himself if he used the special movement he obtained from his slashing mission, so Aster indeed didn’t want Espi to use strength past what her body could handle unless it was absolutely needed, the little wyrm changing Aster’s words to be more of her linking in her mind was cute though.

There was another reason besides that, one that was related to the instructions she had received from Aster, but he had said that her well-being had priority over anything else, if needed, they could always block the entrance to the cave which was also the only way to get out for the vast majority of snakes and slaughter anyone who resisted but of course Aster first wanted to let the little wyrm do things the way her instincts told her to.

Under the surprised eyes of the anaconda who expected Espi to be stuck thinking what to do for at least ten minutes, the little wyrm moved at high speed through the ceiling to then jump towards the river.

Despite the high speed and the height out of which Espi jumped, she made a clean dive, splashing very little water it was as if the little wyrm was a professional diver, but that’s not what took the public by surprise, but the fact that she actually joined the anaconda, who had titled herself as the king of water beasts, in her own territory.

‘What a fool, she should have continued to launch those rocks from distance, but again there is a time limit and the king would have easily dodged, from the very beginning since water was involved there was zero chances that we would lose’, thought the reticulated boa leader.

Surprisingly enough, the anaconda didn’t outright charge towards the little wyrm the very moment she entered the water, at least until Espi looked at her with mockery in her pretty green eyes.

“Hisss”, with a disdaining voice the little wyrm said something along the lines of “So, even now that I’m in your territory you still want to stall for time?”, said Espi, which made quite a few snakes from the public whisper between each other.

The idea that the king of water beasts was avoiding the little wyrm didn’t pass through the minds of the public in general, it hasn’t been long since the fight started and it was a fight between a “small” young challenger and the largest and heaviest snake in the whole forest, so, until now they only thought that the anaconda was giving Espi a fair chance to fight.

“Now that I think about it, the king is the only one that has suffered a wound”.

“That white snake doesn’t look adapted to water”.

“Yeah, and the fight on land was also quite short as well”.

Those were some of the comments that could be heard among the public, the little wyrm had made them start doubting the anaconda who had made everything to build an image of absolute authority over the races, something she couldn’t allow to continue if she still wanted to rule over them like she has been doing so far.

“Hisss!”, not blindly mad at the provocation, but enraged at the fact that she was being forced to act which is something she enjoys doing to others and not the other way around, the anaconda loudly hissed as she started twisting her body.

The water parted as the massive anaconda advanced towards the little wyrm, despite the size of the king of water beasts, she actually was pretty fast in water, to the point that even Espi was surprised by it.

“Boooom!”, at high speed, the anaconda reached the little wyrm who dived into the water in order to avoid the incoming attack, as a result the anaconda tackled a rock that was in her way destroying it on the spot to then change to dive into the water in order to chase after Espi.

Not without saying something along the lines of “You wanted a head on fight right, then why are you running!”, which made the boas cheer in unison.

“Hissss!”, they had to restore the image of their king in the eyes of the other snake races if they wanted to continue living like royalty themselves after all.

Inside the river, once the anaconda had deepened a few meters she was hit by a sensation of coldness, apparently there was a current of colder than normal water, circulating below the surface of the river.

‘Is this supposed to work as a limiter to how much time I can spend underwater, nonsense!’, thought the anaconda as she turned into a projectile that swam downwards to the area filled with rocks where the little wyrm was.

“Crack!”, from outside of the water, the public could see how the king of water beasts fiercely charged towards Espi breaking the rocks in he way, as she chased the little wyrm through all the river.

Continuous slight tremors could be felt on the cave as the anaconda basically bulldozed through the bottom of the river, until she finally had cut the distance between herself and Espi.

It’s worth mentioning that by this time, the anaconda was pissed off beyond her limits, breaking the rocks with help of her high underwater speed and her heavy body wasn’t that much for her, her scales protected her against strong impacts, so only sharp objects like the pointy stalactites from earlier were an actual threat for her.

However, that doesn’t mean she didn’t feel pain due to the continuous clashes, what’s more she could see the enemy mockingly gazing her way every time she guided her through an area packed with rocks and narrower paths.

But that had come to an end, since the anaconda had demolished all the possible spots where the little wyrm could hide at this point, it took her twenty minutes of moving around at high speed to achieve it though and the public was in awe, wondering how was she holding her breath after such heavy exercise.

