The Rise of the Iron Wall!
Chapter 926 - 3-0 Is Enough?!
This time, Hoppe finally couldn’t hold back his emotions. The boy just rushed to the corner spot, taking off his top and throwing it as far away as possible while also roaring, "COME FUCKING ON!"
The rest of the players followed, laughing their ass off at this ridiculous situation.
"Goddamnit! Are you on drugs or what?!"
"A fucking hat-trick this early?! Is this the fastest one that any player has ever made in the league?!"
Everyone was so excited, feeling like a record should’ve been broken by now.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t true, since Robert Lewandowski bagged a hat-trick just three minutes after he came on the pitch, in the legendary 5 goals in 9 minutes when Bayern Munich played Wolfsburg in 2015.
Compared to that, unfortunately, Hoppe’s achievement today felt a little bit short. He bagged a hat-trick in 6 minutes, which was twice as long as what Lewandowski took that day.
Still, getting a hat-trick itself was a big achievement, and getting it done in such a short time was definitely something to be proud of.
Everything also became way sweeter since this was Hoppe’s first ever game as a pro, probably putting him in another book of records.
Then, to add the cherry on top, this was also a perfect hat-trick for Hoppe. He bagged the first goal with his left foot, the second one with his right, and now with a header.
This was a rare achievement that could make everyone excited, including Hoppe himself, whose mind was still being taken over by his adrenaline.
"Hey, everyone! I am still on fire right now! Can you help me get more?" The boy asked without hesitation, as if it was the most obvious thing to do.
Normally, some of the guys would just snort and ignore him. After all, at the end of the day, Hoppe was just a player from the second team; his status should be lower than anyone else.
Even Higo and Morita received the same kind of treatment the first time they entered the first team, getting told to do things like carrying bags or shoes quite often.
However, this was an extraordinary moment. They had never had a striker who had this much potential before, and they also had a chance to be a part of history.
Knowing that, of course, there would be no need to hesitate.
"Don’t worry, Hoppe. Let’s try to push forward a little bit more." Omar Mascarell just patted the boy on the back with a solemn tone. "Just try to get a good position in the box, and the others will definitely find you."
Morita’s grin was wider than ever when he heard that.
"You heard it, Boy! I have already given you three today, making it four shouldn’t be a problem!"
The others laughed as well, feeling like a huge burden finally being lifted off their shoulders. Now, they finally had a striker that could be relied on, and it would be a lie if they said that they weren’t excited.
The only stain on this hat-trick would be Hoppe’s celebration, as he took off his top in adrenaline. This made the referee come straight to the boy, giving a yellow card for this.
Not that the boy minded, of course, since he felt like this punishment was worth the craziness that he felt during that moment. It was just that Frohling started to nag him, forcing the boy to nod quietly.
"Remember, Hoppe! You are our only striker right now! You are out, and we will be screwed! Don’t be too excited about it, and don’t get provoked by any other foul! Let the others deal with the dirty job, okay? Just focus on scoring!"
"I know, Boss, I know... Don’t worry about me..."
Frohling could only sigh helplessly at how nonchalant the boy was in this regard. The more casual Hoppe was, the more worried the coach would be, feeling like something would go wrong later.
As for Hoffenheim’s side, they looked like a bunch of standing corpses right now. No one let out any words, probably feeling so numb after conceding three quick goals like this.
The only feeling that they could feel right now was probably fear, as they were so afraid to be a stepping stone for Hoppe just like what Wolfsburg suffered for Lewandowski a few years ago.
However, no matter how frightened they were, no one on their team knew what to do right now. Everything happened so fast that their mind couldn’t catch up with the whole situation even at this point.
Even their head coach didn’t get angry anymore, just having his face turn pale like blood getting drained out of his body.
The man probably had never expected that his team would be destroyed without mercy, and the culprit was just a 19-year-old boy who had never played in a pro game before today.
In the end, the assistant finally took over the situation, giving his instructions to allow the team to survive.
"Keep your eyes tightly on that boy, and try to stabilize the tempo first. Don’t panic under their pressure, and aim at their right side. Their fullback always comes late to support there, so try to take advantage of that to relieve yourself. Don’t think too much about the score, just try to survive first!"
It was a pragmatic instruction, one that the team needed the most rather than any inspirational speech like never give up or something like that.
Fortunately, Schalke also ran into trouble after this.
There was a reason why not a lot of teams used this high-pressing as their defensive system.
Not only did it take so much stamina, but they had to coordinate well with each other to make sure that no hole would be created in the process.
In the end, after doing a high-pressure defense for more than 10 minutes, they slowed down unconsciously, not being able to maintain the intensity for the rest of the game.
’Oh, well, we are already up by three goals, so there is no need to push further other than to satisfy Hoppe’s ego, right?’ Everyone thought at the same time.
