The Rise of the Iron Wall!
Chapter 925: A Hat-Trick?!
"OH! WHAT A GOAL! WHAT A FUCKING GOAL!"
"SHIT, BRAT! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH YOU?!"
"DAMN! THIS IS SO FUCKING CRAZY!"
Everyone was so in disbelief right now, not knowing how to react properly to this goal. Hoppe himself rushed toward the cameramen enthusiastically, coming so close to the lens while patting the badge on his chest with pride and a smile beaming from ear to ear.
"THE NAME IS MATTHEW HOPPE FROM AMERICA! COME ON, SCHALKEEE!" He roared wildly, making sure that all the people who watched this knew about him.
The rest of the team followed immediately, jumping on his back and waving at the empty stand in front of them like crazy as if they were in front of their own home crowd.
"FUCKING HELL, HOPPE! THIS IS CRAZY!"
"TWO GOALS IN THREE MINUTES! WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR BRAIN MADE FROM?!"
"ARE WE GETTING A NEW GENIUS OR WHAT?!"
Their reaction here was understandable. After all, they had been struggling to get even one goal in the first half, and now, not even five minutes after the game started, and yet they were already leading by two goals, putting themselves far ahead of the home team in this game.
The one who was happiest here was, of course, Hoppe himself. However, the second one, which was also close in the list here, was Morita, as the boy was grinning widely; it even hurt his facial muscles.
"Damn! I get a free assist out of nowhere! Thanks, Hoppe!" He laughed boisterously, patting the striker on the back just like any other teammates around.
Yeah, even though it wasn’t planned at all, the last touch before the ball landed on Hoppe’s feet was from Morita, so it counted as the midfielder’s assist.
This was also his second assist of the game, so the boy, also enjoying his stats, got a boost out of nowhere.
Meanwhile, all the Hoffenheim players were still stun-locked, looking at each other as if they had just been confounded by some sort of spell here.
Everything happened so fast that they couldn’t even process it. From one goal to another, it was as if they had just fallen asleep, not knowing what was going on with their surroundings.
On the sideline, their head coach also started to get furious, pointing at any players who he thought were lacking in concentration. They couldn’t help but shudder, knowing full well that once the game was over, they would get chewed alive in the locker room.
Once the game restarted for the second time in a row, of course, their first thought was to attack the opponent as quickly as possible, wanting to rush things up so that at least they could narrow the gap to one point.
Well, they still had the same thought as when the first goal happened, but this time, they were a little bit more careful, especially when all the Schalke players still went into a frenzy as if they had just been injected with steroids.
Matthew Hoppe was still hungry for another goal here, pouncing on one player after another to get the ball. His energy, coupled with the adrenaline rushing after getting two quick goals, was unlimited right now, as if he couldn’t get exhausted at all in this game.
Fortunately, the others were also willing to follow his lead on the pressure timing, making sure that Hoffenheim couldn’t gain momentum at all, even for a second, to fight back in the game.
This was at least enough to make some players flustered, getting them to foul once or twice that was a little bit too much so that the referee would give a direct yellow card to those guys.
Still, this sudden change of playing style really caught Hoffenheim off guard, and they didn’t know what to do. As a result, they failed to build up another good attack, letting Higo alone not having any job in his own territory.
Not that he would complain, of course, since this would be the second game in a row where he was jobless, basically doing nothing but rerouting the ball and distributing it to whoever was empty on the frontline.
Hell, he even had to start moving around since they were already in the middle of the winter season here, or the boy would be frozen to death for not generating enough heat in his body when he didn’t have anything to do.
’Yeah, this is how it feels to play for a big team, right? Not having to worry about anything else since the opponent is too weak to threaten me. It is boring but also a peaceful feeling. Hmm... Not bad...’ He nodded slightly while dozing off for a moment when the ball was still far away from his side.
Then, all the pressure that Schalke threw finally bore another good result, as once again, Morita, with his intelligence in the midfield, managed to read the passing route of Hoffenheim players and snatched the ball from their possession.
This caught everyone off guard, and the first one who managed to react and see an opportunity coming was, of course, Matthew Hoppe himself.
The young striker was still hungry for another goal, so he rushed into the penalty box without hesitation.
’Yeah, if it was Morita, he would be able to see me, right?’ He thought while running, having already seen so many times about Morita’s vision when it came to attack.
Well, he wasn’t disappointed here, as in the next second, a diagonal pass was whipped from the flank by Morita. It was clear that the midfielder managed to see Hoppe’s movement and sent it to the box before the striker himself got caught in the offside trap.
This time, though, it was a high ball in the air, taking advantage of Hoppe’s tall body to take over the offense here.
Of course, with the opponent’s defensive line not even close to being ready, it was so easy for him to handle this kind of ball, as the boy just nudged it slightly to change its direction before seeing the ball fall onto the back of the net.
Thud!
The goalkeeper was so helpless as he could only watch it, having to accept that he would become a stepping stone for Matthew Hoppe today.