With bloodshot eyes after being put through so much trouble just to deal with a small snake, the anaconda spiraled her body leaving an empty space in between, the idea was to surround the little wyrm leaving no space for her to escape, to then tighten her body in order to capture her and crush her to death, or at least that’s what it was going to look on the outside for others.

‘Once I get a hold of her, my venom will do the rest of the job’, thought the anaconda, she was going to inject her venom into the body of the white snake, to then swallow her whole, that’s how she killed the previous king, since as an anaconda she isn’t supposed to be venomous so the enemies aren’t wary of her bite in that sense and would a 100% of the times try to avoid being captured by her body instead.

Which is how she was easily able to kill the previous king, who suddenly got paralyzed in the middle of the fight and was eaten alive by the anaconda by the way.

“Hisss…”, the anaconda who was in the middle of opening her mouth while she contracted her body in order to coil around Espi, the speed at which the anaconda’s body contracted was fast enough to affect the surrounding water.

“Boooom!”, however that loud impact wasn’t caused by the anaconda’s body contracting at high speed, nope, that was the little wyrm’s tail moving like a whip to hit the anaconda’s body.

A pillar of water raised from the river splashing the surrounding area as an object was shot out of it, to then crash against a rock at the shore of the river.

“Crack”, the object that came out from the river landed with such strength that the rock cracked due to the impact.

“Hisss?”, the reticulated boas who were cheering the king of water beasts until a second ago, looked in confusion at the massive anaconda who had a fist sized dent on the thickest part of her body and more importantly had blood coming out of the corner of her mouth, “Why is the king there, why is she bleeding?”, is what they were saying.

“Hisssss!”, the king of water beasts after tried to toughen up the shock that her innards took due to the previous, but she ultimately had no choice but to let out a loud scream while she also smacked her tail against the ground due to both anger and pain.

All this while the one who caused the previous, in other words the little wyrm casually jumped out of the water to then look at the area where her tail had hit the anaconda, to be honest she was actually surprised… because she expected to blast a hole through the body of the anaconda with her tail earlier.

Instead of that, while the surrounding area where Espi’s attack had landed was dent inwards and there was blood coming from many of the anaconda’s scales, the little wyrm’s tail actually didn’t pierce through the anaconda’s body.

‘At the last second, her scales felt different, much thicker and “organized”, oh well, I already proved that I’m smarter than her, faster than her, better in underwater combat and capable of much more explosive force than her’, thought the little wyrm as she slightly shook her body to get rid of the water that was covering her pretty white scales.

The reason as to why she didn’t outright try to kill the anaconda and instead bested her in both land and water even if that required more effort, is because of the other snake races, the best way to deal with fanatics is proving that that their symbol of adoration is fake.

The little wyrm went through all this hassle because she didn’t want to have to kill all the members of the reticulated boa race, not because of mercy or anything of the like, unlike Kana who has only learned about the malice in people lately, Espi didn’t have any problem with killing enemies, what she didn’t want is to be seen as a violent bloodthirsty beast by her best friend and Aster but that wasn’t a worry for her anymore.

In this case, her instincts told her that if she pushed the reticulated boa race to the point of extinction, she would miss on something good, so she mounted this play and it worked, now that she had made the snake’s “god bleed”, they stopped believing the anaconda to be untouchable.

Seeing the little wyrm disappear from plain view and feeling the incoming danger, the anaconda immediately moved away from her previous position, not even a second later the ground where she was standing had a hole of ten centimeters of diameter pierced into it.

“Crack!”, Espi who became visible again retrieved her tail from the ground and then charged towards the anaconda who after dodging a couple more of those attacks shouted.

“Hissss!!!”, that meant something along the lines of “What are you waiting fools, kill anyone who resists!”, that order was meant for the reticulated boa and the black mamba race.

However only the reticulated boa race immediately jumped into action, not only because the black mamba race wasn’t blindly loyal to the anaconda, but also because a loud roar which carried a suppressive aura echoed through the cave.

“Roaaar!”, that was Guardian stating that she would kill anyone who interrupted a sacred duel, which stopped the black mamba race in their tracks, they already had doubts in their minds when they saw the anaconda being sent flying out of the water like that after all.

The reticulated boas on the other hand, instead divided in those that also doubted and got scared by Guardian’s suppression which consisted in around a third of the present boas, and those who rushed to the side of their king led by the reticulated boa leader.

Contrary to what one would expect, the anaconda didn’t seem happy to have such loyal followers, she found herself surrounded and the duel was basically as good as null now, what’s worse the one she absolutely didn’t want to meet, in other words the lynx was also present.

