Chapter 2956: A Mummy Capable of Turning the Realm Upside Down I
Chapter 2956: A Mummy Capable of Turning the Realm Upside Down I
Three months passed in the blink of an eye for Minos' group in the Upper Realm.
Three months for them were years or decades for those in Minos' home universe, or in alternate planes, such as the home of Vicente Fuller—the Devil Minos had in Hell for future plans.
Naturally, three months were not enough for the Ancestral Cult faction to change their circumstances. Now the group was still involved in basically the same matters as months ago, before the critical conversation Minos had had with his most important allies and subordinates.
As he himself had expected, his group could do little to change their chances against the enemies mentioned by Yin and Yang. The previous conversation had been, in his opinion, more of a warning than anything else.
Fortunately, his men had managed to locate the position of another powerful Devil in recent months, which brought them another throne after the assassination of that entity.
Due to this result, all of Minos' women were now involved in his inheritance!
Minos could only wait for their efforts to have them by his side again, while continuing to seek his level advancement.
And so, he was currently fulfilling his responsibilities as a Deity, cultivating the power of the dimension for himself and also for his territories, doing the only thing he could to prepare for the last enemies of his journey.
There was no information about those beings. Yin and Yang had shown no signs of life since they last spoke, and anything related to ancient times was a complicated taboo to understand, even in the realm. With only his own strengthening available, that was what he was currently focused on.
...
Suddenly, Minos opened his eyes and stood up, leaving his lotus position after over two months of meditating in a region of high convergence of energy and laws from his domains in the Upper Realm.
He was not alone there, with some of his faction companions and family present, keeping an eye on the surroundings while he meditated.
As soon as he awoke and stopped controlling the concentrated essence of that bright zone of the submerged area where they were, every member of the group looked to him, wondering at their leader's sudden movement.
No one needed to ask about his reaction. Minos' normally calm expression changed noticeably, expressing to everyone there that something was wrong.
Frowning, Minos looked toward his city, his eyes sharp, his fists clenched. The fluctuation of his aura changed, subtly pressing down on those nearby.
"Something happened?" Oswald asked as he approached his grandson, his voice betraying his pessimism.
"Someone is coming," Minos said, without wasting time. "Let's go back. A fight awaits us."
Minos was a seer. In fact, he could be considered the greatest seer of all, given the position he had already achieved. But even he could not predict so well the fate of those capable of bringing problems that could worry him.
The group knew Minos' limitations. They did not question their leader about details before doing exactly as he had instructed.
They swam in formation with Minos, leaving this area for the city, about half an hour away.
Minos said halfway there, "I have a bad feeling. I feel we will face great destruction."
The hearts of the 11 individuals swimming with him nearly leapt out of the mouths of these men and women.
Even though they were in the middle of the water, they felt their mouths drying up and their thoughts fading away, along with the growing terror in their hearts.
Minos continued, "Those who are not yet Celestials should depart for the secret strategic posts of our alliance. Wait for news and new orders without getting involved in trouble in the meantime. I feel that we will not be able to fight this war as we did in past conflicts."
Minos' words weighed heavily on the minds of his companions, each of them feeling strange to the extreme, hearing such a solemn tone from their leader for the first time.
Some had been at Minos' side for thousands of years. They had seen him overcome at least half a dozen crises. But until today, he had never shown such concern for the future.
Minos continued with his grim expression, truly worried. He did not see exactly what challenges his people would face ahead. But he saw and felt the level of threat and destruction it would cause if they were not perfect in their movements from here on out.
'This time we will win by a narrow margin, if we win at all,' he thought to himself as he assessed the situation of his faction. 'I feel like my position will be worse than Mylecent's with her family...'
Mylecent had fought for hundreds of thousands of years, been imprisoned for a long time, and fought at a disadvantage almost until the end of her troubles. She had had to live on the run, hiding her tracks, and had been forced into strategies that greatly limited her possibilities.
Now Minos felt he was entering a situation equal to or worse than Mylecent's.
He returned to his city with these thoughts before coming back to the cult's palace headquarters. His group soon split up, with the weakest already beginning the retreat ordered by the alliance leader.
"What happened? Why are we evacuating?" Lily asked when she came upon her father.
Several of the Celestials from the alliance and the cult left their posts nearby, each one more serious than the next, as they sought answers from Minos.
Minos sat on the throne of his palace and informed them. "We don't have much time. Something is going to happen in the next 2 or 3 minutes. Get ready. I don't have a good feeling about what we're going to face."
Devdar's expression changed to one even uglier than the one he had been wearing all day. "Can you give us more details?"
That was when the level 128 True Celestial asked, when everyone in the throne hall wanted to know more from Minos, that the sound of an explosion, a few kilometers above their city, rang out.
The waters churned, while the loud underwater boom, combined with the vibration coming from the site of the incident, caught the attention of everyone in the palace and the city of Minos.
The Celestials present around Minos were almost as fast as he was. They disappeared from inside the palace, appearing on the outskirts of the city of the great coral nearby, their powers already running through their bodies.
The Deities present activated their thrones, bringing forth eight different powers, each coveted by countless beings, both inside and outside the realm.
Meanwhile, they all looked toward the explosion, ignoring the thousands of beings fleeing the area, whether those evacuating on Minos' orders or those who had been taken by surprise.
High above the city, space had broken apart and an air bubble had appeared, creating a distortion capable of altering even Minos' spatial powers over that city.
In this air bubble appeared two entities and a coffin, as if they had been teleported to this place from far away.
The two beings in front of the black coffin were dressed in cloaks, garments that not only covered their bodies entirely, but also hid their auras. Meanwhile, the coffin drew attention, exuding a powerful aura that could not be mistaken.
"Impossible!" said one of the Entitled Deities at Minos' side.
That was the thought of all those old immortals allied with Minos.
At that moment, the coffin carried by those two newcomers had such a strong aura that even Lydis' could not compare!
It was not like the legends described level 130, but it was even stronger than the only level 129 being most of them knew!
'It's them,' said the Throne of the Law of Time in Minos' mind, referring to the creatures Yin and Yang had warned them about.
Minos felt a chill run down his spine as something told him that the two beings carrying the coffin were looking at him.
He suppressed his concerns and uncertainties, stepping forward from his group. "Who are you? Introduce yourselves!"
The moment Minos spoke, the coffin lid shook, and an extremely hoarse voice, full of vicissitudes, sounded from inside it.
"Eliminate Tian Wang's successor. The rest are unimportant."
With the voice of the mummy inside the coffin, all those who did not have law thrones within 10,000 kilometers lost consciousness, fainting completely before even the last words of the old being in the coffin had finished sounding.