“Hissss!”, and so under the surprised eyes of not only her enemies but also her allies, the anaconda bit the reticulated boa leader on its back, ripping off its upper body, chewing and swallowing him in a matter of seconds later to then jump into the water not without saying something along the lines of “I’ll remember this, lynx and white snake, next time I see you I’ll eat you!”.

“Woah, big brother guessed what that anaconda would say perfectly~”, said a young girl with blond hair and blue eyes who was entering the cave while riding on a filly, that was of course Kana.

“Go, just be careful”, said Aster to the little wyrm who cutely nodded to then jump into the water.

To understand what’s going on, we must take a peek at the subjects about which Aster asked to the former royal guard anaconda, “Sandbag” earlier.

First and formal he asked where was her residence, because is strange that a king doesn’t live with neither the race from which she came, nor the race with which she is the closest with.

And the answer of Sandbag was that there is a barely impossible to notice pond within the forest, hidden below rocks which is not even as big as a table in terms of extension, but that supposedly leads way too deep into the ground.

The king of water beasts lives there, and through that pond she travels go and from the territory of the reticulated boa race, in the very few times the royal guards were allowed to visit her residence, the anaconda didn’t let them enter her pond even once, so Aster guessed there must be something really important for her, there.

That being said, when they paid a secret visit to the king’s residence, and the little wyrm jumped into it to investigate, things became much more complicate, because the rock tunnel to which the pond was connected, had countless entrances on its walls.

Therefore, they couldn’t find the answers they wanted without the guidance of the anaconda, so Aster planned to corner her until she had no option but to escape alone, in which case the anaconda would go to the place she feels the safest.

And since it was basically confirmed that the anaconda moved through underground rivers, Aster asked Guardian to tell them about an underground cave with water present in it, and they chose this one since at its bottom, semi-hidden, there was a space large enough to accommodate the body of the anaconda that seemingly continued for hundreds of meters according to Espi who did the recognition.

Which is what led us to the current scene in front of the little wyrm, namely the previously semi-hidden entrance at the bottom of the river that leads to a tunnel, where the anaconda had just entered into.

Inside the tunnel, moving at high speed the anaconda had bloodshot eyes as she was reminded at what just had happened, in less than an hour she had lost everything she had worked for during decades.

What’s more, she was forced to flee for her life and now she had no place to return to as other snakes won’t listen to her anymore, sure she could remain in areas with abundant water and play king there, but the fishes aren’t smart enough to obey, at most they will avoid her so she wouldn’t have subordinates to follow her will.

The anaconda who just got angrier the more she thought about it, suddenly felt a familiar presence in the water, she turned her head around just to see the little wyrm chasing after her, which made the anaconda coldly glare at Espi.

‘Fool, sure you might be stronger in a direct confrontation, but you are ultimately a land beast!’, thought the anaconda as she accelerated her pace, she wasn’t thinking it just because of her speed which actually equaled Espi’s in the water.

But because of how long will they have to remain underwater, before they can surface, as the seemingly endless labyrinth of water filled tunnels through which the anaconda moved for the next almost two hours, suggested.

‘How, how the hell has she not drowned yet!’, screamed the anaconda in her mind as she saw Espi following her at the exact same speed which shortened the distance between the two of them every hundred meters of so.

Ultimately realizing that Espi somehow could keep holding her breath as she showed no signs of running out of oxygen anytime soon, the anaconda entered a tunnel which should lead to a completely different direction as it pointed upwards instead of sidewards.

After twenty minutes of swimming the little wyrm saw the anaconda “disappear” from sight, there was a strange green glow which disappeared at the same time as the anaconda.

“Hisss”, the little wyrm who suddenly found herself coming out of water for the first time in more than two hours, “looked” at her surroundings, it was pitch black but she could tell that they were in closed underground space.

‘What was that glow and more importantly why did it disappear?’, thought the little wyrm, despite she not being able to see anything she didn’t feel any discomfort due to the lack of light.

The other sole living being present in the cave however, could perfectly see Espi, how you wonder, well, it might have something to do with the fact that the anaconda’s eyes had become pitch black, it was as if her pupils had occupied the whole space of her eye sockets, quite a creepy sight when you pair it with the fact that there were many bones of different animals as well of patches of snake’s skin which had been shed all over the place, giving it quite an eerie vibe.
